Getting 500 bank space for FREE!

Hi everyone so recently this was post up asking players that were leaving to join my guild because I wanted bank space. But I figured out a quicker way.
Less than 4 hours later I have a guild with 53 people in it and 500 extra bank space.

Here's how I did it and some tips.

Step 1: Create a Guild - Having a guild with only 10 members in it will grant the guild 500 bank space. The Guild Master aka YOU controls who is allowed to withdraw and deposit items in the guild
Step 2: Find New Players to Join Guild - New players are the easiest and quickest to recruit. If you look for players under level 15 to join your guild it is not only helping you.
  • It helps the new players as they have a larger access to people at their level to find groups to quest and dungeon crawl with.
  • It helps higher level guilds that are feeling tired of helping the lower level players.
  • It helps you because you get 500 bank space.
Step 3: Set Guild Bank Permissions - Make sure that all ranks cannot withdraw or deposit from the guild bank.

And thats it! Now it only took me 4 hours to recruit 53 people. Heres some tips to make the recruiting even faster.

Tip 1: Only Invite people at level 15 or lower - If you are running around sending random invites, send them to the new players.
  • They won't get angry at random invites like higher level players.
  • They are more likely to join because they are more likely to not be in any guilds. ITS WAY FASTER!
Tip 2: Go where the new players are - Have characters in all starter towns AND ALSO the tutorial dungeon. Keep rotating when you can't find new players to add.
Tip 3: Make sure you recruit more than 10 people - Having more than 10 peeps means when people leave your guild you will still be able to use your guild bank. People will leave when they either keep playing the game and get more guild invites or when they find out only you can use the bank and they might think that it is unfair.
Tip 4: Allow them to invite players as well - Now this works well because they get you more people over time. Make sure you give detailed instructions on how to invite in the "Message of the Day" because some of them might want to add people but not know how.

The reason this works so well is because you are recruiting new players. Alot of players will find the game boring and after 4-5 hours might never log on again. Once you have around 20 of these players that have played and have quit playing than you don't have to ever worry about losing your guild bank access. Heck, you could even boot all the other players and only keep your inactive players if you wanted to.

Hope this helps someone!

I thought of this idea too, but didn't have the guts to make a thread asking for it. :)

I hate that it's 500 slots or nothing. That's silly. They should give you like 50 slots per person in the guild or something, up to the 500 max at 10 people. Then at least my few friends and I could use a limited 200-slot guild bank to transfer stuff between us easily, without having to find 6 other random jokers just to unlock our bank.

Heck, if they even gave us 20 slots per person, it would give us something to work with. Having zero slots with 9 people and 500 slots with 10 is stupid.

As long as you give me full bank access I'm in! Not that I'd used it to steal all your stuff or anything. Since I'm...um... quitting. Yeah, quitting. That's the ticket!

Dude, you forgot to ask them to put all their gold and stacks of gold and purple mats in the guildbank as well
Or is that a bad idea as it means you will have less space for stuff you want to hoard?

I have had a guild bank to myself since August. It's nice. The good thing is that I don't even feel guilty for not sharing it, because I can't. The guild master quit playing without handing over leadership, I am the only one left with high enough rank to have full bank access, and I have no rights to promote anyone to my rank.

500 slots for personal use really does make inventory management very much less of a problem. I just have to be careful so I don't put any gold in that guild bank by mistake, because that would be lost forever.

For anyone confused about the above comments this was a thread about me asking people who were leaving to join my guild. I edited the topic to be about my new idea which is more efficient.

I like my old post about this better. It was conveying an idea that even if you were the Guild Master didn't mean you had to do ANYTHING for the guild you could just completely ignore them. Than once you had 10-20 inactive players you could boot all the active players so you didn't have anyone bothering you.

Because it's straight up sleezy. Inviting people to your guild, then denying them bank permissions, then booting active players is just wrong in so many ways.

Preying on new players is straight evil.

If this is a troll, then +1 for innovation.
if you are serious, then you might want to see a shrink.

But I am not preying on them. They still get access to everything except the guild bank. PLUS they have a WHOLE guild with people at their level which means they don't have to wait around in bored disappointment becuase everyone in their guild is to high level and the 10 other people who are aren't online.... its better for them.
As for booting other players its actually the nicer thing to do becuase they have a free spot to get a guild WITH bank permission and after three months they would be at a high enough level to fit in to a higher level guild.

Given that you recruit them and then ignore them while acting as their guild leader is pathetic. You actively make current eso players look like terrible people to new players. You then spread your filth to the forums, reddit, and who else knows where so that other people can also pray on new players and degrade our image.

So what, you just boot players randomly? Dont give them a heads up? Force them to rebuild what they shouldn't have to? What if they had befriended other people in the guild? What if they actually felt a connection to it? You just destroyed a small part of the game for them and may have caused harm to those players and the games community.

You offer no guidance or support for those players, you do nothing more than gather them together, gain the benefits, and get rid of them. It is not better for them, it is not better for the community, and it is not better for the game.

They can leave whenever they want. They have 4 more guilds to go into. *prey*
There were no promises made, there is an invite and that's it. If it becomes an inactive guild thats good, because the whole purpose of this idea to recruit inactive players. Look for the place where your most likely to get people who quit the game and recruit the quitters.
But if player's did get this "connection" to a guild becuase of some friends s/he made civil courtesy would be to make an announcement and message the active players letting them know the guild will be shutting down (make sure you do this when you have at least 15 inactive players) and give those player time to make their own guild.
Rebuilding would be as simple as picking a better name for a guild and inviting those players who wish to follow. I am sure that 1 out of those 50 players would after 3 months know how to do such thing.
But if you were in a guild that had 40 players 20 of which were inactive and the Guild Master NEVER did anything why would you stay? Oh becuase you have some friends? No any person with any commen sense would be like screw this guild guys lets make our own cause this guild is crap. (you want them to think this)
After three months anyone who is still in the guild is either an inactive player who quit or doesnt care about the guild and doesn't have any social interaction with it anyway.
Also you don't want the guild to get TOO big. This is when more connections happen. You want no more than 50 and after 3 months around 25 peeps. If your guild is getting to big people will get attached to it, you want a small inactive guild. To stop it from growing revoke the player invites so noone but you can invite. Than the people who actually are into the game will leave.

Thank you for your input btw. Part of the reason I put this everywhere is to see the obstacles to overcome. Your emotional response allowed me to see more truth.
And I agree the guild needs to be handled in a way where people do not get a connection, that active players want to leave. Anyone left should be given notice of vacate with instructions how to form a guild if they have formed connections.
Like I had in my previous post I made there guild rank name: Worthless Maggots
This would help people who were active in the guild leave. It wasn't just a joke.
In no way should you try to accomodate your guild members. If numbers drop low keep going to those spots where the lowest level players are for the highest chances of finding players that are most likely just gonna single-player the game and quit.
I am not for taking advantage of the players. That's why I said don't allow them to deposit items in the bank thats cruel.

How dare a guild member think to bother the GM.

I don't know what I find more disturbing. The fact that you actually think treating people like this is OK, or the fact that you have "insightful" and "awesome" tags on this thread.

These are new players to a game that are full of hope, lonely and looking to make friends. People like you are the reason guilds get a bad rap. This is absolutely shameful behavior. You are lying to them. You are inviting people to join a guild under the assumption that they are joining a collection of people willing to work together and help each other, to build friendships and trust.

Your true colors are very clearly reflected in the words above that I have highlighted. I feel so bad for every single unsuspecting person that joins your guild only to get ignored, booted, and used.

Yes I agree those words highlighted in my qoute are my true colors: a loner. I like the occasional group up with a random team to do a dungeon or having a a guild to do raids but only because I enjoy the varied content, and using my skill tactilly with my teammates to defeat bosses..
Although this is a MMO I enjoy it because its Elder Scrolls not because it's an mmo. I like the multiplayer functions in this game but just because this is an MMO doesn't mean I have to "build friendships and trust"
If some person has the "HOPE" of finding "friendship" than that person would join my guild and probably leave in less than a day as its being built on inactive members.
If someone joined my guild because they were "lonely" and they wanted to socialize I'm sure that he/she would be in local chat to some person get along with them and join their guild.
Getting a random "Barik.Morloc wants you to join A Bank press E" isn't much of a commitment. Its not some inspiring hopeful thing that they were yearning for. I was just some random guy who sent a random invite and they were like "huh whats that? Lets press E and see what happens... O nothing ok w/e"
If I was instead some socialable guy. Chatting with people, posting ads on zone chat about "How my guild is so great" yeh thats a bad person.
If I quest 2 hours with a person and we had an adventure and I was like "Hey man your cool" You should join my guild.... Just so I can invite him, ignore him, and boot him 3 months later yeh thats crap...
I'm ignoring them I don't speak to them. Most people after being ignored for a while will be like "screw this guild im leaving" GOOD I want INACTIVE members.

THERE IS NO ASSUMPTIONS. There are no promises made.

Huh? I've been using abandoned guild banks since the 7 day refunds back in April. lol It's the best way to get the most bank space without paying a dime. Granted, they left the game on their own decision/terms. Luckily, I was also in another guild where everyone left as well for the same reasons mentioned so I have two guild banks at my disposal. It's just me and another person in that one but we both have a mutual understanding of how we use the guild bank. He's a pretty cool guy too.

An extra 1000+ spots and no one got cheesed? Yup, works for me.
