Stuck in Explosive Charge Animation

I have no idea how it happened but it did, I was unable to do anything - all i could do was watch my character die... Has anyone else experienced this?

cyqa✭✭✭This happened to be with Piercing Javelin. It happened pretty frequently for about 24 hours then it suddendly stopped. I didn't really investigate too much; I'd be interested to know if it was something on my end or not.0 -
Pseudonym✭✭✭I've experienced something similar quite a few times. I've stopped still on the spot, unable to attack, move, jump, mount or even /stuck
It happens at random times. I've submitted a ticket each time it's happened. It happened to my friend the other day and he mentioned that casting Fire Rune (as random as that sounds) frees you.
I tried it, and it worked. Completely random, but if your problem is the same one we were having, Fire Rune breaks you free.Edited by Pseudonym on September 8, 2014 8:15PM0 -

GnatB✭✭✭✭I've had it happen to me with the 2h charge attack (the only charge attack I've used).
My guess is it either happens when the client thinks the target is in range but the server disagrees, or if there is some obstruction between the two. (or possibly both) I've only seen it occur when trying to use it at extreme range though, and IIRC it usually clears up eventually. I've only ever attempted to use it as an opener though, so since it didn't really fire, I had plenty of time to wait it out as I wasn't being attacked.Achievements Suck0 -

✭✭✭✭✭I've had this happen to me on occasion (but fairly rarely) with both the 2h charge attack, and the dragon leap ultimate. When I went on vacation and had a fairly bad internet connection, this happened a lot. I've only had it happen maybe 2 times on my home internet, though, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's got a lot to do with latency.

No but that is why I'm posting this here, for the devs to know that there is still an issue with charge type abilities. Hopefully, @ZOS_JessicaFolsom will take notice as she has done before!

✭Has happened to me as well using a gap closer shielded assault (sword & board skill). Got stuck in the animation but was lucky there were others around to keep going with the fight.
I tried doing a few light attacks (thought it might be similar to the animation getting stuck with light attacks which happens every now and then) then tried a few of the skills on my bar and one of the skills broke the animation, I can't remember which one but I don't have volcanic runes so it wasn't that one for me.PUG Life - the true test of your skill

Tamanous✭✭✭✭✭Old bug. Been around for a few patches now. I have sent repeated bug reports on this along with several posts on these forums and never as much heard an official response or if I missed that, have yet to hear confirmation a fix is in the works.
Likely one the MANY class skill/passive bugs that will plague this game and annoy players for many months as ZoS continues to not find solutions. Perhaps a year after launch they will get around to finding fixes for things even sighted in beta.
The very fact that this bug kills you nearly every time in happens in serious combat doesn't seem to make ZoS think it is a priority to fix.Edited by Tamanous on September 8, 2014 11:58PM1 -

✭Is this ever going to be fixed? This happens to me constantly with the Templar skill "Explosive Charge" and it used to happen all the time with the 2h skill "Critical Rush". It's quite annoying to jump into a huge crowd of mobs and then get locked out of all your abilities including dodge roll until you die. I thought I read in some recent patch notes that this was being addressed but it's obviously not fixed.0 -
Fafnisbane✭✭This is a not uncommon bug when you use gap-closers and the servers are lagging. Sometimes the lag isn't obvious until you get stuck in the animation, but it's almost always the result of server lag.0
