@Tandor you state that players aren't losing the benefits those ranks have accrued and currently you are correct. What players are losing is the experience accrued post VR14.
Additionally, you are failing to consider that many players (even casual such as myself) have been playing on a VR14 for months with nothing now to show for it. Also, many players leveled alts to VR14 with no intention of actively playing them but rather as a means to gain CS points as ZoS stated it would. Therefore to them, that alt holds no benefit regardless of its rank.
Finally, the German mod clearly stated that additional CS points will not be awarded when vet levels are removed; that is not part of the plan. Tell me then, if the champion system is the future progression system for our characters, and our vet exp doesn't count towards it, what will our vet xp count for?
I wouldn't be surprised if there already is a achievement pet in the works for "elder" players. There, enjoy your "reward".
Averya_Teira wrote: »After looking over the German thread, I think someone here is correct. Z will be rewarding some Vets with a wolfhound or something. Possibly. Or something else that won't unbalance the game in their view.
But... their own description of the champion system is that the more points you have the less difference each points makes... If they gave the 30 CP + 40 other CP to VR14 who played a lot... what ****ing difference does it make lol... Shouldn't imbalance anything, from their own words...
People really need to read through the thread and understand the current status of things before they start slinging wild accusations that people are stupid or don't know what they are talking about.
It really does't matter what the rest of the thread says. You will still be rank 14+. If you actually think that they are just going to erase your veteran ranks with no compensation, you're blinded by the gigantic tin foil hat that has fallen over your eyes. Who says they even intend on using CP to compensate veteran ranks when they go away? It would be far easier to just roll your veteran ranks into a level cap increase anyway.

I'm not clear that he did say that, but we don't have a clear indication one way or the other.
We also don't have a clear indication of what was meant when he made another point that people seem to want to ignore:-
"But we want to make sure that players who have already completed most of the content , are not disadvantaged in earnings of other points champion."
This entire thread boils down to this ideal:
"I DESERVE, nay, am ENTITLED more champion points for x reason"
No, no you don't. You deserve zero things.
I honestly and truly would.
When they told us that we werent getting retroactive undaunted points, I guarantee you that I had more than 99.9% of everyone in this game.
It's what it is. It was annoying, I moved on and all is well with the world.
I mean really, who really cares this much about the points inside of a video game.
Didn't answer the actual question:
Bethesda wouldn't ever do that because its a single player game and you being OP has zero to do with anyone else.
If skyrim was a MMO then it wouldn't be skyrim and your point still wouldn't make sense.
Comparing single player games to MMO is always going to fail its not apples vs apples.

A better way to compare Skyrim and ESO would be through Skyrim's last patch. A system was that allowed character progression to continue after a character had hit the old level cap. Nothing was done to compensate players for the time gap between reaching old cap and the patch but your character wasn't deleted. That's far more similar to the current situation than what you've laid out above.
@yodased is right when he says you can't really compare the two. They are too different.
You are grasping at straws here.
You act like you have some signed contract or that this will really affect your life somehow.

Also quitting and unsubbing before even seeing it on the PTS is childish, and telling everyone is the equivalent of yelling 'I'm leaving home forever!' to try and trick parents into doing what you want. No one cares about these hollow threats, least of all Zeni, who have other kids to look out for too.

If you believe what you say then you also deserve zero things. So ZOS should also not award any CP to anyone else who completes silver/gold (even in the future). That way nobody gets special treatment and everything is fair. If people with multiple vet characters can't benefit from *any* of the XP in silver/gold they should disallow it for everyone. Right? If there is plenty of "other" activities to do to gain CP outside of silver/gold there should be plenty for everyone to earn CP outside of the main story quest line. Right? Just make it so that all CP gain only comes from PvP, grinding or dailies (the same content available to those with no more silver/gold content). Right?
Yeah, I'm sure nobody would be freaking out about that.
Imagine you bought World of Warcraft in 2008. Then Blizzard came in 1 year later and released an expansion because they wanted to change content and didn't want you to have an advantage over new players who bought the game just to play that expansion...
..oh wait, stuff like this happens in MMO's all the time. If every time a game updated everyone was just handed everything they needed to be exactly as strong as they were before what would be the point of adding new content at all?
.

Cadwell's silver and gold is a strange concept and we should all be sorry that we were forced into it in the first place.
Ignore me, love me, hate me, it makes what I say no less true. How can I 'act' like I am intelligent anyway? How does one do such a thing?
Whatever personal attacks on my IQ aside, the fact remains that zero people actually know facts.
And, yes I deserve zero things just like the next guy in life and in video games. WTF do I DESERVE? Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness since I live in the USA, that's it.

Unless your sig links to a contract you signed with lawyers and Zeni that you would be granted points above and beyond what they chose to allot you upon delivery of the system, I don't see how they've entered into anything binding with you or anyone else that plays.
Did everyone just forget how the world works when I went to bed last night? Am I the only one aware that people can say one thing and then change their minds in the future? This is not some Dad who spent the Disneyland money on booze, it's a game who's design direction took a turn while in development, happens all the time.

What is legal and what is ethical are two very different concepts and any business law class or ethics class will tell you the same. I personally have not seen a post yet state that ZoS broke a legally binding contract. However, that isn't to say that just because ZoS acted legally they also acted ethically. This is basic business 101 to be frank.
Perhaps you feel them reneging on a previous statement isn't important to you and that's ok, you have a right to your opinion.
Just understand though, that many do not hold that same opinion, and if they unsub then ultimately that hurts the game and you.
1.6 was supposed to be the game changing patch that brought players back to ESO. With the CP fiasco and other changes such as to the ultimate system, it may very well be driving players away instead. Time will tell, and ZoS still has an opportunity to correct course if they so choose.

Honestly Champion System WILL bring people back. Why?
Because Veteran System drove 75% people away! Only minority is complaining because they are treating this game like a damn job. Or like you're supposed to be handed everything to you.
If you get the reward thats fine if you don't its still fine. Why?
Because you are still getting one of the best progression system ever created in a game!! I seriously don't get it why are people crying over those few points, when there will be thousands of points, years of playtime added etc.
I know some of you are furious because they promised a few points extra. Keep in mind though the next time you tell your friend that you don't have time for a beer or whatever, you are also letting him down. And guess what he's your damn friend, ZOS is not even that!! Be happy they are producing these massive updates, be happy they are even interacting with us, because the community is becoming horrible lately.
