PRAISE A DEV' (forum game - only positive post)

Hello everyone,

I wanted to propose a little forum game! The goal is to share with others something we particulary like in the game, and congratulate/thanks the developer responsible of it. This simply to let know to the developers what we like in the game, and to give them our gratitude. I believe this will serve developers to also know what we enjoy, spread positives vibes on this forums, show to new players/potential players that ESO is not only about Lag, bug and class imbalance and a whinny, boring community.

The rules are very simple:

- Praise a developer for one thing you really do like in the game (for example you love crafting)
- Explains and illustrate if you can your reasons
- Only share positive feedback
- Do not start arguments or discussions, its not the thread for it. Open a new thread if you want discuss
- I'll report Troll and Negative comment as out of subject.

    I'm starting the game!

I want to thank the Dev's team responsible of the design of the zone Khenarti Roost.
I'm amazed by the atmosphere! It feel so warm, and humid, so hot! It feel so exotic! The sounds, the weather, the light and the vegetation, the organization of the landscape, how the Temples mixes with the plantations and the wreckages on the beach. I love the Khajiit architecture and all small details all arround. This zone feel more alive , more full than any other zone. Its my favourite zone so far and I really really wanted to congratulate everyone that worked on it! Khenarti Roost is a master piece!

    A plantation...its so warm!

    547c4ae2b44c4.png
A relaxing morning, with Khajiit gathering arround a bard. This feel a bit hippie, doesn't it?

Ships, wreckage, shores, palm trees... A proper pirate landscape!

EDIT my spellings errors. Thanks @Gyudan :P

    It's Khenarthi's Roost! :#

    - Khenarthi is the khajiiti goddess of the winds and sky
    - A roost is "a place where birds regularly settle or congregate to rest at night, or where bats congregate to rest in the day." (aka "perchoir")

I love bolt escape / streak / bolt of lightning.
    9fO1jxo.png
For me it's what makes sorcerers feel "special". It's also the thing I miss the most when switching to other classes, I always end up hitting the "bolt escape" key until I realise it's not working.

Jump from a cliff with style? Bolt escape.
Catch up with your group? Bolt escape.
Enter combat by accident and don't want to fight? Bolt escape.
Escape from a PVP gank group? Bolt escape.
Jump from one harvesting node to the next? Bolt escape.
Using a slow donkey (maxed inventory horse) and need a boost? Bolt escape.

I really hope it will be compatible with walking on water (if that's possible) when spellcrafting is released.

    Whoever designed it, thank you!

Whoever got rid of those botters and gold sellers, your awesome! I remember in April watching this botter teleporting from node to node for about 2-3 minutes then all of a sudden just dieing right in front of me. By the end of the month the time they where teleporting before just keeling over lowered then there where none.

    Also Jason Leaveys hair!

Even though I have my issues with the game I still think there are lots of good stuff..I like the quests...but if I should chose one thing it would be the graphics and world building. (Well I guess that's 2 things).

Praise to the team that's been updating the delves in each zone, a memorable one was the Dwemer delve Yldzuun in Alik'r where you find groups of Imperials fighting with the constructs just after you enter.
The delves now feel like mini dungeons each with a unique 'personality'.

I am not sure who is responsible but I want to praise the world designers and the game play mechanics for the thrilling sense of doom I experience whenever I foolishly leap off a hill or cliff. Many times I will survive after one of my time-saving jumps; but there are other times when I receive a single entry of Fall Damage in a death recap. Those fleeting final moments before I hit the ground are amazingly fun when I have no idea if I will live or die upon impact. My poor horse probably hates me but I love this aspect of the game.

I would like to extend my thanks to the whole team working on the quests throughout the 3 factions - I have just begun my third faction (EP), and the quests are still cool, well done, written and acted, and they really tie in well together.
An example of this would be Glenumbra where the whole zone leads up to the last battle against Angoff. The fact that you liberate a zone from some sort of evil tyranny makes questing make so much more sense, and it's a continuous joy to level through the zones.

On the same note I would like to thank the guys who decided to implement the skill system where we get to play around with various builds, and new ones are still popping up even though we haven't had new skill lines for a long time.
    Very cool.

Nothing in particular sticks out for me, but all the whole game: it's a product of love and it shows everywhere you go.

If I had to name a single thing that wondered me: the amazing, incredible, enormous amount of dialog this game has!
You can talk to any NPC and if they are interactable, they would probably have something to say related to what you just did before.

((Bugs, problems and flaws aside that, I'm sure, will be fixed in time.))

Ehm, sorry, I got a bit carried away there.. Anyway, let's continue.

The combat system. It's way better than in many other MMO's and killing mobs doesn't feel like a chore.

The freedom of choice when it comes to weapons and armor. I find myself mixing medium and heavy armor, while using dual wield swords and a bow. Suits me just fine!

Of course there's always room for improvements, but I'm enjoying the game a lot!

    Dumb.

    *edit*

Thank you for bringing out update 5 and punishing people who played the game content prior to its release. Thanks for then ignoring all those people. Thank you for putting your head in the sand after making a bad dev choice and last of all thanks for rewarding those with easier and faster levels when they DIDNT do game content prior to the update.

Because we all know those who do less should be rewarded more.

Thanks you guys are the best.

The one thing I like is how Lyranth remembered me in Coldharbour after finally bringing my main to the 'right' faction.

The atmosphere would be the main thing I guess, makes it easier to remember stuff that happens as opposed to games I've played in the past over years where I can barely recall any memories regarding them at all.

I love the idea of disguises - how you dont have to kill the whole camp to finish your task, but still it is a challenge because all the torch bearers that can recognise you. And if you get attacked you loose your disguise, so it is quite a challenge to sneak around and find another disquise before the whole camp is alarmed of your presence. It is way more fun for me then a quest from other MMO - go and kill 20 enemies with no way to sneak pass them and no way to continue if you dont finish this - I feel like vomit and Im allergic to killing task since then :) It was so big relief it is not here in ESO. And I love this game for it.

Tamriel - the world is one of, if not the best, of any game I have ever played. I can almost feel the climate. The deserts are hot and dry and the grit of sand is in everything. The snowscapes, whether it is sunlight or moonlight, always feel crisp and cold. The jungles feel hot and muggy with the crocodiles lying along the river banks waiting for their next meal to wander by (aka me). I can tell the time of day from the angle of the sunlight streaming in through the windows or across the landscape. My favourite is how early morning feels dewy and fresh. I love walking along a road enjoying the scenery and then remember - Oh, yea, I have a horse - only to ride twenty feet and get off again because something caught my attention.

I want to praise the Devs for all the nuances that add realism to the world.
