Hi all!

My name is Ransyn and I am the Guild Master of Blades of Vengeance (BoV).

BoV is Australian based (Oceanic time zone) and as a guild has been around in one form or another since 2007. We began in World of Warcraft and since then have been active in Rift, Lord of the Rings Online, Tera, Aion and The Secret World.

Our focus has always been gathering a solid group of people together who enjoy gaming, good company, some laughs and some drinks (Alcohol makes raiding better IMO).

Our aim will be to experience as much of the game as we can and do so in good company. We will never be leading the way with raid progression, and “elitests” will probably be disappointed with our style of raids, which tend to be more about enjoying the time, rather than bashing our head up against a wall because the run was scheduled to go for 4 hours.

That being said, we WILL be Raiding, we WILL be PvPing and we WILL be progressing!

It was a great show of Guild Camaraderie tonight.

Scam put the call out in guild. "EP are 1 keep away from gaining Emperorship. Come and help us defend."

The guild answered.

As I write this we have half of our online Members in Cyrodiil fighting back the EP hordes! It's a great thing to see, and I am very proud to be a part of a guild that has an awesome community like this.

Even if we get overrun, our ghosts can sit back and relish in the fact that we did not go quietly!

Blades of Vengeance (BoV) has been around since early access and is still going strong.

I'll reiterate what I said in the very first post. BoV is an active, social, Oceanic guild and we are looking for more members to bring into our growing community. We are looking for people who want to be a part of a close knit group and want to experience everything ESO has to offer. My goal with this guild is to is to build a strong community of gamers, so that even when the game gets boring, people still log in to chat with their friends and guildmates.

Community Feeling: Right now we are in the process of deciding, as a guild, what our Tabard should look like, and we are also redesigning the guild logo for the website. Once our new logo is complete, I will be giving our website (bov.shivtr.com) a complete makeover and I am encouraging all guildies to register on the website and give me ideas on what would make the site better.

I also encourage all guildies to jump onto our Mumble server. We normally have at least 3 to 5 people on there most nights and in my opinion, the game is more enjoyable when you're talking crap with guildies. It is also a great way to pick up tips and tricks that other people are using as they play through the game.

Members: Last count, we have 126 members in guild and over 1/3 of those people have been online in the past 7 days. Our peak times (between 7pm to midnight, daily) sees between 20 - 30 people online at one time, and that number is growing steadily.

Future Plans: Up to this point, we have been focussing on getting our characters to VR12, and our events have been geared towards that goal: Skyshard runs, world boss kills, dolmens, delves and a weekly PvP night.

We now have enough people getting to VR12 to start experiencing Endgame as a guild group.

As such, while we will still have all of the above guild events running, and I am also going to start putting up scheduled Veteran Dungeons runs. In about 2 - 3 weeks, we're going to stick our noses into our first guild Trial and see what happens.

Summary: All in all, it is a very exciting time for the guild, and the community as a whole. I would encourage anyone who is looking for an active, social, Oceanic guild, to seriously considder joining up. A lot of other guilds have fallen apart or had their leadership disappear. BoV is here to stay!

Blades of Vengeance are actively recruiting again!

Currently sitting at around 120ish active members, we are looking for new blood to swell our ranks. We are looking for social people who want a fun Oceanic guild to explore Tamriel with.

We are running 1 PvP and 2 PVE nights per week at this point and would like to get more people interested in our Cyrodiil and Trials runs.

Our weekly event calendar currently consists of:

Tuesday - PVE / Trials
Wednesday - Cyrodiil
Saturday - PVE / Trials

All Events start at 9pm (Melbourne time) right now, however with some states moving their clocks forward this weekend, the starting times are currently being reviewed.

7 months today, we created this guild. So in honor of that momentous event, I decided I should update our recruitment messages.

BoV is still going strong. Still have 100+ members and the majority of those are active within the last 7 days.

We are a great community of players and while some of our members have put down ESO for the time being (people are waiting for the Champion and Justice systems) we all still keep in contact and have a growing community of people on Steam.

So today I've been surfing the net, looking for ideas for future guild events that do not involved dungeons or raids. The plan is to have one of these "fun runs" once every 2 weeks, with the winner getting an in game prize such as gold, items, or the chance to redesign the guild tabard for a month.

Recruiting Drive Time!

I've been throwing out the guild recruitment message in Zone chat on a regular basis over the last week and the guild community has been steadily growing.

With the addition of the Undaunted Pledges in Patch 1.5, we're going to see a lot more ad-hoc guild dungeon runs. With all that in mind, we're holding off on starting up our Trials runs again for a couple of weeks, while people get used to the new patch and to give us time to promote the fact that Trials are coming to the guild again.

If you are one of those people who would like to try Trials, but have had issues getting a guild group or a PUG to take you in, you should definitely check out BoV. We take the time to make sure everyone knows what they are doing, going over the strats for the new people, so that everyone has an understanding of the fight. So while we don't have any speed runs (yet) everyone has a go and we all feel like we accomplish something.

We also have several competitions running on the guild website right now with in game prizes for the winner. As an example, we have a screenshot competition running for the next month, with the winner being able to choose from one of the following prizes:

20,000 Gold
A Legendary (Yellow quality) item of their choice
Redesign the guild tabard for a month
We are trying to encourage people to use all of the resources we have available and get everyone joining in on the In game events and website competitions.

So the guild had it's first "Fun Run" last Saturday. We started off calling it "Darts!" but ended up changing the name to "Lemmings". Check out the video and see if you can work out why.

All in all it was a fun night, and we had a great turnout from the guildies. 24 people in all showed up.

There will be more events like this to come, and they will hopefully had a bit of random fun to our ESO gaming.

Here's an overview of what BoV has going on in the next couple of days:

Tonight from 9pm: Guild Cyrodiil run - go in and kick some red / blue butts!
Tomorrow from 9pm: Guild Fun Run: Escort! - A fun little events with prizes for the winners
Sunday at Midnight: Entries close for the guild screenshot competition.
Next Wednesday from 9pm: Craglorn questing - group up and knock out some of these quests.
Every Day: Little competitions are run from the website with in game prizes.

We have over 60,000 Gold worth of prizes up for grabs just in the next week alone.

There also have people running the Undaunted Pledges every day and are looking to get guild Trials runs going again from early December.

So as you can see, there are many reasons to check out BoV as a guild and get involved!

The guild has been a little quiet over the past month or so. The release of Warlords of Draenor, Assassin's Creed, Dragon Age and a lack of new content on ESO have meant that some of our members decided to swap games.

We've been spending some time rebuilding our numbers, are back to having 30+ people online at our prime times and our guild events are once again going along nicely. The "Fun Runs" that are held every 2 weeks have all been great successes, we are now back in a running Trials every week and our PvP nights are picking up again too.

Because of all this, I've had a discussion with the Officers and we've decided to change the structure of the guild a bit and focus more on enabling people to be able to find other members for group content from within BoV. This will then lessen the need for people to "PUG" everything.

Here is how we're looking at achieving this:

NOTE: This post will be focusing a lot on the endgame content and our goals for that. There will still be non endgame related events, fun runs, naked runs and all the other goodness and we will be starting to do more for our Non Vet players, but I'll cover that in another post.

Guild Ranks

The current system (which is only really useful to me, from a guild maintenance point of view) is getting scrapped and we're going to go with something along the lines of:

- Explorer (Lvl 1 – 29)
- Veteran (Lvl 30 - 49
- Blade of Vengeance (VR1+)
- Elite of Blades (Class Leaders)
- Champion of Blades (Event Leaders)
- Guardian of Blades (Officers)
- Blademaster (Guild Master)

As you can see, it's more of a level based system, with the bulk of our guildies being a "Blade of Vengeance". All ranks will have full access to the guild bank and store. Now, bear in mind, these Rank names aren't set in stone, so if you have any ideas on Rank names you think sound good, please let us know!

Guild PVE Goals

We have a great mix of people in the guild. We have people who want to clear all endgame content, including Trials and Vet DSA, and those who are happier to go into more casual Trials runs and just have fun.

The goal then will be get to the point of running the following each week, as a guild, so we can cater to everyone:

- 1 to 2 "Casual" Trials groups. No stress, just good times.
- 1 Speed run for the weekly leader-board quest.
- 1 run of the highest tier of endgame content . This will be a bit of a more serious run, and we will need to be a little selective as to who comes to these runs, so we can ensure success.

I want to include Vet DSA in here somewhere, but I think aiming for these Trials groups is a good starting point.

Guild PvP Goals

- 1 PvP night per week where we have a group of 16+ people specced and geared for Cyrodiil (+Crit resist gear, Negate fully upgraded etc), complemented by casual PvPers.

Each aspect of endgame requires a different set of gear and skills to be really successful, which brings me to my next point.

Guild Workshops

We will be running guild "Workshops" which will be open forums for people to come in and discuss their builds, skill setups and tactics. We have some people in guild who are able to pull some crazy numbers, and we want to share the knowledge on how they do it.

These will be informational sessions and will not be mandatory or anything like that. If you are interested in increasing your DPS, Healing or Tanking abilities, then come along and listen to what people have to say.

We will in no way be saying that you HAVE to run a certain way to come along to our events, that;s not what we're about, but we want to give everyone the opportunity to learn what has been working for people.

We have not set up these events as yet, but I imagine they will be running from early January.

Summary

With all of these goals in mind, we will probably be increasing the guild's numbers a bit, so that we have the player base to be able to achieve these goals.

We will also be looking for people who are interested in helping the guild by running events, or helping with guild coordination etc. So if there is something you think you would like to do (Recruitment, Keeping the Guild Bank clean - someone say yes to this... PLEASE, lol - running events) please let either myself, Magpie, Scamandros or Spartan know.
