boss broken in BC-tips to deal with it.

We've just finalized a fix for Imril, so you should no longer experience full block mitigation with Patch 6 when fighting that boss.

Rilis' base spell projectile attack is being changed to allow players to dodge it, as well. While we won't rule allowing players to block the base spell projectile attacks of bosses, it does introduce balance concerns.

We'll be evaluating all bosses with spell projectile base attacks before we decide whether to change these attacks to be blockable, as we want the behavior to be uniformly perilous but entertaining.

I can tell how the fight goes from my point of view as a NB caster DPS. The Imril fight depends much on dealing with adds. Divide the role of DPSes: one primarily on boss and one primarily on adds. I usually take role to deal with the adds.

One key thing is to watch the new blue balls. They "clock" the whole fight. Second important thing is to use Evil Hunter to adds.

The fight has timed rotation. Usually i stay near a wall and attack Imril from range. Keep an eye of the new blue balls from the pedestals. Imril runs into one ball after it lands and adds come out. The adds come as three repeating waves: banekins, bats (or whatever), clannfears. With some watching you should know exactly when next add wave comes. Keep reporting your group about the rotation.

Just before next wave i cast evil hunter and immovable. If the adds spawn in difficult position i use Lotus Fan to teleport to them but usually i just run to the latest ball where Imril will disappear. The other DPS can help with adds now and tank has a short relief. Banekins drop quickly, bats also but you may need to block their damage. Clannfears need ulti (veil) with AoE. Using CC to adds would be great.

For the last boss we also divide DPS roles: one proritizes on boss, daedoroth, and the other DPS on balls, daedoroth, boss. Healer should use purge for the bubble curse.

We kill daedoroths until boss is under 10%. When first daedra is left alive we pull the boss' health slowly to 10K. When second daedra comes and balls are dead i swap to resto staff and help with heals. When third daedra comes i shoot the balls (just in case) and others kill the boss.

Imril can be done simple by standing behind the pillar at right of the stairs, tank pulls her, and tank her just in front of the group. Use AOE if she spawns adds.

For the last boss, did it yesterday, one dps is responsible for the balls, one for the daedrots, do dps on boss only then both are down, then boss is down to 10-15% let daedrots live so one dps tanks the them until you have three, at this point pop an potions and execute boss.

its an hard fight so drop it if your not in an good group.

Thanks for the answer ...but i think you missed the point...you probably are not the tank or healer.I was not asking for the strategy of the fight I know them since a long time(BC was the easiest vet dungeon) and was also able to finish it in less than 30mn yersterday ...
The point is : their mechanics (ie :by pass block mitigation, by pass reflect skills )are broken .So how can we overcome those broken mechanics So kiting for first one is the easy solution But we can kite spells ...
    Thanks anyway.

I am a templar tank and what I do on these fight is as follows:

Imiril: Switch to DPS bow spec and gear we then go 3 DPS and healer for this fight. Bow allows me to lock down all of her adds and keep them from separating. Snipe and poison injection allow the group to kill her much faster.

Last boss: I keep him taunted and taunt the daedroth as they spawn. Depending on DPS we usually start keeping the Daedroth alive when boss hits 50%. I can heal myself while tanking all 3 daedroth.

The gear setup I use for last boss is: 5 Warlock(3 jewelry and 2 light) 5 Footman(5 heavy) and 2 Hist(Weapon and Shield)

This bug is very old! Guys, really, you noticed it only now? Broken Block (now I know that it was because of broken mechanic)
Yeah, it's pretty hard sometimes, but I completed it with VR14 team. Mechanic on final boss is pretty simple even with this bug: tank (me^^) taunts boss and daedroths, healer heal mostly tank, DD take care of balls. When Rillis at ~15-20% health - DD stop killing adds, and tank stop taunt boss (hold agro only on daedroths). Then DD execute boss. Done!

First thank you all for your comment since this my first thread that do not fall into oblivion right away AND that have an official answer. Was fun since I was totally expecting some of the off topic answer: poeple who just want to give there strategy but ignore the bug existence ; pro gamer that explain that the bug is not a problem since he can easily be overcome( you are right guys with 4 competents player playing as a team you can do everything in that game but not everybody is a ) competent b) able to play on a regular basis with the same competent player) BUT I was not expecting the DK healer thing(that one is great maybe another topic^^).
In any case I suppose that we (tank)need to prepare to roll spell in the future.
So medium armor tanking! Is this gonna be the new thing!?
    Bet are open.

I'm glad this will be adressed and am also hoping there will be a fix for the broken Spindleclutch fight with Praxin Duare in 1.6. Good work so far :)

@schroed360 I thought I'd come by and give you an update on this. It is being addressed as per this message:
Alright, after poking some of the other dungeon designers, we concede that the messaging is unclear in a number of cases.

So in response to this, multiple boss basic spell projectiles, including Rilis's base attack, have been updated so that they can now be blocked. They have also been scaled to have a slight damage increase. You'll see this change in 1.6's patch notes.

Some projectiles with special boss mechanics are excluded from this change, and will be able to be blocked on a case-by-case basis as before.

Dungeon Scaling introduced a number of cases where a boss's damage felt particularly anemic when compared to their peers, so their power was increased. This lead to Rilis in particular becoming more difficult to deal with for some groups with his original mechanics.

Which you can look through on my version of this same thread:

This sounds more like an exploiting mechanic where you're literally taking an element of the fight completely out of the equation. That's boring. No thank you.

We, as tanks, just want the block to work again. Pre 1.5, including PTS (I tested this dungeon since January of 2014) block has always worked. Once 1.5 dropped block stopped working. It's not a new mechanic, it's just broken. The tank eats WAY too much damage.

On top of that, there's no way to do the same thing on the final boss...

@schroed360 On the final boss, it's a PITA, but as a sorc tank I try to keep my light armor buff up (can't remember the name of it atm) when the lightning falls from the sky cause HOLY crap is it just too much damage with that + 1 or more daedroth + the boss beating on me. I don't even block anymore since it just makes me stand in the lightening longer than I should... sigh...

As for Imiril, I can't even complete that boss anymore without 900+ ST DPS and 3k+ AOE DPS in my group. So much for taking new guys through the zone. Tried last night, nope. Not happening.

Also, I made a similar post on this last night as well, I'm glad to see someone else stepping up and making the same issue known!

    @zos_jessicafolsom Any answers yet?

    My post: http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/142679/vet-bc-wtf

Yes i give you a point it is an exploit but when you are tryng to do it after the whole group died at 5% of the boos life for the fifth time oly because a single distraction can one shot the entire group you think about it......

Evry time i do the bc dungeon i dont tell nothing about the exploit we do the run (pug group most of the time) and if we cannot do it after 4 or 5 times i propose the thing only to go on.

Never got probs on the last boss can happen sometimes that the tank is taking too much dmg from the daedroth and the heal finish the mana but most of the time i do it in one try.
