Buff Servers

What do you guys think about this?

I'm really frustrated about where AvA is at this point. Are there any changes in the pipeline? I don't think the pvp buffs affecting pve players is having a good impact on ESO as a whole.

A lot of players in my guild were talking about this in chat before the server went down tonight and I haven't seen this level of discontent before (in my guild). Neither the pvp nor the pve-focused players were happy with the current buff server situation. (NA)

As the servers are going down EP totally painted TB (NA) red and have all the scrolls. They are already far ahead in first and after the downtime, they will be that much further ahead. I see fewer and fewer AD and DC on. I don't know where they are going, if they still pvp, or what. My motivation to go in there and get zerged down is quite low, personally.

Is this working as intended? Are you satisfied with the current set up for AvA? How could it be improved?

EDIT: I joined this game and have remained subbed mainly to pvp in Cyrodiil. But now, I'm on the verge of just finding the AD buff server, if there is one, and just giving up on pvp and trying to pve exclusively. I don't know how this will work out and how long it can be a viable solution for me.

My suggestion, originally posted in another thread:

What if Cyrodiil buffs only carried into PvE for players who reached reward tier 3 in thier home campaign? This would encourage (force?) the "mah buffs" crowd to participate in the war effort each cycle, and would reward those who live in Cyro when we venture out and forget that all impen counts for s**t in dungeons ;)

I'm sure though that there are drawbacks I've not considered.

It's a good idea, Reverb. Thanks for adding it. How do you think it would affect overall faction balance on the various campaigns?

This still doesn't address "buff" campaigns, those campaigns that each alliance owns because there is no competition. These that certain guilds are telling their members to set as home just for those added buffs.

    V13 - BRETON SORCERER - HEALS/DPS

to be continued... Nevermind, no longer "to be continued"

After the end of a campaign even the keeps should reset so that other alliances are encouraged to start a new game there. I also strongly agree with the reward-tier-thing, maybe increase the reward-tiers to 5.
In fact, i even wanted to write a thread about this myself :)

The AD buff server is Haderus, and not is not a bad time to join it. There's a pretty consistent force of EP there, though there numbers are low so you have to be a bit delicate with them or they'll get frustrated and leave. DC has been showing up more often, and they really encourage EP which creates some very fun, lightly lagged fights. I won't say it's completely lag free, but it's lag-lite.

There are a lot of AD there that want their buffs, and do not want PvP, and there's some AD that just want to kill anything they see regardless of strategy, so at times Haderus can be pretty dead. Around the point when AD starts camping gates, and answering a 6 man force taking a resource with 20 bloodthirsty natives, EP has a tendency to leave, which is understandable. We are getting closer to a real PvP server though.

This pretty much exactly what happened to us (7 AD from my guild) on TB last night. It was EP doing the bloodthirsty native part.

    It's just not right.

If we had all those AD from Haderus over on TB, we could have had some fun. Are they just people who hate pvp?

Buff servers are a bad idea, at least the way they are implemented now. Please fix, ZOS.

I think a better solution would be to have no campaign periods at all but rather determine leaderboards by AP (or any better skill rewarding system, I am open) earned during the last x days.

Make PvP buffs being active in PvP only, of course. I see no argument against that other than "immersion", though this obviously fails the current situation.
