How to make ESO more like Skyrim!

Hey so I thought I would share my little tricks, mods, and software I use to make the game more immersive.

The first thing I would have to recommend is using ESOlauncher + SweetFX for ESO
Basically this makes the graphics in the game look SO MUCH BETTER. The draw distance is GREATLY increased, there is no fog blocking your view, the colors, effects and world look a lot more vibrant.
Google Esolauncher. Its the first page on google. Download both files and put the contents in your client folder.
*Note you will need a decent graphics card to extend the graphics*

The next thing I do is i hotkey my middle mouse button to "Toggle UI On/Off" in the keymapping section inside the game. It replaces "Free Look" which I find pointless.
Now when ever you go to talk to someone click the middle mouse button and all your user interface goes away... that way you don't get distracted by the words you just watch and listen. Also good for when ur just running around.

The last thing I do is use a AWESOME addon called Azurah. It allows you to customize your ui by moving around different parts, resizing them or removing them. This means less clutter on your screen and more immersion!

So... anyone else have any tips they use to make the game more IMMERSIVE? Cause thats what Skyrim was... immersion.

If I wanted it to be more like Skyrim then the first thing I would do is crash it to desktop every 10 minutes. Then after about 6 patches I would have it crash to desktop every 30 minutes or when I jumped in water. And every so often I would have everyone in zone run backwards then crash to desktop.

Then I would pick up a runestone and crash to desktop. Then I would make a piece of armor and crash to desktop. Then I would erase all my characters about once a week and have to start over. Then I would put a huge crack down the center of my monitor to replicate the graphical glitches.

Then after 3 weeks of searching for help I would find some guy who was able to make a patch that the company couldn't make even after a year to allow the game to actually work. Then after fully enjoying myself getting really into about half the game I would erase my characters and crash back to the desktop.

Dang that sucks unfortunatly I only had problems when I was first starting modding never had issue with vannilla skyrim before. Could be a ram/processer /graphics card issue also use the unofficial patches cause they fix alot of other things the official patches neglect.

Its the same Computer I use now. And runs everything else fine. Only runs ESO at 45 frames since 1.4 I think. Used to get 100 FPS then after one of the updates 30-45.

Well its not and will never be... but for me what the best thing about skyrim was... was how i felt immersed. I never felt more immersed in a game then my modded skyrim so I am giving ideas on how to make the game feel more immersive with better graphics and less clutter in the ui

    Again...That was unmodded :disappointed:

Seriously took me over a year to beat that dang game from all the problems.

Actually funny story. Before I realized this was ZOS making this game and signed up for beta one of the questions was "Why should we choose you?" I said "I paid $200 bucks for Skyrim. And after all the problems I had with it you kind of owe me one.

Yeah i know, But in the case of Skyrim it doesn't matter if modded or not. It doesn't work either way.

You don't pay for a finished product, it's more like a "pay to become one of our developers, without knowing it" - system. Or a "build your own game out of chunks of code we threw into a folder" - set.

Yeah. Two friends and I still am Skyrim. All three have massive amounts of different mods. If we sit and play next to each other, people literally think it's three different games.

Point being everyone thinks it's something different. Eso could be a little closer though.

I agree but one thing they all had in common was the abilty to change aspects of the game if you wanted to... to make the experience more enjoyable for you. I wanted more immersion which for me means having better graphics and less info stuff on the screen to make it feel like im IN a world. Doing those 3 things made it feel like that more

I had over thirty mods with Skyrim and it rarely crashed. My computer system at the time was state of the art costing me $5000 to build. I'm still using the same system playing ESO , but it's starting to show its age with the 2014 games such as Farcry 4, etc.

Think my system is worth about $100 now and that only because I upgraded the graphics card to a Geforce 680 several years ago.

I haven't had vanilla Skyrim crash on me since early 2012. Even modded hardly ever crashes, it did only with a badly constructed mod setup. I know this isn't only my experience.

Sound like a computer problem. I ran almost a hundred mods and hardly ever crashed. I'm surprised you can even play ESO if it's the same computer.

I disagree with your opinion. This game is suppose to be the MMO version of The Elder Scrolls series, so it should be very much like past TES games. And it is.

To make ESO feel more like Skyrim they need to add children NPCs and a housing system like Skyrim's.

Same I make a tab called "Immersion" and have no chat options on it.
Some addons help the game feel more like Skyrim though.

Yes! I definitely play with ESOLauncher+SweetFX. I don't think I'd be able to enjoy the game nearly as much without these two features. It's like a completely different game.

I have over 100 mods for it because of this. 80% of them are simple fixes, things that should have been included, and graphical touch ups.

Let's not forget once you get mods, you then have to mod the mods to get them to work together using wyre bash and such. The whole thing becomes a "yo dawg" moment..
And so did many brave men, women, and beast fall to the end of Beta, never to be heard from again. All that is left, is whispers of the adventures they had.

No. But its still a TES game online and should be as close to the other TES games as possible.

It's pretty much as close to TES as i can be given its MMO state. You have to remember, it is a company first. It must appeal to a WIDE range of hardware from top of the line to laptops/old pcs. Even on low settings, the shear amount of things that have to be processed weight heavily on machines.

You also have to consider size. My ZOS program folder (not the document one with mods) is 36Gb, it was 20Gb initially if I recall. That's already pretty good size. If you increased the resolution of everything in the game to say Skyrim quality, the size would be insane.

Skyrim's world/main map encompasses I'd say about a quarter if not less of the world that ESO does.

You just can't make an MMO with that high quality without excluding a good chunk of your fan base (currently anyways). Like every MMO ever, I suspect it will get graphical updates overtime, it already has. But I wouldn't ever expect it at the quality of a single player game

Edit: Unless you're simply referring to the game mechanics, in which case Skyrim isn't a good example since the mechanics are far different than previous TES games

So much crashing, so many memories...

Some days I'd spend more hours trying to fix the thing then actually playing it. Maybe that's why I'm not to fussed when people go on about how "bugged ESO is, I'm used to unstable games with incompleteable quests. Still it's half the joy really, kind of a surprise "screw you" that keeps me coming back :D

Maybe there never was any bugs at all! Maybe they had an advanced AI in the game to mess with players and they named him Sheogorath!
