Option to Hide Shoulders

I'm glad that there's an option to hide the headslot, it'd be sweet to go an extra length to do what Guild Wars 2 does which is hide shoulders as well.

I want to hide everything except my head. Then enlarge it like 10 times. I want to be a giant floating head. /shout

Okay, silliness aside, I've often wanted to hide my gloves or weapon, so I think it would be a great idea.

When you have all the racial styles you can craft a variety of shoulder pads/Pauldrons/Epaulets. I recommend trying them out until you find some you like, even mixing Aldmer Light Armour Epaulets with heavy armour works (done that on my nightblade for first ten levels).

As for hiding Faulds/tassets, yes please, those things are ugly and you can't do much about them.

Just make it like Trion did in Rift, each slot has a radio checkbox next to it to turn it on or off at will.

They either need to let us hide them or redesign them to look less horrible. 90% of the shoulders in the game look crazy (I used to joke that the saviors armor shoulders were my wings they stuck out so far).

When did the option to hide 'head' armor lose the ability to hide 'head' covering for disguises?

We should be able to hide ANYTHING that essentially floats along with us in some strange magnetic field and that is NOT connected to our clothing/armor in any way. So yeah, Shoulders and those RIDICULOUS floating hip "guards" need to go. Seriously ZOS if you couldn't do it right and make it look as if it is actually ATTACHED to something you should have left it off, period. Failing that, at least give us an option so we don't have to look at that nonsense.

Age of Conan has it done right. Granted the game is shockingly bad however the options to hide every piece of armor is perfect.

well to go into more detail what they have is a second equipment window where you can display or hide the armor your wearing or display a visual armor that has nothing to do with equipment being used.

This to me is a complete no brainer,

Such a simple tool makes it much better.

Dyes are good and everything but from a personal standpoint I play a big burly nord and want to run around shirtless like that Rollo fella from Vikings. Good look no? Anyway it would be nigh on perfect to be able to do that in game. I know there are those that would be all "Ergh it breaks immersion!" or "Its not realistic enough" but you know what its a fantasy game the laws of realism go out the window when you can run around in a draugr costume!

Yesss! Also I want vanity slots for armor that overwrites the look of you armor. The different racial styles makes it seem redundant but for a lot of my characters I like the tattered rustic look of some specific low level piece of armor and it sucks having to give that up.

Basically I want them to do armor customization the way LotRO does it. Only add weapons and shield too. As in you can replace the visual of your mace with the look from a different mace, etc. Not make your mace look like a sword.

Heh, I enjoy wearing armor that doesn't look like the class I play, it helps me hide from PvPers who are looking out for certain aesthetic cues on who to target. I wear a hood, so it's nice not to have people spotting me for a Magicka user thanks to hiding my headpiece. If we could hide everything though? I dunno about that. I mean yeah it would be funny to see huge forces of nearly-naked players clashing in PvP (because who wouldn't want to hide one of the biggest cues of their playstyle?), it would just be awkward and distracting to see people running around everywhere with all their stuff hidden. The occasional shirtless or pantsless character is one thing, but turning Tamriel into a nudist colony is a bit much lol.
    Character List [RP and PvE]:
Stands-Against-Death: Argonian Magplar Healer - Crafter
Krisiel: Redguard Stamsorc DPS - Literally crazy Werewolf, no like legit insane. She nuts
Kiju Veran: Khajiit Stamblade DPS - Ex-Fighters Guild Suthay who likes to punch things, nicknamed Tinykat
Niralae Elsinal: Altmer Stamsorc DPS - Young Altmer with way too much Magicka
Sarah Lacroix: Breton Magsorc DPS - Fledgling Vampire who drinks too much water
Slondor: Nord Tankblade - TESified verson of Slenderman
Marius Vastino: Imperial <insert role here> - Sarah's apathetic sire who likes to monologue
Delthor Rellenar: Dunmer Magknight DPS - Sarah's ex who's a certified psychopath
Lirawyn Calatare: Altmer Magplar Healer - Traveling performer and bard who's 101% vanilla bean
Gondryn Beldeau: Breton Tankplar - Sarah's Mages Guild mentor and certified badass old person
Gwendolyn Jenelle: Breton Magplar Healer - Friendly healer with a coffee addiction
Soliril Larethian- Altmer Magblade DPS - Blind alchemist who uses animals to see and brews plagues in his spare time
Tevril Rallenar: Dunmer Stamcro DPS - Delthor's "special" younger brother who raises small animals as friends
Celeroth Calatare: Bosmer <insert role here> - Shapeshifting Bosmer with enough sass to fill Valenwood

Instead of having an option to hide any given slot, just introduce the Cosmetics system that LOTRO has.

ESO is already part way there with the costume slot.

Just add a "costume slot" for every clothing item slot.

That way we can have out characters look exactly how we want them to look.

EQ2 has the best alternate appearance setup IMO. Even weapon types are changeable i.e. , if you're actually wielding a S&B you can appear to be using 2H or Dual wield.

Alternately if they prefer not to copy LotRO system, they could add the ability to downgrade the visuals of armors, shields and weapons. Either on the dye station or the other crafting stations, don't matter. For example, let you change your level 40 armor appearance to level 30, 20 or 10, while keeping it the same racial and heavy-med-light setting. You should never be able to upgrade the visual to something higher then the items level, however.

This seems to me to perhaps be more in line with how they currently do things. Would still like the ability to hide shoulder pads and such though.

DCUO uses Styles with all their gear, once you've equipped the gear for that part of your body, you have that part in that style permanently. It's possibly my favorite way of doing gear appearance.
