Water Reflection Glitch

Has anyone experienced this or know what is causing this weird water reflection glitch? My weapons cause a giant reflection on bodies of water. It happens with different settings (the shots you see there are on Ultra, I believe).

I'm running a Geforce GTX 560M (laptop).

I have the same issue. Looks like the reflection thinks the weapon is drawn behind the horizon.

I see this all the time in other games too.

This occurs in many games, because many games use the same cheat to draw water surface reflections. GPU rendering is still not at the point where you can render correct reflections through ray tracing, so all games use some sort of approximation. Sadly, this particular one is not very well suited for first person view.

It happens to me as well. I ended up disabling water reflections because of it.

Haven't noticed it yet. But now I will keep an eye out to see if it does. Does it happen only in 1st person mode?

Yes and no. If you position the camera right in 3rd person, it can happen, but it's easier to see the issue in 1st person.

Ah ok. i rarely play in 1st person so thats probably why I haven't seen it. I have had a few instances where I had some black tearing in the screen but it was like a split second while moving the camera.

lol. ooh. it's a 1st person thing... I only ever play in first person. That's why I see it. interesting. I'll be disabling the reflections until the Water Overhaul (nudge, nudge)
