Hi guys, pls excuse my bad English, but i have a question which is very important for me:

Are ZOS gonna make any change about blocking with shields?
I think most of u know what i mean. It requires no skill to take a sword and a board and killing everyone in Cyrodil who isn´t able to block as long as you can.

Are there upcoming changes?

    blocking is here to stay for foreseeable future, with future updates to armors/penetrations/spellcrafting it might get little more balanced tho, with upcoming sorc pet builds etc, blocking might have more counters, or not, wait and see, meanwhile pick up a shield and bash in some pixelated faces xD

    No, they will make it even better. With the armor changes heavy armor S&B guys will be impenetrable to everything while light magicka user will only be able to one shot kill each other when they miss raising some damage shield that is effective only to magicka attacks. Welcome to ESO 2.0.

    1st off 1 shooting will never happen, see how fast they 'fixed' all powerfull openers that chained with other button clicks demolished most builds.

    Ok, Ok. We will just two shot each other when we forget/can't put our shield up and are hit by a volley of photon torpedoes,

    We all .. well those who care been asking ZoS to get ride of block casting and 360 block and just fix blocking in general since the game launched and for some reason they see no problems with it... so unfortanaly the OP blocking is most likely here to stay for awhile and with it horrable PvP

    it is always the same lol you mention how OP something is (lets be real, the defense from S&B is SLIGHTLY outrageous) and people will flock to it to defend it.

    Although the best thing I have seen so far is the L2S&B comment lol because that IS the truth. That is right is it not @zos ?

    Ultimates dont feel ultimate when a simple shield can reduce the damage from METEOR to 56-90 damage (down from 1k+), or soul assault to pathetic damage. There is something wrong with it even if people dont want to admit. I wont say nerf it, because that is a *** storm I would prefer not to deal with.

    Sorry OP; the reduction from Blocking is here to stay as well as Blockcasting. Either join them and use the crap out of the stupid stuff (like everyone else does) or stay frustrated to no end in pvp (like me).

    I am by no means a horrible player BUT I usually give up when I see people switch to sword and board during a fight as i know there is no way of getting through that defense. Max spell damage, 52% crit, 2600 magicka, and the shield makes all my sorc skills look pathetic (though they were already to begin with). GG is GG

    How can anyone expect to take you seriously when you don't know Soul Assault can't be blocked?

    Sure ZOS is gonna make a change to blocking, you won't have to worry about that pesky building ultimate while doing so :D Thanks ZOS for keeping life simple. Blocking and watching how much ultimate I have at once, that's too much work.

    I kid, and I'm sure that's not the actual reason for removing ultimate gain from block
    And so did many brave men, women, and beast fall to the end of Beta, never to be heard from again. All that is left, is whispers of the adventures they had.

    The amount of damage mitigated by S&B is absolutely ridiculous. Let's hope 1.6 brings some more sanity.

    Anyway, actually there will be some changes.
    With the removal of soft-caps light armor will become more squishy to weapon damage and there will be no more ultimate generation from blocking.
    If block and casters will switch to heavy armor, they won't have the magicka to spam their instant shield/heal/damage skills for so much.

    And then it comes the DK in heavy armor :v
    Jk about this, I don't think DK class is OP.

    No, tanks need to be tanky. The problem is that every one and their mother can be a tank and still dps the crap out of people. Tanks should be tanks, massive damage soakers but pathetic at putting out damage. Right now there isn't really much of a sacrifice to dps and tank at the same time.

    Totally agreed.

    Tanks should be tanks, healers should be healers & DPS should be DPS.

    Currently, everyone who plays competitively in PvP is a "tank healer DPS".

    If you want to play two (or even three) roles, there should be significant drawbacks for it, simple as that.

    Ways of achieving this:
    • Separate spell damage & healing. People would have to get their gear for specific role, not three roles at the same time (dmg shields - tanking, heals - healing, dmg spells - dps). As a result, the damage of spells could in fact be increased slightly to the level of stamina skills.
    • Revamp the CC system, make CC do what it is supposed to do: crowd control, instead of its current usage: draining opponent's resources.
    • Give dmg shields/heals a cast time, giving players a chance to counter them.

    I'd go with the first option for starters, as it should be relatively simple to implement and would actually add a lot more depth to itemization & passives/skills as well.
