Goldsmithing?

Its obvious that they didnt finish this but wanted to add it. Anybody know when or even IF they are gunna add this? Think I remember them saying they might add it later. I feel we have come to a point and time of "later" but still no goldsmithing. We can make glyphs for jewelry but cant make the jewelry so basically the jewelry glyphs are worthless sept for deconstruction?

They stated a while back that jewelry crafting is a possibility in the future. As to exactly when, who knows.

Well, other then deconstruction yeah they are worthless. The jewelry that you get in drops is not worth using even if you add a glyph to it.

I heard they had jewelry crafting in Alpha but it never worked and they removed it. Would be nice to see it make a comeback.

Seriously, how difficult could it be to implement jewelry crafting? Make a copy of the Blacksmithing crafting code. Replace the armor and weapon type creation options with two options - one for necklaces and one for rings. Replace the options on the research screen to be Arcane, Healthy, Robust and maybe one for Ornate. Update the improvement screen with new tempers.

Add silver ore nodes to the non-vet zones and gold ore nodes to the vet zones. Allow users to create jewelry for every 5th non vet level (5, 10, 15, etc.) using silver ore. Allow gold jewelry to be created for every vet level. Add three Hireling perks for the delivery of trait stones, improvement tempers and ore. Add a jewelry crafting station to every location where a Blacksmithing forge exists. Update the item DB tables and art as needed.

Voila! Now you have a functional jewelry crafting system.

There's actually a bug right now (well, since 1.2) that allows for 13 contributing armor pieces for set bonus combinations. Basically gives you an extra slot.

I would love jewelry crafting for sure.

But in terms of jewelry glyphs -my VR9 DK Vampire has all home-made glyphs on dropped jewelry (purple drops and purple glyphs) - 2x fire resist enchants, and an armor enchant, mostly with health trait. It is very worthwhile for me - if I face you in battle I consider them worthwhile enough that I will not be stopping to take them off before we fight :D

You do know you can replace the enchant on most jewelry with your own glyph, right? And I've had plenty of ordinary purple jewelry drops that I can put my own enchants on.

Most dropped glyphs (weapon, armor, and jewelry glyphs) are useless after about lvl 30, it is better to make your own, but that goes for all glyphs. I enchant my jewelry myself (and every other piece I use) to suit my character.

I would like jewelry crafting though, very much.

Why don't we have this already @ZOS_GinaBruno ?
Rings and necklaces have no style-specific visual. All that's needed is basically a copy/paste of the existing crafting system in cloth/blacksmith/wood with the exact same skill lines and maybe a few new materials.

Or are you planning to do something different? It would be nice to have some info in the next ESO Live. Just a peak?

What are talking about dude? I have 3 different sets of soul shine jewelry. One set I made spell damage, one has magicka recovery, and one is weapon damage. Three sets for 3 builds. How in gods name are jewelry glyphs worthless? Is a player a vampire? Want fire resist? Make jewelry glyphs with fire resist. Want to be a tank but your jewelry set doesn't have more armor that you want or need? Make it.

I also have a set of soulshine, re-enchanted the way I want them, and with higher level enchantments than the originals.

The only problem is that jewelry seems to stop at VR10, which is why making your own (in sets) would be so good.

I had considered stuff like copper and platnium initially but they are not level gated. Thats why I went with the metals. I could have sworn I have played games with iron or steel rings. Anyone remember anything like that or is my memory way off? Maybe what it will take is a mixture from some metals like Iron and Obsidian to make "Pig Iron".

People have worn iron and steel rings before. In fact, some steel rings look quite cool!! If you look up Damascus steel rings, they look really really cool :)

Edit: Yes, I remember there are some games that have such ring types :)

There have been games with Iron and Steel Rings, but they still seemed wrong to me, maybe just my opinion.

As for the metals not being levelk gated, well when they introduce jewellery-crafting (or whatever they call it) they will have to introduce the crafting mechanics anyhow, so that's not really much of a concern. They might even do it by the gemstones in the rings and amulets.
