An idea for guild improvement.

Give guilds their own skill tree just as characters except be made of passives only. Have three skill lines: Warfare, Adventuring, and Commerce. The way guilds would level up would be tricky. It could be made where when a guild member gains experience, kills a player in PVP, etc.. the guild itself advances ever so slightly in level. This would allow active guilds more beneits and would make it so guild members could advance their guild by doing the things they love to do.

Description of skill lines-
Warfare: This would be the PVP orientated skill line, allowing the guild to to invest in things such as guild banners and the ability to claim keeps. There could also be passives that would increase guild member movement speed while in a group or allow them to generate more alliance points, etc.

Adventuring: This skill line would be orientated towards PvE. Skills in this line could include abilities allowing guild members to have an increased experience gain while grouped with other guild members, increased damage to daedra enemies while grouped with guild members, and increased movement speed while in Tamriel. (This movement speed buff would not stack with the ones in Cyrodiil)

Commerce: This skill line would be for guilds interested in Trading. Passive in this line could include things such as an interest rate gain on gold stored in the guild bank, more guild bank slots, cheaper repairs, etc.

Please be aware that the passives I listed are simply general ideas and are not the final passives I would expect to be in place. I would love to hear your thoughts on this system and would also love for you to add your ideas and critiques to it. Thanks for reading :)
Hi there! My name is Vaht or as most people call me, pupsy. I am a somewhat casual PvE and casual small group pvp player. Dude, this game is totes fun and I love playing with friends while in a discord call.

I only have a dragon knight left to level and then i'll have one of each class at CP rank.

I like the line of thought but... this game is already so anti single player it's not funny last thing we need is more group/guild activities/perks

It is an MMO! It should try its best to entice players to participate in groups together! :)

I think it's a great idea, I could totally get behind something like this.
    Allow cross-platform transfers and merges

Had such idea for ESO as well, such kind of system was in L2 and it was working there just great (guild lvls), but the bad thing is, that its unclear how it will work with 5 guild system we have atm.

It has been attempted in World of Wacraft and while it was a great idea on paper it was an awfull idea in practice.
Instead of having an incentive for players to participate in guild activities, it make it "mendatory" and players will hunt the best guild to get those passives.
With time it will make hard/impossible for little guilds or new guild to recruit, and make it an obligation for players to be in a guild even if they don't want to.

So, nope...I don't think its a good idea at all. It looks like one, but it will be disastrous.
Was introduced in Cataclysm by World of Warcraft. Had been removed entirely in Warlords of Draenor. Should be convincing enough...

Actually it depends how it will be created, if it will be as terrible as it was in WoW then no, it will ruin guild system, but if it will be made clever as was in L2 then maybe its worth a try, there will be always best/terrible guilds without those things anyway, especially when guild housing and such things will be added in game.

But keep in mind that in ESO you can join 5 guilds, and if only one of the guilds was eligible to get these passives, you'd still have those 4 other guilds to join.

Also, the passives could possibly be made just as easily obtainable by smaller guilds (in another form/manner).

I'd just like to see a merchant skill line like in other TES games
Guild: STACK n BURN (gm) PC - NA
    CP 810 18 Maxed Characters:
    "How hard can u guar?" - Rafishul[/spoiler]

I figured that a player would have one guild set as "active" and they would only revieve bonuses from that guild :)

I guess a way to stop the single guilds from becoming to powerful from having all the perks, make it so that the perks are player based. It could be a whole new player skill line and you would have to do certain thing within your guild to gain experience in these trees, and then use skill points to unlock the passives like every other player skill and such. :) Just some ideas!

Personally I dislike giving guild players more power then solo players can achieve - they already gain enough perks through the support of their guildmates. Worse it would be to make those powers dependent on guild size, that would turn ESO in one of those browser games where your power is dependent on how many strangers you have as "friends"... I always hated those.

That said, new collections of passibes beside the champion system in form of more "guilds" like the fighter and mages guild would be something I'd like to see in the name of character customization... now, we are getting thieves guild and dark brotherhood by all accounts, but it would perhaps be neat to have some more... Merchants guild? Craftsmen guild?

You can make those perks balanced, and it wont really matter...

Besides, how many people are there at end game (when power really matters), who don't have a single guild?
If there are some of those people, they probably don't care about power/progression anyhow (since without a guild, they'll be missing out/severely limited in Trials/AP/trading no matter what).

One thing I agree on, is that if they were to implement a "guild progression" system, it shouldn't be based on member count, but things like completing dungeons/trials, capturing keeps/resources/crowning emperors & trading done by the guild in question.

Really? Get that anti-social nonsense out of here. Ruining a good post with ridiculous single player agenda.

This. Set it up like GW2 has it. You can represent 1 guild actively at any given time. When that guild is represented by you, you get the perks. When it's not, you don't.

    Clean. Simple. Do-able.
