How long does it take YOU to level 1-50?

I'm asking because I'm having an extremely tough time trying to level an alt. I leveled my main almost completely in Cyrodiil back during launch when everyone was leveling.

Since then I've managed to level a 25, 19, and 14... I can't quest or grind for more than an hour before bored to quitting. Blame Cyrodiil, for me it's so much better than the quest/grind game.

I'm hoping some of you can maybe show me the light at the end of the tunnel by telling how long it takes you.

edit -
4 days 2 hour 28 mins (QUESTING). I spent maybe 5 hours in Cyrodiil, and maybe another 2-3 afk.

Here's my take. For a semi-casual player who buys ESO to pvp, a person who plays a couple hours a night 100+ hours, 50 days plus is far too long. Many will and I sure have quit.

The problem is there is no low level pvp to break up the quest/grind grind for the person who is new to the game looking for pvp. Cyrodiil is no fun for a sub vet player with 1900 hp.

Solution, What would have made things much more enjoyable for me and I'm sure for the new person coming in looking for pvp is to raise the hard caps on health, magicka, and stamina. I suggest 2500 hp, 1800 magicka and staminia. At these points the new player will atleast be able to compete. Yes, it will still be challenging, but atleast they will have a fighters chance and still something to work for.

@ZOS_BrianWheeler‌, I implore you to consider my suggestion I feel that it will with retention with regards to vet players who want to level an alt, and new players who bought ESO to pvp.

Depends on how much you try to enjoy it. My first character took me about a week and a half but I didn't stop and enjoy it and got bored with the character. My 2nd character which is my new main took me 3 months cause I stopped and enjoyed it.

I don't remember but it wasn't a super ton. I think I skipped all the dialogue and just ran from one point to the next. But you can do it quickly but if you aren't having fun whats the point. Less than 40 hours I know that much.

Questing/grinding is no fun for me. That's why I haven't leveled an alt. That's the whole point. Cyrodiil is where I want to be. As I said in the OP "for me it's so much better than the quest/grind game."

Less than 40 sounds good though.

You can level up in Blackwater Blade, no? XP up to lvl 50 is pretty good in PvP.

I personally take about ~120 hours to get to lvl 50 with a new character. I generally complete all the content in the zones up to Coldharbour, including group dungeons, world bosses and dark anchors. I also listen to all the dialogue.

Well, if you have a lot of free time it's possible to do in one week or even faster(with grind party). I can't remember how quick I leveled because it was fun and I didn't cared about level. I don't like to grind, but very enjoy AD storyline. For the Queen!

Nah, it's pretty terrible atm. Yesterday i killed people and defended keeps on thorne. I was getting 56xp per kill and like 46 per keep defend. AP was great, XP was terrible. I don't remember it being that bad at launch.

I've been playing since launch and have 8 characters, the highest of which are in their 20s. I simply don't play for the endgame, whatever that is, I play for the journey and smell the roses every step of the way.

The capture, scout & bounty quests help. Along with the daily quests & fighter guild contracts(if you're high enough level to unlock them.)

But, it's still slow going leveling in Cyrodiil, even with all those.

Last one my third was about ~40h without any grinding or much pvp.
-quests- start island and all the quests that would be part of Cadawel's for another faction since I only wanted skill points. Not much of the extra quest except the main quest. Fighter's and mage's guild lines are not halfway trough at Vr4. The leveling in normal has been made much faster, I had problems remaining on level even if I skipped most non existential quests.
-each Delve. each public dungeon, each public dungeon challenge.
-I done most Dungeons also on level. It as much more simple to find a group as a temp healer.
    -most world bosses and dolmens.

I finally got my main to VR 1 sometime in November.

I have two in the 30's and the rest are down there in the "oh, look weapon swap. cool!" range.

TL;DR: Months, but that is the way I like it.

I just hit level 26 last night, on my ALT Duplicate of my Main VR14 character (so he can take advantage of Cadwell's Silver and Gold quests when the Champion system comes), been at it for about 4 nights so far, 4-5 hrs a night.

oh yeah no quests, been just grinding, here is a grinding guide for AD:

PS- On a side note, I usually don't ever power level, but because of the whole ZOS 30 CP fiasco I will make an exception this time.

Now that I think about it. I remember vividly after the v14 cap increase keep defense XP was slightly more than keep defense AP. I remember getting 28k AP and 30k XP from a 1 hour long chalman defense with Bit and EHJ.

@ZOS_BrianWheeler‌ Was there a change? Now you get the AP from keep defense but almost no XP. I got 2800 AP from defense yesterday and like 46 XP. Is this a bug?

edit- I kinda feel this needs it's own thread.
edit- It's the samething with resources. AP but no XP.

So my game clock has me at 7 days, 11 hours, and x minutes....at work can't look...for my V2. I did a lot of PVP in the beginning (okay, that is a lie since I was lvl 15. It was mostly dying, but I was there man B) ). And when I got to Coldharbour at 41, I went back to do some of the content I missed. I should point out that the Vet levels has been about 2 of those game days. I have really been screwing off in PVP lately. I hate to grind, but I am notorious for burning through quests to get to the end. And no fear there if you like PVP. Grab a friend and in between battles, do some of the quests. Apparently from the above posts, I am slow as molasses. But I am okay with that. I wanted one toon at vet rank. I have 4 others that are sitting in the wings to see what will happen with this CP thing.
Follow me if I advance, Kill me if I retreat, Avenge me if I die.

When this immediate evil power has been defeated, we shall not yet have won the long battle with the elemental barbarities. Another evil, it may be an invisible adversary, will attempt, again, and yet again, to destroy our frail civilization. Is it true, I wonder, that the only way to escape a war is to be in it?

If I die, you are forgiven, If I live, I will kill you.

For me, it's roughly 30-40hrs. It takes me about 4-6hrs to full clear a zone (delves, skyshards, and quests) which by the end of Coldharbour usually brings me to somewhere between lv 48-50.

Edit: As a side note, I only make new armor sets every 10 lvls since it takes a while to switch chars, go to the station I need, back to city to banks and swap back. Usually I go 1-10 wear whatever I find/quest items, 10-16 basic crafted armor(no set, maybe traits). 16-26 first real armor set, 26-36, 36-44/46 leather I do at 44 because Fell hide is a pain to get only covers 4 levels (46-50) so it's not worth it for me.

I power leveled my alt to 48 in about 2 weeks(35-40hrs). If you group with another person the progress goes faster and you get an xp bonus. I use an xp counter addon that tells me how much xp I get so I know when to move to the next set of higher level npc's. I like to find area's that have huge mobs to get some good xp really fast and I also started the guild quests so I could level up those skills as I was going. There are a few guides floating around to help you on locations to go to and some other tips to help speed up the process.

I'm in the same boat as you Sunshine. I've been trying to reroll my NB to min/max his race but he has been stuck at level 15, heh. I personally have no interest in anything PvE related and leveling in PvP is incredibly slow. So instead, I've been playing my Sorc in PvP for the past month for roughly 2-5 hours daily and have gone from v5 to v8.

I would love an XP boost in Cyrodiil, especially when considering how the Champion System will come into play when gaining Champion Points. If the XP gains stay the same when comparing PvE to PvP, it will be a requirement to PvE to gain Champion Points in order to remain competitive.

I don't know how people get to VR1 in a day. I'm neurotic in that I can't leave a zone until I've completed every single achievement/quest/etc. Even fishing, and that *** is useless...

I played a number of alts to their 20s in April-May, and then took the summer off to enjoy the sunshine. My DK is at VR2 now, and I started her back in October. I play a few hours every other evening, with a solid day of gaming a couple times a month. Grinding for xp just doesn't appeal to me, honestly. I just want to enjoy the game, marvel at the atmospheres, and follow the story.

On the other hand, I also intently research theorycrafting and hope to play with the hardcore kids one day... *shrug* Play how you want, right?
