Although passives are helpful for min/maxing, I've always played a dark elf in Elder Scrolls games. The passives turned out to be a nice bonus, since I'm a vamp too. Even so,my main would always be a Dunmer, regardless of passives.

When you roll up a class, how much do you care about racial benefits?
I'm now rolling up some other-faction bank alts that might some day be leveled and thinking about non min-max things like how will my race choice fit into this faction's story? I'm not an RPer but I think about stuff like that. For example, I have an AD Argonian, and I feel good knowing that he came from the Argonian village of refugees/exiles in Grahtwood.
Or what race looks cool and haven't I played?
Is it really so wrong to be an Orc Sorc? I mean health is always a good benefit, right? But heavy armor, not so much. ...
On the other hand, I like to know what benefits I am gaining or forgoing with a certain race + class combo, so it causes me to be indecisive.
How do you determine your race/class selections?

I have an imperial destro/resto staff sorcerer that is working out just fine.
I made an Argonian Dragon Knight sword and shield because I thought it was kind of funny that a water based race would be using fire magic.
I might make a huge tatted up nastly looking orc and dress him up in pink light armor and give him a bow just for kicks and giggles.
