Game Stability

Improving the poor performance of this game really needs to be a top priority, ZOS. I am mostly a PvPer, and I think we all know how badly PvP lags, and that it's quite often. However, I've been grinding out some of these daily undaunted quests, and lag and crashing have now snuck their way out of Cyrodiil and into dungeons. Or maybe it's always been this way and I just haven't heard about it or experienced much of it. Darkshade Caverns was the worst, the entire run I was at 25 fps tops, and crashed during a trash pull. ZOS, we know that this has to be at least "on your radar", as we have been complaining about PvP performance since you broke it with your "pretty new lighting" update. Now that it's getting worse in PvE too, will you finally pay more attention to the issue please?

I crash 2-3 times/night (3-4h play), ranging from browsing guildstore in bank to fighting.

PvP is a mess due to lag, I also crash more frequently when PvP than pve..

I am also now crashing more frequently when I'm out in the middle of a field in between objectives with only 7 people around than when I'm at a keep and there are three zergs all converging on it. Ridiculous.

I rarely if ever crash, but I am also bothered by some odd performance behaviors. In short, my system is about 2 years old, i5 3570k @ 4.2ghz, 16gig RAM, and a GTX 780(recent upgrade). Been a wonderful and stable system. I have the most current drivers and windows updates for my system.
However, in towns like Wayrest, If i look certain directions or run into certain areas, my FPS drops from a solid Vsynced 60 FPS, to between 45-60. Usually when looking towards/being in Merchant areas or Crafting areas.
At times in combat, even by myself in PVE zones, when i AoE a group of enemies, my FPS will dip as well, like the particles are causing FPS drops, even though nothing seems to be working that hard. it usually goes into the mid 40s and back again after the spells go away. The same happens in dungeons during combat. I have adjusted the Particle Systems toggle in options to the halfway from full left, but it made no difference. I did not have an issue with particles before
I highly doubt i should be seeing these issues with my current hardware. It was not always like this, and these problems i've noticed more since a litte before 1.5 dropped.
PVP is just terribad. about 10-25FPS in battles.

PVP is the absolute worst for this. FPS drops to 5-10 once there is a lot of stuff going on. I know for a fact its not my computer. FPS drops the same time the ping goes to 7k+ out of no where. Last night was aperfect example of this. Red comes in, everything lags, 5 minutes later our scroll is half way to their keep. Not saying they did it, I am just explaining the scenario in which it happened. Meaniwhile EVERYONE was complaining about the same issue. I am starting to think ZoS will NEVER fix this issue. Seems the logical thing to do would be to buy a server that is AT LEAST 3-4 times better than the current one.

It's not the user's system (not in the case of having sufficient parts), there's some kind of bottleneck on ZOS's end.

I hate when everything lags so badly that nothing registers for 10 minutes.

Well, there are a couple skills that always register, but still

I crash more and more as time goes on, now in PvE I crash a lot as well.

For the longest time I thought that the problem was my addons (I use several), so today I turned off all addons, turned the graphics down to "low" (the only thing lower is "minimal"), and zoned into Cyrodiil.

I crashed within an hour and a half or so. And not in a big battle.

I agree. Game stability since patch 1.5 has been horrible. I hope that ZOS really makes an effort to restore normal server operation soon ^_^

Since patch 1.5 i crash every single time i change chars. That makes checking the hireling emails a time consuming thing. (Probably intended)

I also crash every half an hour when using wayshrines to another zone and randomly when browsing shop or exiting banks, never used to happen in all those months i have been playing.
Maybe the game is taking more and more resources, causing the frequent crashes. I made at least 30 crash reports, but no response.
Beesting, Bosmer Magica DK, AD EU, crafter
Slager, Dunmer Magica DK, DC EU, pvp
Farmer, Dunmer Magica DK, AD EU, trials build

Every major patch looks like the end of the world but somehow i just cannot stop playing.

Crashing is one thing but a lot of the experienced lag is usually on the players side. I see many players complain about lag in certain zones, and several say "what lag are you talking about".

I'm surprised you even notice when it drops to 45FPS. That's where I'm at normally.

Can't really complain about random crashes until all Add-ons are turned off and the game is run for awhile. That's the first logical place to start trouble-shooting your game. Then incrementally update your addons and run them.

Personally the game has been running pretty stable for me. My system is about 2-3 years old, AMD Quad Core, 16Gbt of DDR3 Ram and a GTX670 GPU. lately I'm getting abut 40-60 FPS open world, 20-30 in Cities, 40ish is Skirmishes with multiple people and 10-15 near a major siege.

I found when my game was Effing up 80-90% of the time it was an Add-0n doing it. Could even be an updated one.
