I seem to have lost the EP "main" quests.

Does anyone know what I should be doing in the Ebonheart pact to start the "alliance war" quests? I'm an AD player doing the EP Vet zone, and in AD you had pretty concise "this-is-the-next-quest-in-this-quest-line" moments, which meant I could do all the quests concerning Queen Aryenn pretty quickly.

However I'm struggling to do the same in EP - I've reached the second region (I think that's Deshaan) and I've yet to meet the Skald King. My latest quest involved killing Balreth and then Balreth's demon brother thing. The very last quest that might have been relevant was a quest for House Dres, maybe called "Vengeance for House Dres". Currently I'm running around in Deshaan doing pretty cool quests, though I don't think they're relevant to the "main" war story.

I've looked at the wikis for what I should be doing and when it comes to the AD main quests you get this:
http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Aldmeri_Dominion_Quests
Which is exactly what I want, but when you look at EP main quests you get this:
http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Ebonheart_Pact_Quests
Which is a list of all the quests available in EP - not the "main" ones.

So can someone help me out here? Who should I be talking to?

Its been a while for me, the only thing I remember clearly about EP main quests in that area was having to kill a certain alchemist that was a real pita (I died like 6 times on that one lol), but anyway if it helps I use this sometimes-

you can filter by zone and type of quests, and some even have maps..its helped me a few times in the past..
And another one I just found..- uesp.net/wiki/Online:Ebonheart_Pact#Quests

The EP main story branches off into other things. It isn't as uniform as the AD or DC one. The Deshaan main plot revolves around Almalexia and the Maulborne.

The Shadowfen plot revolves around skinstealers and the AD. Just do all the quests
and you'll make it through it.

When you get to Windhelm you start having a more connected plot, where elements from earlier zones come together.

True of the other factions too, they just segway between them better.

Have you looked at the Caldwell's part of the journal to see if there is anything listed?

EP is funny like that. You can miss part of the main quest as well and pick it up in another zone only to go back later and get the one you "skipped". I only know that because I played EP as a main and had to go back to get some achievements and noticed that I missed a ton of main quest areas that now looking back would have been logical.

The EP Main Quest in Deshaan starts with you dealing with the Plague/Maulbourn in the first village you come to when you go through the gate into the zone from Stonefalls, from there you are sent to Narsis, and then Obsidian Gorge, then Mournhold, if memory serves me correct.

What parts are you missing on the Cadwell's Silver/Gold page of your journal?

I see someone has already linked the UESP's EP quest list; there's also this quest tree version that I'm working on, but this only goes up to Deshaan because I haven't gotten any further than that. However, you can still follow the Next Quest links from quest-to-quest through the whole story chain.

If you're looking for the quests required to complete Cadwell's, we have that at UESP as well, here.

You wont run into the skald king till the 4th zone in EP.

If my memory serves the main quest line towns (as I don't remember the name of the quests) qurantine serk -> Narsis -> Obsidian gorge -> mournhold -> Selfora (? I think) -> shrine of saint veloth -> Eidolons hollow. I believe this was the path taken all though it has been a while but hopefully I didn't miss a step.

    This is correct.

The EP's story is like their faction: disjointed, cobbled together, and generally ugly.

Just kidding. I like the story. But the EP is still a bunch of uggos.

Thanks a lot to all those who commented, you've helped me understand it a bit more. Personally, I'm not a fan of the disjointed questing EP offers, but at least I know that it's not like I've missed one quest back in Stonefalls and then missed the entire "Alliance war story" :) This way of doing it at least makes me do a random fun quest (albeit unintentionally) every now and then.

We will show you whos ugly! (Kidding)

In general tho I like the EP quests the best. In comparison to the other factions it just seems more like they are at war. The covenant just seems to have alot of bad guys trying to take them down and the AD is fighting a ton of internal conflicts. No other faction had i felt like the other two alliances were trying to gun me down.
