This is lame. It's world PvP. Make it so only friends and guild mates from other alliances can whisper you, where you have to add them as friends or be in the same guild as them please.

How would you make new friends if you couldn't talk to anyone. Did you get a rude message? Try adding them to your ignore list instead of asking for a game-wide iron curtain.

I've met a lot of jerks that cry about getting killed. I get a whisper and think, wth is this guy? Ah the guy I just killed who is upset. Think to myself, well that's not very world PvP mmo like, to be able to talk to the other faction like that. Then ignore them.

It's world PvP. Not a place to hang out and chill and talk with the other alliances. They should make a whole other place to do that in. Like a major city, where everyone can go and talk to each other from all alliances. Make it a PvE thing, not world PvP.

Are you not able to talk to your own alliance members? Being able to talk to added friends and guild members from other alliances is not a game-wide iron curtain. I am just saying to change the way it's gone about.

I don't get why this is even a problem? Who cares if you can cross faction talk, I think it adds diversity to the game.

It just hasn't been like that in other games I've played and seems odd to kill someone that is an enemy in world PvP, then have them whisper you. In other mmo's I've played the player would have to log onto a different character of the same alliance as yourself to whisper you. Or they would have to be account wide friends with you.

I've had more then one nasty whisper, which is why I don't want the system to go XD always find it funny how many people rage when you kill them.

I just assumed it would be like DAoC where you couldn't talk to your enemies - adding to the feeling of all out war against foreign powers etc. etc.

How many times I missed sending Kudos to the people who beat me fairly in 1v1 or who gave an awesome fight and got zerged down by my alliance-mates. Now that I know about it, I hope it stays!

mostly quoted because i wanna see how long this quote can go. also i love talking to other factions. ive never gotten a nasty message, never sent one. ive asked what gear their using, why they ganked me instead of the other 30 ppl, or why the hell are they attacking there. but thats about it, and none of them were meant in a bad way. Heck i even whispered the current emp of TB to tell him congrats and he is EP.

I find that people who get a lot of nasty tells from the opposite faction usually do some kind of insulting post death emote.

I have never received a hate tell, just one's complimenting or playful banter.

the PvP is almost unplayable as it is. The fact we can chill-lax with our mortal enemies is one of the things keeping people here.

if someone sends you a rude tell, put them on ignore.

Save for a few petty ragers most tells I get are "gf

", which is just awesome.

Some of these I meet over and over again, and if they're alone they sometimes do this block/jump thingie to signalize a duel. I've been given and gave others tips about duelling guilds this way. I've even had extensive build discussions with players of the same class. All these conspiracy theories about spies and whatnot - grossly overrated if you ask me. Could not disagree more with OP.

I thought about making a rage compilation video, but vids arent really my thing. I mostly record to see my own mistakes and have a laugh.

I did have this one vid though where this well known player in the game was like

Definitely keep it otherwise there'll be more hate and anger in the game.

EP is the chattiest, I've only heard from a few AD peeps, and when I was EP at launch I never once heard from a DC. I hadn't earned their attention I guess.

It is pretty weird to get aggro/antagonizing whispers from opposite faction while you are fighting them. There should at least be an option to "turn off whispers from active enemies in cyr" rather than accumulating a long ignore list (I might want to sell something to those guys one day, I just don't want their aggro crap to fill my chat log). Some people just don't want to ever see that crap, so I don't see the harm in giving them the option to not receive whispers from enemies in their campaign.

My gf is one such player that would probably opt out of reading angry whispers from people we killed. Sometimes she gets a laugh out of it and says "I should tell them they just got killed by a girl!", but mostly she thinks it is *** and detracts from the experience and says "I wish I could just block all the enemy whispers".
