Cyrodiil Soul Gem Changes

Yes, I realize this is a dead horse and probably a duplicate post of a duplicated post that was duplicated prior to that.

But I don't really care... it's the first time I've said it. I was about to post this in another thread, but I don't want it hidden 11 pages deep. Similarly, I think it's rude to @ the ZOS teams for every personal opinion we have.

That said:

I believe a couple of quick and easy changes to soul gems for PvP would help relieve a LOT of players' current frustrations:
  • Their cost in gold needs to be reduced or they need to be EXTREMELY more common in the PvP reward mails.
    • No need for them to be 160-ish g per gem now. Either up the $$ reward in the PvP mail rewards so that a player can purchase 2-4 gems per mail or lower the cost so that you can get AT LEAST ONE gem for that mail.
  • Cyrodiil vendors need to offer unfilled gems for 720 AP.
    • This would allow a player to resurrect up to ten people for what used to be the cost of a Forward Camp.
    • This will cause some players to encounter the soul gem filler DoT (from the World skill line) from time to time in PvP.

A lot of people are so up-in-arms about FCs and I STILL see zerglings running clean over friendly corpses. Perhaps making soul gems easier to come by will loosen up this greed.

I suppose it's a bit pricey for non vet levels but for vets grand soul gems are very common. I think they should just up the overall AP but I have no problem with them lowering the cost of soul gems either.

I carry oblivions foe set with me in PvP and play medic sometimes. You can make quite a lot of soul gems that way.

Um... I've got two VR14 NBs and one's a Major.

They're still too pricey for players who PvP constantly because there's no income from it. (edit: "it" being PvP)

I'm betting you PvE a bit more and either sell drops or spend time crafting & sell consumables?

Imagine a PvP player who spends his/her life in Cyrodiil... only in Cyrodiil. Let's assume that player farms their own materials and crafts their own consumables (potions, foods, etc.). (edit: no, I don't know how anyone can do both but I'm not suggesting any changes to crafting or the market for consumables... let the player figure that part out on their own - the current system is fine. However, the FC system has recently changed and it does need some form of a stipend or underpinning / buttress to help players change their current culture of "screw that dead guy, let him rez at the keep")

The only thing that player has to purchase are soul gems. And they ARE prevalent for any player who stomps on the bodies of their friendlies and leaves them for dead, a la the FC days.

However, if you begin resurrecting your fellow teammates on a regular basis and choose to not spend hours of your game time running PvE stuff, you too will find that these gems will keep you at, or close to zero gold.

You can currently spend 3600 AP on a single, FILLED gem. And I'm not proposing any changes to that. What I AM proposing is a cheaper, UNFILLED version that would effectively replace the cost FCs used to represent.

I'm suggesting the above because the penalty in Cyrodiil need not be monetary when attempting to rez another player. It's dangerous enough now without FCs. Sticking your neck out to help someone should only be punishable by enemy players, not the economy on top of it.
