The Ashen Hand, like any guild is an organized consolidation of professionals. In this case, most of the professionals are thieves, burglars, pirates, pickpockets, smugglers, and other entrepreneurs.

The focus of the Right Hand of the guild is organized criminal activity; utilizing the skills of the various professionals within the institute to acquire currency, information and supplies.

The focus of the Left Hand of the guild is to utilize the gains facilitated by the Right Hand in order to better serve society. Much of the gains acquired go to supporting various orphanages, veterans and other downtrodden of the Daggerfall Covenant.

We are a medium-core Roleplay guild on the NA Megaserver. We are Daggerfall only.

The guild concept is Robin Hood meets the Mafia

In 2E. 534 Tornash Ashen Hand founded a guild of like-minded men and women. Unlike many of his kin and contemporaries, Tornash cared little for racial or religious differences between people of Nirn. Tornash had a sense of honor, but it was one he had developed himself as an orphan of the Orcish Strongholds left to fend for himself in the faraway cities. He noticed early on in life that there was one singular unifying motivational factor between peoples; money. Everyone desired money to fuel their habits and lifestyles.

It didn't take long for the young Orsimer to figure out that the most lucrative forms of gaining money were the most hazardous ones. He quickly moved from petty theft of bread for survival to building a network of experienced criminals and merchants with honest faces and less than honest principals to quickly move the goods that the gang had obtained. He rented quiet houses and turned them into small pleasure palaces and invested his gains into their first ship.

To keep his crew and employees honorable and faithful to the guild he worked to create an in-depth insurance policy and benefits for those who shared in the work effort. Tornash always believed in keeping up appearances as well. He donated money and supplies regularly to orphanages, churches and even the guards, but never in the light of a bribe, just as a well off entrepreneur who adamantly cared for his community. Each contract and document was marked with the hand print of the illiterate orphan who had grown into a well-respected businessman who took and gave with calculated grace.

Whether rumors of his return are true or not, we strive to continue his legacy.

Hand of Tornash

The Hand of Tornash is the leader of The Ashen Hand who carries out his will. The Hand of Tornash oversees all business operations.

The Hands

The Right Hand. The functionality of the Right Hand leader is to assist the guild leader in all of her functions. They oversee the Right Hand of business, which is most often associated with the bloodier and more violent components of guild activity.

The Left Hand. The functionality of the Left Hand leader is to oversee business of a clean and substantial nature. The Left Hand is responsible for maintaining a clean image for The Ashen Hand where a need for such an image exists.

The Officers

The Officers oversee day-to-day business operations, plan heists, oversee deliveries and, along with The Hands, dispatch missions to members.
Areas of Operations

Each area of operations is represented by a ring. Members wear the rings of whatever areas they operate within. Rings are assigned by officers and up, based on mission performance.

The Prowlers - Worn on the pinkie. The prowlers come cloaked in darkness with light fingers and footsteps to relieve the more fortunate of their valuables...among other things.

The Runners - Worn on the ring ringer. The runners are the eyes, ears and legs of The Hands, delivering both information and objects less easily acquired to the appropriate divisions of The Hand.

The Entertainers - Worn on the middle finger. The entertainers are a committee of bards, musicians, story tellers, bartenders, cooks and courtesans who will keep you entertained, for a price.

The Merchants - Worn on the index finger. The Merchants are the most legitimate operations in The Hand, comprising of craftsfolk, merchandisers, guards, and other hard working peoples.

The Collectors - Worn on the thumb. The collectors make sure that debts are paid, traitors are dealt with, and the good name of The Hand prevails.

All members, regardless of rank, agree to the following decrees.

I. MONIES GARNERED FROM EXPLOITS

All monies are to be collected by the Hand of Tornash, or appointed treasurer after a heist. If it is not specifically mentioned otherwise the payoff is as follows: 5% to a charity to be named by the Hand of Tornash. 5% survivor benefits paid to elders and/or family members of fallen comrades. The remaining bulk is then divided in equal amounts among those who were present and in action on the heist.

II. THIEVERY

Anyone caught embezzling or stealing from any member of The Ashen Hand will be captured and face the forced removal of their right hand to serve as a reminder against betrayal.

III. SEDITION

Anyone found guilty of sedition or other mutinous actions committed against the Hand of Tornash will, at a minimum, be cast out from The Hand. Greater displays of treason will be dealt with more harshly. The Ashen Hand does not employ those who merely seek a payday or act out of bounds of the mission guidelines they are given. Anyone committing an assassination without clearance or without the intent of self-defense will be considered guilty of sedition.

IV. CUSTODY

If at any time a member of The Hand is taken into custody by the authorities, they are expected to serve their time in silence. All efforts will be made to post bond or facilitate your escape, but anyone who speaks on The Hand to lessen their sentence will be found guilty of sedition. See article III.

V. INFIGHTING

If any member has an issue with another member, they are expected to bring it to the attention up the chain of command, who will in turn escalate the matter to the Hand of Tornash if they see the need to.

OUT OF CHARACTER

I. All members, regardless of rank will remember to keep OOC and IC separate.

OOC guild discussions regarding politics and religion are strongly frowned upon, because there will always be conflicting opinions on these things. If members want to discuss these things, it should be in a private discussion.

OOC racism, sexism or any other forms of bigotry will absolutely not be tolerated.

As a side note - conversations can tend to be colorful! Foul language and expletives abound as well as good natured humor. If you ever feel offended by anything said in guild chat or voice communications, please contact @civilizedsavage or another officer. Your discomfort is NOT our intent.

II. You are not expected to participate in any events or activities that you are not interested in, however, constant self-exclusion may have an impact on your role in the guild hierarchy, raid positions, etc.

III. This is not a democracy.

IV. Adhere to the ESO ToS and EULA.

V. 18 +, please. While we are mature individuals, collectively dialogue can tend to get somewhat immature, colorful and even racy. You have been warned. If you are offended by something that is said, please speak with the appropriate person rather than saying nothing or letting the situation escalate. More often than not, it was a misunderstanding and no offense was intended.

VI. God-Modding and Meta-Gaming are generally a no-go. Using ooc knowledge against a person is harmful to RP. Taking action against someone without giving them an opportunity to react is strongly frowned upon.

VII. Guild Chat is OOC to better facilitate Q&A or general antics between members.

Upon review, an officer of The Hand will contact you in a timely manner to conduct a meeting. A task will be given which will need to be completed within two week's time. If the outcome of your mission is favorable, you will be granted access into The Hand and your induction ceremony will be scheduled.

The mission will be a fun, open ended, RP-centric one tailored to the areas of expertise your character possesses.
