DC(NA) please listen when all of zone says "don't cap the flag"

We see it over and over. A big group takes a resource and runs into the tower. All of DC /z will be screaming out not to retake the resource so we can take the tower down. Every time, a group of well intended souls will disregard all of it, take the flag, then run into the tower and die. Then respawn at the keep, run back to the resource tower and die again.

These folks didn't listen to anybody that said "don't take the flag" they're certainly not listening to everybody saying "stop going in there, you're feeding them ap","you're feeding their ults". And of course our opponents will keep doing this, because it keeps working for them.

And then there are those that circle the tower firing at it with regular ballista and stone trebs, as if by sheer force of will they can bring down a structure that we own.

Please can we stop the madness, please?

without ground oils its so hard to hold those farms now. 1 group who knows what they are doing can wreck a farm group way easier than they used to be able to.

What I can't believe is that these players keep doing it night after night. It's like they cannot be taught or are somehow intentionally ignorant.
It's becoming a routine tactic for EP (and sometimes AD) because these guys keep falling for it.

The real problem might be is that they know DC is unlikely to lolzerg blob into the tower, and they use that 'weakness' against us. It usually takes upwards of 20mins for enough decent players to gather together to push them out.
I mean it seems that the DC pvp guilds would rather just ignore them and leave them in the tower, than actually fight them. So it just leaves the pugs to handle business pug-style. :frowning:

Trust me, we do this to the other factions as well. You dont know how many times we have farmed sweet booty for hours in a tower.

And eventually that's what happens. But solid, organized groups are not the first responders when a resource flips. By the time the tower gets cleared there have been half a hundred DC deaths easily.

I sometimes watch and wonder "i don't think it's been 2 minutes since that guy last ran in there, at least he won't be worth much ap this time"

Most guilds have better things to do than break a farm.

    Far better AP gains elsewhere.

We would have to go do it a lot because otherwise like all 50 DC online would be sitting at that resource for an hour

Nah, some of us get bored with the show and ride away to siege something. There are only 45 left at the farm.

I've just started walking up to them and pressing F to whisper. Two nights ago I got two players to stop using ballista on a tower we owned. This was followed by /t to two more not to repair the tower we just destroyed for a reason.

On the bright side, I'm finding on average more and more DC are starting to get it.

Additional tip when dealing with the clown car tactics I found is to tab target. I focus fire on one till dead and repeat through the rest one by one til the group is all dead, or until my game crashes. Also never be afraid to back off and refuse to play this game. Head to a more important part of the map that needs attention, or lay in wait for them to get bored and come out.

This sort of thing is why I wish there could be an earned/unlocked commanders channel that showed up in chat as a different color. I may not be the norm but as a primarily pug player (sometimes with my guildmates) it can be tough to dig through all the garbage that is zone chat. After awhile you learn to recognize and trust what some of the names are saying but it is difficult for a pug with no prior experience to this kind of game to know who to listen to.

It might also be the rush that comes from breaking through the farming line that causes many to disregard all rational behavior, I know I've caught buck fever a few times myself and it can be very easy to get tunnel vision in some scenarios.

Actually that's a good point. With the Dee Tick value, it may be more worthwhile to cap the flag first then sit on it for a few. But the 20+min death stream needs to stop.

If you can't get in because the kids want to spam train , I just take what I can get without dying . I know it doesn't earn a Dee Tic but sometimes it is what is . At least I'm earning too .

That's going to be about as effective as telling everyone to just leave the resource. (rather than going into the tower)

    Yeah.

Sieging the tower down, as mentioned above, is truly the most effective method to end this.

The next best is subterfuge. Leave the pugs on the flag sieging the now friendly tower. Let a few die inside. Meanwhile keep a team stealthed and waiting. When that farm team gets bored and jumps out to flip the node again (to get some fresh meat back to their location), jump them instead, leading with negates and then AE them down while they're also dealing with NPCs.

Telel used to run into this situation so often on Dawnbreaker, Thorn, and Haderus that they eventually stopped forming groups except in the most desperate circumstances, or when drunk.

In many cases they found out that such people were either not english speakers (or claimed not to be), or they were a combination of young and or to self absorbed to be bother with strategy. A few also had forgotten to turn zone chat back on after the newb zones, but those were VERY rare.

It for that reason they tend to use the term illiterates instead of newb, bad, or other such not nice thing when speaking of that shadowy group of people who go out of their way to never do anything 'the right way'.

With the removal of ground oil it's easier to farm the farmers. You can still kill the ones upstairs and let oil, WoE, negates and DKs rain down on them. Just that you don't die so easily when coming down to clear the rest out now.
