So i completed Crypt of Heart vet dung which i really enjoyed but i never got a drop at the end from the end boss.I was the only player to not receive a drop for some reason, so was wondering if the drops are random or because i never dealt enough damage??

I was the Tank lol

Thank you

I had a tank miss out on boss drop yesterday too.
I was vr8, rest of group was vr2.
HE was the only one not getting drop.
    This was normal Selene.

Was the dungeon scaled to v2? If so, there's your problem. He was outside the limit.

I have had that happen. Hopefully it is fixed very annoying to go all the way through and not get the drop. Even for someone who doesn't focus on loot much.

You guys should read the patch notes more often. what guy guys are talking about were implemented with update 5 to the live servers (October 31st ). see quote below + link:

"When grouped, players with a Veteran Rank more than five ranks lower than other group members must now contribute sufficient damage to enemies to receive XP or loot from them.
    - This requirement was already in place for groups from levels 1-49."

As @Black_Wolf88 , indicates, it's actually not broken.

If you're more than 5 Vet levels below the next guy, you simply have to get some hits in and you'll get kill credit, XP's, and drops.

It's a very achievable amount, ran a dungeon the other day with a VR12, 2 VR14's, and a VR5 DPS and he had no issue getting enough damage in for kill credit.

Most groups are willing to ease off just a bit to ensure you are given that opportunity. Granted, it's harder be being the tank, but it's doable.

They did this to keep people from being extremely low level and getting carried through the grind.

You can also throw out some heals, which may be more reasonable as a tank, and get credit in most cases.

Yeah must have not dealt enough damage which is kinda hard if im Tanking a V12 boss and only V6..Still doesnt seem fair to me..

    So what of healers?
I recall that patch note. This however has happened to me when it was a spread of VR levels with VR5 being the highest. I am not saying it happens often but it has happened.

@Ommamar‌ , I suspect it goes that if you have healed a specific amount, you get the credit. If your group members at taking damage, and you are throwing heals out there, you will usually get credit, XPs, and loot.

This works for non-grouped individuals as well. Crank up the regen on a passer by, and if they heal is active when they get the credit (past the % mark), so do you.

Plus, you're likely doing damage with staff attacks/CC's, etc in addition to the heals. Dropping Ult's, you're getting credit.

@sickboy2808‌ , while I understand what they were trying to combat, they do need to redefine what the contribution is. Obviously if you're pulling aggro in order to allow someone else to do damage, you should be getting credit as well.

What's really funny is that one of my DPS group members did not get a boss drop one time. It really showed who was pulling their weight.

    Two rules effect loot

5 levels different above or below the level of the mob = no loot.
BUT they said all veteran levels are all classed as L50 for loot, so if your all veteran, you should get loot from any mob above L46

DPS %, any 4 man instance fight, you have to about 10% (some people did a lot of tests and say the exact number is 8.3%) of the damage or you get no loot. Healing is counted (but only a percentage, not 1 to 1)

This does screw over tanks who do low dps and it why a lot of tanks are having issues with the undaunted helm drops.

I have a feeling this is the same problem as Ultimate. DPS gain ultimate for doing damage, Healers gain ultimate for healing, but Tanks do not gain ultimate for tanking. The same game mechanics determining ultimate generation seem to determine "contribution". I never have trouble getting drops, I am sure I hit that minimum 8.3%, but I have yet to get an Undaunted helm. Might just be bad luck, but it feels like 8.3% is minimum to get a drop, but you need to be much higher than that to get the drop.

"Might just be bad luck, but it feels like 8.3% is minimum to get a drop, but you need to be much higher than that to get the drop.
From 87 guild dungeon runs (with add-ons to log dps and loot)
The best drops do appear to be going to the highest dps players. (with heals also counting at a 50% ratio it appears)
So under 8.3% = no loot but the NB who is doing lots of dps and lots of heals and normally doing 60% of the damage per boss, they always appeared to have very good luck with GOOD drops (not just loot, but rare set drops)

Still random is random, so no way to prove any of it. Would be nice for the Dev's to check this, I can see why that code should be active for world bosses and open public dungeons but this type of code should not be in private 4 man instances, as all members should have equal chance.
