Crafted Armor Sets

So in order to craft an armor set, am I right in thinking all I need to know is the required traits and then just use one of the special crafting stations?

You would need to know two traits for the item your crafting, and then use the appropriate special crafting station.

    Example: Death's Wind Armor Set

Use the DW station. You can create any item (sword, bow, gauntlets, belt, whatever) for which you know two or more traits (training, etc.) for that item.

The benefits of the armor set increase with the more items you have up to five items.

Slight correction, you need to know the number of traits that the crafting station requires (2, 3, 4, ... 8 is the highest I've seen but I'll bet there are ones requiring 9 in Upper Craiglorn)

Twice-Born Star requires 9 traits and the crafting station for that is in Craglorn.

Personally I think that, unless you really want the 5 set bonus from the high level stations, you only need a maximum of 6 traits. Personally I only need 4 traits because I'm after the "minor effects" which are shared by several sets, like "Increase Magicka", "add Spell Critical" and "add Spell Damage" which I can get from two/three items of some sets. I experimented and found that having different sets with the same effect will stack the effect. The effects are governed by the level of item.

Or you can install addon Crafting Stations, and you will see locations on the map.
