EP says they flipped the map because they are tired of being double teamed. LOL

Daggerfall had their chance to do the smart, pragmatic thing. They did not exercise that option.
Think AD is trickling off of Thorn and moving to a new campaign... i pulled a EP and moved to a different campaign. i know i saw some players on the new campaign that used to be on Thorn.

I know it doesn't make much difference but I believe most of this occurred well before 4-5am. EP claimed emperor just before midnight EST as the faction was still pop locked with a queue of at least 10. AD and DC were both two bars at the time.
I hope my faction (EP) doesn't play too aggressively today as the last thing the NA campaigns needs is for both AD and DC to be discouraged and demoralized.

This is the bloody lulziest thing I've read in the last 20 minutes.
You do realize that 4-5am is PRIME time for Australia right? And they have a heavy presence on the NA server, meaning capping at that time of the early morning is nothing more than them jumping on with a few American night owls.
Idk how to fix 4-5am map capping, but I do know this should not be possible, and that it needs to be fixed.

@ZOS_BrianWheeler Will you weigh in on this? Your input could go a long why.

The after a while of this people started making counter groups to this and then large fights used to break out at about 4am and much fun was had by all.
I can't agree with this. DC pop locks everynight. Lower than EP and AD, yes. Not low though.LonePirate wrote: »Sorry but this doesn't mean anything to EU players. Context please.LonePirate wrote: »This is Thornblade NA for those wondering:
Is the map usually dominated by 1 faction? If so which one?
Is it a campaign that players actually fight for?
When the number of campaigns were reduced to their current number back with 1.3, Thornblade replaced Wabbajack as the primary competitive campaign where all three factions would aggressively fight and pop lock. The other campaigns (excluding Blackwater Blade) are primarily but not exclusively dominated by one alliance. A different alliance may briefly take over one of those campaigns but they revert back to one faction dominance eventually. Not so on Thorn NA which is the only NA campaign that regularly locks.
For the first couple of iterations, AD and their 24/7 pop that was always either 3 bars or locked would nightcap the map while the other populations were understaffed. DC would then commonly daycap the map to erase AD's gains. EP would reclaim all of their real estate during prime time and maybe grab another keep or two.
A couple of iterations ago as populations started to dwindle, the DC daycapping largely stopped but the AD nightcapping continued more often than not. It was common to see DC and EP going after AD as a payback for the nightcapping.
Starting with last month's campaign, EP's pop seemed to stabilize or at least not suffer the same losses as either AD or DC. The AD nightcapping slowed but it would still happen, especially prior to announced maintenance windows and campaign resets. AD went from being the dominant alliance from a population standpoint to being neck and neck with EP as far as population numbers are concerned.
Now EP seems to be the clear leader in pop numbers, although AD will sometimes exceed EP's numbers for a few hours each day. EP has crowned more emperors in the past week than it has in the entire duration of some campaigns. Anyway, as east coast US prime time was ending last night, EP remained pop locked while AD and DC started losing numbers. EP ran the map - possibly for the very first time ever on Thorn. If it happened previously, I am not aware of it.
I don't think this happened because of this morning's maintenance. I logged off a few minutes after we crowned a new emperor but we had already lost Ash at that time. I cannot say with certainty that the maintenance was the reason, though. The locked pop probably simply continued taking real estate and scrolls. Basically, last night EP became the evil faction doing the one thing we hated the most when AD (and sometimes DC) did it.
I welcome any Thorn NA players to add more details or provide any corrections to my summation of Thorn's history and present day.
This is quite accurate. I'll also add that DC numbers are quite low these days and several groups spent Sat/Sun on Haderus.
