This is why we need people in the PTS! ZoS tests stuff but they can't really put it to the test like us! Granted we shouldn't have to do it, players should try everything out in the PTS and if they see any problems at all they need to be very descriptive with reporting feedback. I usually try to do it as much as possible but its hard when I'm alone.
I'd also like to add that I do pay attention the the flair of weapon attacks, I honestly didn't see anything wrong with most melee weapons. Sometimes I like to hold a heavy attack, have my character swing and then let go. My character holds the 2h in a position like he's ready to make another attack. Which is really cool.

Zos linked that article to both their Facebook and twitter. Any other click bait site has gone un mentioned by them. So the animation thing is confirmed. The provisioning, and new bag space thingy where confirmed in ESO live. And champion was hinted at so that's the only one we don't know enough about.
Edit: Typing on an IPod screws things up.
So the big things about update 6, according to this article, are:
- Provisioning Revamp
- Collector System
- Champion System
- Combat Animation Enhancement
So out of the four main aspects of the update, all four are actually "fixes" of existing systems in ESO? There's no NEW content here... or am I missing something?
I’ve said it before, and I’ll said it again, Zenimax has to be one of the best companies for listening to the community. Time and time again the community has voiced their concerns about different aspects about the game and Zenimax takes that feedback and does what they can to improve it. Most notably is the complete overhaul of the “end game” content, replacing it with the champion system.
Ever since the launch of ESO, the community has been very opinionated about the look and feel of the combat in ESO, calling it, “Floatly”, “sub-standard”, even being so bold and calling it the worst combat system created.
Sucky communication, patch notes where half the stuff is missing and half the stuff isn't working, major lag issues since launch still not being addressed in Cyrodill, major lag spikes in EU server ever since it moved to Frakfurth, bugs, bugs, bugs, exploit, bugs, bugs, Emperor but no PVP buffs, bugs bugs bugs, weekly fracked up, bugs bugs bugs, worst UI of 2014 award, bugs bugs bugs..."Personally I think ESO has been doing a fantastic job, and has delivered a premium service."
"This is something we discussed at the Guild Summit. I have a future article about this very topic and what they are doing about it." (regarding combat system)
looks like someone paid by Zos to improve the image of the game online.
Well played ZOS.

Sure they could add another zone instead of it, you'd burn through it in a day and then cry how there is no content anymore. Champion System will last casual gamers for years.
@Sublime@magnusnet just mention one company that invites players to the HQ, in order to get their feedback and discuss the future of the game.

ZOS hears the Feedback: Just LOL they hear the feedback they want to hear and dismiss 90% of it most of the time. Communication, even though it's better than in other games, still sucks big time compared to some competitors like SWTOR. Moreover the champion system, by ZOS's own admittance, has been on the works pretty much since game launch because they where unhappy with the VR system which wasn't what they had in mind when they where making the game. First proof of major BS.Ever since the launch of ESO, the community has been very opinionated about the look and feel of the combat in ESO, calling it, “Floatly”, “sub-standard”, even being so bold and calling it the worst combat system created.
Maybe the guy has been looking at reddit forums and there's been many complains there about this, but I don't think I've seen this posted in this forum, at least not during the last 6 months. Def not the main concern of players to "feel like hits are landing".
Just some random quotes from this guy who mainly posts about ZOS and ESO:Sucky communication, patch notes where half the stuff is missing and half the stuff isn't working, major lag issues since launch still not being addressed in Cyrodill, major lag spikes in EU server ever since it moved to Frakfurth, bugs, bugs, bugs, exploit, bugs, bugs, Emperor but no PVP buffs, bugs bugs bugs, weekly fracked up, bugs bugs bugs, worst UI of 2014 award, bugs bugs bugs..."Personally I think ESO has been doing a fantastic job, and has delivered a premium service."
This guys's "premium service" standards must be extremely low."This is something we discussed at the Guild Summit. I have a future article about this very topic and what they are doing about it." (regarding combat system)
Clearly just a fanboy to whom ZOS gave insight on their future releases in order to get some publicity done for them in MMO community where the game has been bashed over and over again since it's launch.
Don't trust this a bit.
*gives cooke to @magnusnet* thanks, didn't know that.
I however think it's a bit too early to judge their reaction on the guild summit since 1.5 is the only major since the meeting and the big part of the discussion was on other topics. I think we will get to know a bit more once we see 1.6.
But please expand, how is it the "best in this genre"?
@magnusnet if I remember correctly, they fixed the sharpened trait in the last patch, so stuff gets done eventually (which is the most important thing for me, I don't really mind when they do it as long as they do it).
For the gear revamp I'd wait for 1.7/1.8 which will include seasoned gear, maybe they'll adress Master Weapons as well. I know they want to implement ability altering weapons for all weapon skills, so we might get better weapons just for other skills.
All in all the main problem, probably is the age of the game, there are a lot of things that need a revamp and it's impossible to do it all at once (They are revamping the past 50 experience, which should theoretically have been in place at launch, so problems that arise now will be delayed accordingly). They are however trying to improve communication, as you can see from the new version of the AUA.
There are also not as many testers as many assume, for the DSA update they only had feedback on the DSA itself. I think a bit more active known issues and more activity from the devs themselves on the forums would be appreciated by mand users. It would cost them some workforce, but I think most players would prefer the communication version.
It doesn't hurt to /ignore magnusnet
CCP, the company of EvE Online did this more than once@magnusnet just mention one company that invites players to the HQ, in order to get their feedback and discuss the future of the game.

Complaints about the writing style aside...combat animations? Seriously? Who cares?

@Sublime
COokieeee!! *Nom nom nom nom nom nom nom* (I actually didn't know either, thanks Google).
I agree it is early and the next 2 or 3 updates where prolly planed a long time before the summit. That being said, when Arena was being tested on PTS ZOS asked for feedback from the Hardcore guilds that finished it. The main concern was: the loot (Master Weapons) sucks, we won't include it in our builds, this makes the whole content useless and most people will likely not do multiple runs (it happens to be actually worth doing runs just to get the Healer's rings & sell them for 90k+ but the loot keeps sucking) ZOS said: "ah ok ok" and the only thing they changed to the loot was +x magicka which still makes it u s e l e s s. The concerns about the UI have been going on since Beta by people like @Attorneyatlawl (who did the testing to prove Sharpened trait was broken proving the incompetence of ZOS's QA team) and ZOS has never replied to them (now that I think of it it's soon time for my monthly "Fix your UI ZOS" post. There are also complains from solo players craving for more content, especially end game solo content, and even though I may not agree with them they also deserve a clear answer from Zenimax which hasn't happened.
