Veteran Rank levelling - isn't it supposed to be less of a grind now?

Just going through the veteran ranks with my second character, shouldn't the recent changes have reduced the grind somewhat?
I levelled my first character doing the other factions zones. I'm repeating the same on my second character and at the moment I'm still levelling at exactly the same speed - approximately 1 VR per zone cleared.
Am I missing something or was the recent change simply cosmetic in renaming VPs to XP?

However veteran zones never felt like a grind to me, but a chance to explore another 2 unique stories. Seems like I'm one of the few that actually appreciates all the work that went into it.
Besides I lvled to VR12 just by completing every faction, without even touching PvP or going to Craglorn to grind.Edited by Bloodfang on November 28, 2014 9:35AM1 -

Yeah I am one of those that likes questing in the various EP/AD/DC storylines, and I level that way. I have also done all of Craglorn and all of the Cyrodil city quests on my main though, thanks to being in a good guild - not a hardcore guild, just a guild of ordinary folks that help their members and have fun, we do pledges too, we're not likely to go for a speedrun on anything anytime soon, but we like to get completion and a gold key for our groups even if it takes a while.GM - Ghost Sea Trading Co - NA PC

I'm pretty sure that should cut the time by at least 10x
I understand your struggle though, I'd also prefer my alts to level faster. However I don't want ESO to become like nearly every MMO out there, where you can reach max level in 1 day.

DezIsDead✭✭✭✭I agree I don't wasn't eso to become a vr14 in a day game, however as others have stated I really have zero interest in playing through caldwells silver and gold a second time. No offense to EP and DC but ya know were kinda at war, I hate you guys(in game only of course). With my second VR I had the crag grinds to alleviate that issue, not so much anymore.
