You guys are basically crapping on every single good PvE player in the game with your ult gain system for 1.6. Congrats Zeni you might just lose my sub.

This is exactly what happens every single time a company is stupid enough to try and balance pvp in a pve game.

When are people going to learn they need to separate the two?

They don't need to be on completely different servers, pvp simply needs it own ruleset, separate from pve.

It's beyond foolish to think that you can balance pvp and still keep pve attractive, because pve ALWAYS suffers when the whiners start crying about pvp issues, which causes the pve players to revolt and then you've just pissed everyone off by that point and your game fails.

There should be a history course for game devs that is mandatory to take before they get hired and start making a new project.

We obviously won't be doing it cause one week link in trials can lead to a wipe. But I'm still waiting for a statement from ZOS to explain the logic behind single target light attacks in Aoe context, especially trials.

I've always read, especially in official announcements preceeding the release of the game, that ESO was designed to be a massive PVP game. ZOS has even built his own graphics engine so as to make sure that they will be able to address the constraints relative to a massive PVP game: their engine has the ability to smoothly display complex graphic scene where 200 players or more are present in the same area. A great technical success in my opinion.

So, the end-game of ESO has always been designed to be PVP oriented, with PVE contents. Not the other way round. Of course this can change over time depending on the user wish list for the future of the game. And to be honest, this has already happened, since I could see great additions to the PVE contents be released in the last 6 months.

Now let's come back to the initial post. I really think that you should try the changes on the PTS prior to complaining about the possible consequences of such changes, and then report your feedback, so ZOS can make some adjustment to the new combat system they plan to release. For instance, they may change a few 1H and a shield abilities, or heavy armor abilities, to help tanks recharge their ultimates.

slap in the face for pve players?! single target ult gen is going to be near enough the same for most builds, and better for others
I mean seriously, the real slap in the face will be for PVP players. Oh whats better yet, negate, currently the best skill in the game is getting a buff....

@kaghei no ult gain from blocking or aoe, no healing ult gain outside of combat....and those buffs will absolutely not stack...so i my standard can only be dropped every 67 seconds. Yes that a huge major nerf to every single PvE player in the game.

also my vr14 rank is going to be the same as a vet 1 now with this CP stuff. The time i put it doesnt matter. I dont think any thought was put into any of these changes. This company lied...and they lied publicly. I hope someone sues them.....im totally serious about that.

People invested money in this company over multiple months based on things they said they would deliver in official statements...and they just said nope never mind about any of that. Companies get sued all the time for stuff like that.

You're right. ZOS have to commit to a certain level of service but the content of the game isn't part of it, even less content that's not been created yet.

Did they not think that they would hemorrhage subs from a game already hemorrhaging subs from this clear lie to its customers without any explanation other than" we just changed our minds "???? This is so insane.

A post in forums (although official forums) isn't an official statement. Sir, you're either very young and ideologist, or you're American and used to lawsuits for every excuse possible. Or maybe both. But there is no matter for legal action here, ever. It sucks ball but we'll survive and I actually think we're better off with an even start

I think WoW did that pretty well. I only played till WotLK though, so I don't know its current state.

Im not saying i would try to stand in court over this...i have better things to do in life.....but the even start your talking about completely alienates everyone who played this game from day 1....and the ult gain nerf makes it even worse. So because a small portion of casual players complained...we all need to learn to play the game all over again and not have a single thing we did count towards anything after the company said it would. How can you possibly defend that ?
  • Welka
    Welka

I defend it because I don't play the game to be the best or for the CP themselves. I take no pride for bragging about how many I have and it in time I'll get twice as many as someone who plays half as much.

I log in to have fun with my friends in dungeon and trials, and others quests/activities. Nothing more, nothing less. And I will carry on to do so, gaining CP naturally in the background as I play.
They said we would be rewarded with back tracked XP and someone realised along the line that it would create too much of a gap between different players. I have a V14 toon and a V4 toon. So in a way I'm affected too but even between myself and a guy who grinds craglorn all the time, the gap would be insane.

Trust me, the rage would have been worse if they didn't change their mind and some extreme grinders would have started CS almost maxed out. Time to move on, it's a one off ball ache. The real issue is ultimate generation which going to affect us on a daily basis, in every of our fights

@welka so giving your vr4 40 points and my vr14 100 points out of like 3600 would make me too op....i think not. Also you just made my point. Because im a more serious player and you may not be im suppose to just re-learn to play the game. Thats wrong. I should be able to play my way..and you your way. Im being forced to be a casual gamer. ill just leave and take my wallet with me.

Because there is so much hate on the forums over some of these changes (30pts, ultimate, certain skills being buffed..., etc) that they probably need to wait until the holidays are over and everyone is back in the office so they can all sit down and figure out who to slap upside the head.

I wouldn't expect any "official" statement until next week at the earliest, maybe even not until the new year.

Like I've said multiple times to my guild, this next patch (1.6) is going to make or break this game and right now, it's still on the fence.

They have time to make adjustments, the hate simply needs to overpower the fanboi applause before it's too late.

Why do people overreact like this before they even play the new Update? Lol... I mean holy crap man the Update isn't even in PTS server (where things can change quickly in an update) and you're unsubbing?... Wow. Wait for the Update to come on PTS, try it out then judge. Can't even really judge it then, should really wait for it to go Live then make your decision or just learn to adapt to the new way.

Please don't lump all of us in together. Been playing since before day 1 and I don't feel the slightest bit alienated. Maybe in the future you could have your hyperbolic statements say "everyone who played this game since day one, except for that one player over there who doesn't care".

Meh. All this time, builds are made around certain things being better to do, like blocking constantly and generating as much ultimate as possible. I for one am more happy about it as they try to get the game where you actually play and have more freedom on how to do so, rather than having to stick to the tried and true.

Chances are, you will be able to do the same things you do now, but you might want to get to that end in a different way.

Staff went on break for Christmas. It is why I've said that they shouldn't have done ESO live on Friday, but should have done it mid-last week instead.
