Resource Towers

Although not game breaking or new to Cyrodiil, resource towers are small outposts within held resources where organized guilds / groups try and farm AP from the opposing faction despite the said resource being held by the opposing faction. All factions do it and it is pathetic and cowardly to be honest. It doesn't take talent or skill to for a group of 4 or more to smash a destro staff on the ground repeatedly at the door knowing the players who are brave enough or dumb enough to enter will take 1k+ damage upon entry because stacks of ground AOEs await them along with bat swarms from the impulse spamming monkeys. It is the delay upon entry that these groups / guilds are "exploiting". Honestly something as simple as removing the door to the resource towers would help rid some of the plague in Cyrodiil. Let the organized groups / guilds go earn AP on the battlefield instead of cowardly hiding behind a closed door at a HELD resource as they "exploit" the delay players experience when they enter the resource tower.

    Or the people being farmed can just not go in. I'm always amazed at the number of people that walk into those tower farms. Some of them do it over and over. If there was no one to farm, then it wouldn't happen.

    Agree on both points but like to see it go away. AND no I don't go in without stacking some shields and with some back up. AND you both know it doesn't take long before these AP farming endeavors lead to an open siege of the keep that resource is tied to. So yes you can leave and then there is no AP but we all know it won't take long before more arrive. Just remove the door to the resource tower - seems simple enough to me.

    It seems like recently the solution is to destroy the tower.

    What would be nice is if this killed everyone inside. So they could hide inside or come out and die an honorable death.

    It's part of the game, it keeps things interesting as opposed to the constant "run to keep, shoot at wall, break wall, shoot at another wall, try not to die" rinse and repeat of many sieges. I would however like the ability to shoot through the windows. Otherwise I would say it's a moot point really, it is also incredibly rewarding to go in and stomp them out. If it works you feel awesome, if it doesn't work you go elsewhere and feel awesome. Either way I feel pretty awesome and don't require missing doors. Merry Christmas!

    I imagine the lift of AOE cap in 1.6 will slow this down ? Not sure but maybe .

    Nope wasn't at Roe Mine but was at Roe Farm last night and that AP farm group was actually kind of fun to fight. But the resources need much tweaking and I think we all would agree to that. They are so insignificant in the scheme of things unless it means cutting off transit or those couple of important ones for staging sieges on a keep. I guess the only significance resources do serve is for organized AP farming. Sure they buff the keep's defenses but we as players have refined our sieging to a level that those buffs seem so insignificant. Just seems stupid to have resource towers serve as a pseudo-outpost for organized AP farming NO MATTER who holds the resources. Remove the doors, make the windows actually open, make the doors susceptible to damage, etc. If my memory serves me once an alliance caps a resource the tower is no longer susceptible to damage but maybe I'm wrong here.

    Actually Im interested to see the change with the zerg buster bomb skill toss and blow.

    But really can Zos just put 2 guards on lower floor?

    A group did this the other day at the BRK mine. I went inside to scout, got killed, so told my group to set up siege and blow down the tower. Once the tower was down, we killed them. They ended up getting one kill and then feeding my group a nice defense tick.

    We also leave towers destroyed. Since any guards taking damage flags the resource. Even though once we lose it, the other faction repairs them.

    Mist form also makes it super easy to get by, get on top, and give them a oil bath.

    Towers are OP IRL too though so I don't get too mad about it. I don't like it either when this happens though.

    All it takes is two people to wipe a guild inside or even start the farm it self. If the 30 + players who show up to these farms can't instinctively figure out a way to kill the players farming AP quickly then pvp isn't for them. Most of the time all you need to do is walk away and go stealth of in the distance for a few min and they will leave.

    What they do need to fix is the leaking of AOE's through the doors and walls . I'm pretty sure that's not intended .

    Its the same with the groups that go to the third floor of a keep and break the stairs. You either don't go up and wait til they're bored and come down on their own, or you go up with a large group.

    Just a couple of people with heavy AOE damage would be able to hold that door forever, because even if 20 people popped through at the same instant, they would all be hammered by the AOE in the second or two of transition time.

    The ones who already know the strats to get through that door and up the stairs safely wont see a difference, the ones that do not or fail to execute, will suffer.

    You can't destroy the tower if you own the resource.
    If you're smart enough not to flip the resource, then that works, but there's almost always some pugs around who will flip it before you can siege the tower down.
    But we break up tower farms all the time, it is totally possible to get thru that door without dying, if you know what you're doing.

    I actually think that the removal of the AOE caps will help with this. Especially Zerg buster skill.

    But they should let us target people through windows and grates like you could early on in the Beta. I think it went away as part of the effort to make projectiles obey LOS.

    But I am sure if they really try they can get it so we can shoot through windows and not Shoot through walls.

    It would be hilarious to just sit outside the tower window and attack people with zerg buster bombs.
