Champion system - Would you like to see a level 64 cap?

We just don't know yet. I'm curious what the general consensus is on a favored cap. Level 64 makes the most sense to me because the gear conversion would be easy. Level 50 cap would be OK, but it seems to me that it may remove the significance of time and effort already spent acquiring V14 gear. Seasonal gear will perhaps negate that concern? Dunno, it all seems rather confusing. The most important thing in my opinion is that we remove the false sense of accomplishment you get right now at level 50. If it stays at 50, we may need to just accept that our gear is trivial and embrace the fact that characters with V14 gear will likely have a ton of Champion points to spend as compensation.

    Level 50 means nothing right now. That is the biggest problem in my opinion because there is a sense that you beat the game, vanquished the evil foe, then you still have a monumental mountain to climb before you can partake in any sort of competitive end game. Hense the conversion to the champion system. A level 64 cap makes the most sense if they intend to leave in place the required progression to end game.

    However if they intend to remove the mandatory silver/gold achievements in order to compete at end game, then I am ok with a lvl 50 cap. Even if it means all of my V14 gear would be useless.

    I don't think that ZOS will make level cap at 64. They already said that the max level will be 50. And IMO it's fine.

    64 cap wouln't make sense, as there is actually 150 levels in the game (VR10, and probably 190 till VR 14). I for sure don't wanna see lvl 150-190 cap :D

    Though it makes me wonder are Veteran Ranks gonna get "renamed" to Champion Ranks. Gear has to be gated behind some number in an MMO.

    There are only 2 options for them really:

    - "Rename" Veteran Ranks to Champion Ranks or
    - Greatly increase the experience needed to gain a level past lvl 50 (I'm sure they wouldn't make a level cap something crazy, probably would be a round lvl 60)

    From what I understood the first option is how they are going to handle it. If I recall correctly they said something about "Champion Ranks". So my guess is there will be 9 Champion Ranks (maybe 10 if lvl 50 counts as one):

    -> 1 - 300 passive points = Champion Rank 1
    -> 301 - 600 passive points = Champion Rank 2
    -> 601 - 900 passive points = Champion Rank 3
    -> 901 - 1200 passive points = Champion Rank 4
    -> 1201 - 1500 passive points = Champion Rank 5
    -> 1501 - 1800 passive points = Champion Rank 6
    -> 1801 - 2100 passive points = Champion Rank 7
    -> 2101 - 2400 passive points = Champion Rank 8
    -> 2401 - 2700 passive points = Champion Rank 9

    I don't believe anything has been set in stone yet. If you have proof that the cap will be set to 50, then please link it. I would be ok with a level 50 cap as long as they remove the mandatory silver/gold completion and make lvl 50 actually feel like a level cap instead of it only being 1/3 of progression towards end game.

    A level 64 cap would just make it the same as now, the other areas would be just a grind to level cap rather than part of endgame. With the cap at 50 at least they have the option to expand on the almanac areas with things like dailies, events ect to make them more a repeatable experience rather than just another two factions to grind.

    I would love to see that. However I don't know if they are going to abandon the relevance of the silver/gold. I hope they do though. In that case, lvl 50 cap would be great. However if they retain silver/gold as mandatory progression, then lvl 64 would make sense for gear conversion. Or better yet, if they insist on retaining silver/gold, they should make the cap 60 and remove mandatory group questing in Craglorn as forced progression to level cap.

    Proof like concept of champion system? You get points after reaching level 50.
    Once you obtain level 50 you’ll be granted access to the Champion System where you’ll be able to obtain Champion Points (1200 total) which you can place into the constellations of your choice.

    Aye, that is all well known info. However we do not know what the level cap will be. Just because we will begin to acquire champion points at lvl 50 doesn't mean it will be the level cap. But that is a wonderful article. It certainly implies that the cap will be lvl 50. Thank you for the link.

    i prefer elder scrolls online developers allow us to never see or have a cap on levels, allowing us essentially to be able to reach levels of 100 and even higher.
    (possibly even as high as in the thousands as long as eso is playable exactly like it was in Asheron's call mmo)
    My choice however, is not in the voting options. Therefore i did not vote.

    Or maybe they should ditch the whole chump system and let the current system continue. It was never broken and It shouldn't have been fixed.

    Think about this even if they only just dropped the cap down to 50, it would make all those public dungeons and delves throughout the 2 vet areas more relevant than they are now. Having levels/vet ranks beyond 50 for something that should of been part of endgame was one of the dumbest things they did with the game, they literally made every zone obsolete through a first play through.
