Creative story's for why we stay with ESO

Honestly I have read a lot of posts complaining about stuff in the game and I sit and wonder what game are they playing. I have to ask myself what the complaints stem from. Is it that people are use to other games and they want ESO to be like them, or is it actually stemming from some difference they find in going from all the console versions of Elder Scrolls to this one.

I mean, I have to admit that I have gone in and slaughtered a whole town just so I could call it my own when playing Morrowind, but I am more than good with that not being an option in this game. (Had to hide all my stuff before getting arrested) Besides, if I cleared the town, what would the next guy do when he got there?

And I see where some of the complaints are valid, but seriously, if your life is so miserable that you can't get by without bashing everything good in this world....how do you say K**L Y******F without getting moderated? (See how that works).

I know we have seen plenty of discussions about what you like about ESO, but considering what time of year this is, I had to try another one. Looking for some creative story telling while giving reasons, or a creative bard like style when dropping the tale of how you came to know you'd be sticking around, or some legendary tale of you and your comrades that makes you stay with ESO. I want to know what and who keeps this game entertaining for you. (I put the story in the spoiler if you want to read it, but that is what I am looking for.) Get out your creative side and show us what you got in the skills of storytelling. I want to hear about the moment when you decided this game was for you.

"As I sat on a rock in Cyrodiil over looking the battle that raged on the field before me. Metal struck armor and the clashes and screams were like music to my ears. Ebonheart Pact and Daggerfell Covenant were in a heated battle over some resource or other, didn't matter as I flew the yellow banner of Aldmeri, but the coppery smell of my enemies blood staining the grass was almost as intoxicating as Skooma. I was soaking in the sounds and sights of this heated conflict, while my mind wandered to what had brought me here in the first place.
I shifted in my heavy armor and wished I had changed into something more suitable to sneaking, I was on a scouting mission after all, but there was a familiar comfort within this battle worn set of armor, when a voice as golden as the sun came floating to my ears. At first, I thought it was my imagination. I listened for the source but heard nothing except the dying breathe of the poor Sorcerer that got caught in the middle of casting by a stealthy Night Blade that made quick work of him. I was chuckling inside, when I once more heard that voice. I jumped from the rock, ignoring those that continued to fall in the battle that had occupied my attention just moments before. I heard that voice once again calling out, and I knew I had to find her. That voice, that sweet, sweet voice was calling to me. As I got closer, I began to make out the words, "Legends of the Aldmeri is recruiting members. Looking for a solid guild with active members. PST." What was this. I had traveled alone for so long, I almost had forgotten what it was like to belong to something. That call came again and it tugged at some part of me that I had long since thought was dead. I had to answer, "What must I do" I asked. That voice gave a small laugh, "Just accept my invitation." It wasn't even something that I had to think about, I opened myself and was quickly engulfed in a bright light. I had to cover my eyes to avoid the blinding flash that literally outshone the sun itself.
When next I looked, I was in a guild hall, surrounded by others that were vying for a position in front of me. At first my hand reached for my sword, glittering at my waist, screaming to be drawn to ward off this attack, but I realized they were not there to kill me, they were there to welcome me.
As the adrenaline slowed, I could hear the greetings and the actual words, "WELCOME, do you need better gear, let me help", "WELCOME, that shield is okay, but you should try this one", and the words that just stopped me cold, "Welcome Morshire, is there anything you need?" It was that voice. The voice of a true leader actually asking what I needed! I didn't know whether to kneel or not, so I just stood, dumbfounded. This whole thing was setting my head swirling and I almost ran out before the Harvester appeared and tried to kill me.
To keep my tale short, I still wander the fields of Cyrodiil looking for bodies to send to the the Planes of Oblivion, but I now end my days in a hall, drinking with friends and swapping stories about the dungeons I visited or the loot I have discovered all over Tamriel. A mixed bunch of riffraff, but no matter the story, we are the Legends of the Aldmeri and I have found my home."

People who make me want to stay;

Special shout out to @Thunderjennings for taking me in and my guild mates for making it a home.

@Meiliana for talking with a lonely warrior whenever I need advice.
@shadowterryelf for being the best "online" friend for the past 4 years.

Follow me if I advance, Kill me if I retreat, Avenge me if I die.

When this immediate evil power has been defeated, we shall not yet have won the long battle with the elemental barbarities. Another evil, it may be an invisible adversary, will attempt, again, and yet again, to destroy our frail civilization. Is it true, I wonder, that the only way to escape a war is to be in it?

If I die, you are forgiven, If I live, I will kill you.

Maybe I don't understand exactly the point of this thread but I stay and still play because of PvP abd in hopes one day this game will be the best MMO.

I'll take it, but was hoping for some good old tavern talk about tales of the good you have found while being in game that keeps you here. You know, "Addicted to the feel of my blade carving out the hearts of the enemies of (whichever flag you fly in PvP). That's what keeps me here."

Or something like it. I put mine in a spoiler so people didn't really need to read it to go on....should I take it out?

Enjoyed your story, not creative enough to write my own.

Stay here mainly for the PvP (even though it is in dire need of work and improvements) and for the lore-setting of the game. My girlfriend and I both enjoy Elder Scrolls, and this incarnation lets us share the game together.

When it comes to PvE, I have mostly just taken to logging off and booting up one of the single-player Elder Scrolls games instead though.

Cyrodiil is great fun when it is working correctly rather than a mass of lag, and playing an MMO in the Elder Scrolls universe is awesome in general.
    Those are my reasons.

I play this game and have stayed because I find it to be fun and a great way to relax after work. Plus the potential of the game and the content they will most likely release keeps me excited.

I played EQ for 13 years straight. Miss the game and really had no complaints with it. They did a great job and i loved the lore of the world. I continue playing this game because it stands the best chance at being my next EQ. Hopefully the devs will figure the bugs out, and i hope the game advances in the way the player base really needs it to. However, it is still new, so there is still tons of hope

I apologize for the confusion of this. Guess it isn't going to work the way I was hoping for. Was looking for some creative story telling while giving reasons, or a creative bard like style when dropping the tale of how you came to know you'd be sticking around, or some legendary tale of you and your comrades that makes you stay with ESO. I appreciate all the comments. I think I need to pull it down. Can't do it from the phone for some reason.

Thanks to all who did stop by.

Because I'm still having fun. There is no more complicated reason than that. If I stop having fun, I'll quit.

I play games to have fun. That's the only reason.

I stay because it's a great game. I have no interest in PvP so any issues with Cyrodil don't concern me, and I have had little or no trouble in any other respect. It felt early on to be one of those few games that I know I will play for years.

This is what happens when you try to RP in general discussions

I was actually hoping to read some good stuff but no go. I'll try to help you out, just off the top of my head:

"Watching the rush of new recruits had me grinning... though I knew most of them would die quickly within their first few moments, another large group within the first week, and those who were smart enough would walk away as soon as they could.

To be fair, these Undaunted fools weren't training the recruits fairly enough before sending them to their ends.

It was a fresh group of faces that had me reminisce about my first few weeks as an Undaunted Pledgeling. The rush of combat, the variables of each encounter, the exhilarating feeling of overcoming evil within their own domains! Where had the times gone? New threats seem to pop up throughout Tamriel but my trusty companions and I manage to stay their hands! My favorite fight was against a Kinlord by the name of Rilis...

The *** had a fascination, some could call it an infatuation really, with the daedra of Oblivion. When we finally got through the Keepers he had managed to overcome mentally, we found him surrounded by daedroth... of all creatures! These over grown crocodiles loved to spit fire and hit hard, but not nearly as hard as my allies!

After some sound strategy and some great commitment to the Undaunted cause, we manage to put Rilis back in his place: dead! I cannot say the same about those daedric creatures found through the portal in the City of Ash... They seem to recreate the portal at will and every time my allies and I have to return to slaughter their champion! Maybe one day the Bosmer will figure out how to close the portals on their own... but what can one expect from alleged cannibals?"

Yep, even in it's improvable state, it's better than anything else currently available. At least PvE-wise. And I've got 683 days left, so why should I leave so soon?
"You've probably figured that out by now. Let's hope so. Or we're in real trouble... and out come the intestines. And I skip rope with them!"
