ZoS has said that they have plans to make weapon swapping work like block (cancel all animations and respond instantly). Whether or not that will happen before the apocalypse is open for debate.
80% of my deaths are due to lags related to weapon swapping. Reading your post was to me like someone telling me about how they saw snow for the first time. :-)Ad.Absurdum wrote: »i was doing a dolmen alone (sorcerer) and wanted to summon my tank-pet. for that i had to swap weapon. pressed the key to swap but due to bad game performance nothing happend. i did not see that and instead of summoning my pet, i activated streak, so i charged into the enemies... and died.
i am wondering if zos actually does not realize the real bad combination of forced weapon swap due to too few abilities on the action bar and the poor performance of the game. seriously, this is taking quite some fun from the game. the problem is even worse in pvp where lag is the normal condition during a larger battle.
since i assume that fixing the game performance is not as simple, they could just give more abilities in the action bar. i don't care about their design decisions if they are not able to deliver a proper performing game.
My game locks up on weapon swap..........never happeneded before 1.5.4 also @ZOS_JessicaFolsom please PLEASE fix the BROKE volatile familiar......he does ZERO damage......

I get this some times. It freezes for a split second the longer on the next swap and even longer for the swap after that. I can only fix it by logging out then back in. I did however notice that after I changed Combat Statistics to stop tracking info after 1 line it doesn't do it as often. Not sure if it was related.

Suggestion: set your middle-mouse button up as the control for weapon swap. Mouse processing appears to be handled at a higher priority than the keyboard. I get fairly reliable weapon swapping with the middle mouse button.

No, this shouldn't be the case as the lag only affects you. Granted, we know that's a big deal for you, but there shouldn't be a case where a group of people all weapon swap together to cause lag for someone else (as an example).Mountain_Dewed wrote: »ZOS_GinaBruno wrote: »There is an ongoing issue currently where weapon swapping will cause some lag. Can players use this for an advantage in PvP? I wouldn't normally ask this but I've learned first hand how many sorry players are out there that would do this if possible, it's a crying shame I tell ya...

If you know about it, then why isn't it on the known issues list?

Uh, realistically, if they listed everything they know is a shortcoming in the game, the known issues list would require its own website.
This would solve it, should also not be to hard to implement.ZoS has said that they have plans to make weapon swapping work like block (cancel all animations and respond instantly). Whether or not that will happen before the apocalypse is open for debate.
