no no no, EVERY DK will tell you that if it is being reflected it is because it is MEANT TO BE! I asked questions about crushing shock being reflected since it is a beam and not a projectile, and holy crap did I open up a can of "STOP CRYING FOR THEM TO NERF US" response lol all I wanted was for crushing shock and 3 other skills to stop being reflected since they are NOT projectiles lol good luck though! DK's have seen a few nerfs and are still the most OP class.

No, that's not what happened. What happened is you opened a thread and failed completely in comprehending the responses you got.

Crushing shock is a projectile. It doesn't get reflected just by Scales. It also gets reflected by Defensive Posture and Eclipse, as well as getting absorbed by Ball of Lightning. Because it's a projectile.

If you feel Crushing Shock should not be reflected/absorbed, that's a change required on the Crushing Sock skill, not Scales. Hence your thread titled "Fix Scales" was a major failure in logic.

Did they fix the caltrops from being reflected? I mean they do just sit on the ground unless they step on them like a rake and phwap! whacked in the nose, reflected back at me =P

The thing to remember is that for every one really good DK, there are 10 awful ones.
Try to find the awful ones, because the one really good one, you will need help unless your a really good NB.

Take roll off the double tap and assign it a button. You don't have to roll out of talons it doesn't do that much damage. Put fire resist on a ring, and use an armor skill. Flame whip is fire damage and physical damage so raise your mits if it's hitting hard. Or you can mist form and let him waste all his magicka. (you will still be rooted, but protected.)

Don't let anyone tell you shades OP. Only as complete newb or noob DK will be effected by shades, and they are completely useless in larger encounters.

As a stam NB you need some type of sustain, be that restro staff or what I like to use, 2h rally.

Next you have to bring down his block. I like to use calatrops and/arrow barrage. Both of these are better options than shades because they can be used in multiple scenarios and do more dmg.

Fear, then drop caltrops and/or arrow barrage. At this point they are stuck blocking on top of the calatrops. With your sustain you should be able to do this a couple times. This in conjunction with your attacks will deplete his stamina.

Note- you are still fighting an uphill battle, but you have a fighters chance.

Sorry, that IS a "learn to play" issue, as you didn't even know you have a heal on your bar, and said "i have no heals".

Also, upgrade Purge to Cleanse (hard to do with Stam build, since you are low on magicka), but Cleanse removes all the DoTs from the fire-wielding DK AND heals you. Even if you don't, Dark Cloak removes damaging DoTs.

My NB destroys DKs with just Caltrops, Rally, Cleanse and light attacks.

You should be able to win using this bar:

Caltrops (drains their Stamina if they block)
Momentem/Rally (heals)
Purge/Cleanse or Wrecking Blow
Dark Cloak (removes DoTs)
Critical Rush (can't be reflected)
(light attacks)

No it cannot be blocked, but it can be blocked through. A lot of people break it immediately. That maybe what you are seeing.

It does not drain stamina... If someone is standing on top of them while blocking, their stamina will drain.

Has nothing to do with being NB. You're playing a proper glass house build. Full points into stamina, 7/7 medium armor and bow. Class house builds cant beat any tanky sustained build upfront 1v1. Doesn't matter what class you or they play.

Go fight another NB, that's using sword&board and resto, or a templar, that knows how to play. You wouldn't stand a chance, unless you sucker-punched them from behind.

I don't like the design. Stamina builds have the highest burst in the game, Lethal Arrow spam is 100% more effective than any current spell combination, when pinning down shield-stacking, heal spamming targets.

But if you (like me) want stamina builds with decent dmg and survivability instead, for upfront fights, there's no viable options out there. Issue is how anything that drastically increases survivability and utility scales of and costs magicka. Even the frickin' WW heal is based on max magicka...

Remember, when they break your fear, it cost them a lot of stam. You need to be able to sustain for those 5 secs they are immune. Once the swirls around there feet are gone, do it again. Now they have to make a choice. Deplete more stam or eat the entire fear and hope you can't do it a 3rd time.

Every time you BLOCK damage, that drains stamina. Caltrops puts a ground-based DOT, which damages them constantly - if they hold block, their stamina will drain like crazy. As long as YOU STAY inside your caltrops, you win. And DKs are MELEE-range class, so they have to come to you.

I'm a stamina nb, and I have two tactics against DKs. The first and most used is obviously run like hell. If the DK is alone this is pretty easy. If your snipes don't get him below a quarter hp from a distance, you need to start running as soon as he stands up. Not when he starts blocking, not when he starts looking for you, but as soon as he stands up. Hit retreating maneuver, shadow cloak, stealth, and run like hell. Keep in mind you will almost certainly be stuck in combat and unable to restealth, which is why retreating is important. Don't get caught up trying to get back into stealth. If it doesn't work, let it go and focus on using retreating and the environment. Break line of sight, and try your hardest to stay out of their range.

If they have back up running can be a bit trickier. You will need to add purge to break curses and mark target, which will both *** up your stealth. You probably won't be able run successfully from them unless you have somewhere to run to, such as a friendly keep, because again, you will be stuck in combat.

If the DK took a lot of damage from your snipes, but isn't quite dead yet and the bloodlust is upon you, a two hander deals with those wings quite nicely. Invis, switch to two hander, use momentum as you close the gap, and heavy attack that *** from behind. If he drops that ring of fire, pull him out of it. Then you can do whatever combination of uppercut, fear, light and heavy attacks, and then finish him with a soul assault. It's not easy, but it can be done.

These may not be the best methods, but they work well enough for me. Mostly the running like hell.

The key to your problem is not your class, but to expect decent results as a stam vampire against a dk. Even with a full magicka cookie cutter build u would be at a major disadvantage fighting a dk.

Ask any dueler u come across why they are NOT a vampire.

Posters said L2P because your OP sounded like you didn't know how to play. You can block just like the DK and there are many spells in the game that bypass scales.

As for your build, you are a glass cannon with little sustaining power. It will lose to any experienced 1 vs 1 player using any class that incorporates some sustain unless you gank them (and if they survive they still might win).

Hah thats pretty much my strategy! I was just asking if anyone had one I havent thought of. Im tried multiple stamina combos.

SO basically...Stam build NB is already screwed....and its an uphill battle anyways...

That fire damage. Well the main reason im a vamp is for Dark Stalker+concealed combo....i can move around a lot.

2h Block doesnt really do anything. I still take damage as i dont have any mitigation. If I sit and block like a DK i would just die.

The bottom line guys is this: if you're spec'ed for ganking you're not spec'ed for sustained 1v1 combat. It's a simple trade you chose to make. You either make a sustainable build or you make one with huge burst damage. If you choose the latter don't be surprised you can't outlast the former in open combat.

That said it is much harder to put a sustainable stamina build together, that is an issue with the current game's meta. On the other hand it's also hard to put a magicka burst build together too, unless you play a magicka NB ganker. So it kinda goes both ways.

At the moment you have to become a bit more prepared for these situations. Do some duels and find out what works and what not. Some great advice was given in this thread already.

But do bear in mind that, being a stealthed assassin and all, turning tail and running is a very valid strategy. Don't expect to outlast tanky builds when your attempt fails. When you get angry because you got killed by DK, think of all the times he got angry because he got insta-gibbed by two Lethal Arrows before he got a chance to do anything about it
