Breton style here, Breton style there, Breton style everywhere

Greetings,

this is a thing, that annoys me since ages.
All the important mage sets like Warlock, Archmage and some other are always Breton style and Breton style is so ugly (no offense to the designer)
I'm a highborn Altmer and I alway try to keep me clean, with wearing Altmer clothes.

But choosing sets like Warlock and Archmage is like an annoying deal for me. Warlock was okay, since there are 2 rings available and could hide the shame under my robe. But the vr12 rings are impossible to get, so I wanted to switch over to archmage, because vr 1 enchants don't satisfy me. But.... the archmage clothes are almost impossible to get. So I was forced to get the archmage head and robe (at least for now)

I know, Bretons are a sign for low magic cost and such things. But seriously, why must EVERY important set be Breton ? It's undeniable, that Altmer are the more gifted mages. My Altmer friends look at me like a barbaric outlaw for wearing that nasty Breton style. My opinion is, that the important sets are meant to be ugly, so that people think twice, before putting them on.

So let's take a look (only 18+ , unpredictable reactions are possible)

What my friends say: " ohhh she is sooooo fab. Check out: she's blonde, she's skinny, she's rich and much more"

Okay, I still had the Altmer robe on, but still.
Honestly, this topic is probably unnecessary and smells a bit like troll. But I know, some people feel the same way and I just wanted to know your opinions.

I like it. I am a Breton myself and Elvenclothing would burn my skin anyway.

"I am a nightblade. Blending the disciplines of the stealthy agent and subtle wizard, I move unseen and undetected, foil locks and traps, and teleport to safety when threatened, or strike like a viper from ambush. The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

Yes, I feel like Bretons have a big advantage in this game. Lucky you.

Yeah right!!! I love my breton armor. My warlock hood and belt go great with my breton medium armor and breton face lol. It's awesome. My hybrid NB looks like a straight ninja. Check him out sporting that classy breton style all around Cyrodiil. http://youtu.be/6j32My3rLF0

Breton are pretty much elves.. They are descendant of the Aldmer and possibly Altmer. Thus it is doubtful that elven clothing would burn their skin away.

They're half elves at best. They're the byproduct of nords who where captured and enslaved by high elves. Check the lore.

Hahaha laughable... The high elves didn't take anything other than the imperial city, which was substantially weakend by the oblivion crisis. There is no military occupation of Skyrim or high rock and only had a limited presence in hammerfell. That's why Skyrim said F the empire. The elves would be crushed by the total force of the humans.

I'm sorry but I don't get the complaint, breton and Altmer styles are so similar that the Light armour is identical, apart from the colouring (which I dye anyway).

Literally that Breton robe is identical to an Altmer robe, I just don't get it.

They are exactly half elves, no at best about it.

They are the only half elves in the Elder Scrolls universe, because usually interbreeding between humans and elves just produces humans with elf blood (but still human) or elves with human blood (but still elves).

Admittedly this does mean they have no qualms about elven clothing and styles, and equally no qualms about human clothing and styles.

Well, even though I personally like the breton style for most equipment, I do see issues with the customization system in the game. It's nice that you can craft items with any style you want, but at the same time it's somewhat ridiculous that there practically isn't any customization anymore for endgame stuff.

Since endgame armors are the only ones you really want to plan out and keep around for a time, those are the ones I'd want customization for, but they, of all things, don't have any customization options. IMO, a "recraft" system where you can change the style of dropped items would be a good solution, preferrably with the option to change traits as well, because let's face it, most traits are garbage and everyone knows.

Halves would constitute 2 equal parts. I would argue that the Bretons are far more akin to the nords or Colovians than they are to the high elves. 10 drops of orange juice into a jug of apples juice does not make it half orange and half apple but more like juice with a hint of Orange. Bretons exactly that, man with a bit of elf.

Or we should get a double set of armor slots, one like today with the stats etc. and one, which show another armor look. So it is in the players opinion how to look like. I remember, that AoConan has such a feature. I liked that very much.

Yep, that's what everyone says. A 10th of the normal size. Poor chaps. I suppose the ability to cross-dress and lengthier life-spans compensate.
