    Morrowind
There are 3 types of ES players. Those that started at Morrowind, those that started at Skyrim, and those that pretend they played Arena or Daggerfall.

So as a player who started on Oblivion I don't count as an Elder Scrolls player, that makes me a saaad panda.

Don't be I was just joking.

    Oblivion
My first ES title was Oblivion. First character was a Nord that looked and played like Faramir, who later turned into a Witch king type of character (DB robes and armored gloves/boots. Don't ask.

I only started getting into ES lore with ESO though, both Oblivion and Skyrim being just my personal sandbox, not carin that much about the lore. Till then I (mistakenly) thought it was shallow and not noteworthy. Turns out Morrowind, a game that to this date I haven't played is the best, lorewise (imo). Feel free to crucify me but the graphics, even with mods, make my eyes bleed nowadays. I just can't get over that. I'm not a graphics *** but they haven't aged that well...

    Morrowind
I was unaware of Arena at the time that it was released. I was more focused on an online multiplayer fantasy game to be watching for obscure single player MS-DOS games. People said that I should try Daggerfall and Morrowind but I was too busy and single player fantasy games held no interest for me. I picked up Morrowind GOTY a couple years after I stopped being focused on that online multiplayer fantasy game. People were right, it was a perfect fit for me, right down to the detailed lore that I was used to having in my own fantasy worlds. Sadly, they released The Elder Scrolls Construction Set. Skooma for an addict. I have modified every TES game since then. I simply cannot play fantasy games without wanting to make changes. This is why I have stuck with TES games for all these years.

I know, that's why I said "that makes me a saaad Panda", I was trying to be funny back.

    Oblivion
Oblivion for me. Was late to the party too. Really enjoyed it though, so I picked up Skyrim as soon as it came out joined TESO for the beta. I did try Morrowind also, but I couldn't get used to the combat.

Please stop making requests for game features. ZOS have enough bad ideas as it is!

    Oblivion
I had seen both Arena and Daggerfall long ago but as my ex controlled what games we got for the computer, he would NOT ALLOW them to be purchased. After the divorce, my then teenaged son decided to show me the game a friend had let him borrow. It was Oblivion. All it took to hook me was Patrick Stewart and Sean Bean.

    Oblivion
Somehow, I never took notice of RPGs until I tried Oblivion. Arena and Daggerfall were a bit before my time and when morrowind came out, I was more into the strategy, tactical shooter and simulation genres.

I've since picked up morrowind, but can't bring myself to try it. I believe to enjoy a game that old, I need to wear pink nostalgia glasses that filter out the graphics and mechanics. E.g. I can still enjoy freelancer today, because I loved it back when it came out, but if I had never played it back then and tried it today, I would definitely not enjoy it.

    Oblivion > Skyrim IMO.
And (again IMO) ESO > Skyrim too.

    Morrowind
I bought Morrowind for the original xbox about 10 years ago. It was the very first rpg I ever played. After starting it up and creating my char, I was immediately captivated by the story and environment. It was beyond epic and I spent hundreds (if not thousands) of hours into the game. Loved Oblivion and Skyrim as well but always wanted some kind of multiplayer. ESO was a dream come true :)
