Could we have Generals?

It would be awesome if we could get something like they had in GW2. Perhaps make it cost 3 million+ AP to purchase a title that allows you to toggle on an icon visible to everyone in your alliance on the map. If not, just make the Emperor visible as an icon to everyone in their alliance on the map.

Another idea is a 500k AP title that allows players to talk in zone chat.

What do you guys' think?

Would be neat, but would also make for spying to become obvious. I think half the fun is having to actually "be social" cause you know... we play MMOs.

Rally together on your own makes it twice the fun. Alliances grow and fall etc etc.

Well and then many emps don't do anything to help their alliance, just ap farm.

The leaders of an alliance should be apparent if you play on a consistent basis.

It would be great, if we didn't have problems with multifaction players spying and being shysters.

I guarantee this would devolve into an all you can cheat spyfest. Then into a flame war, then into nobody playing because the fun was sucked out of it.

I'd love that idea if they could find some way to stop people from rolling lowbie alts to spy for or help opposing factions. But considering they had to remove Forward Camps altogether to stop trollcamping. I think it's a long way off.

I'd save up my AP for a Commander tag.

I'm a nobody who tries to lead DC and am successful when people decide to listen to a nobody lol. I guess you could call me a general. I'm better at tactics than anything else, and never seem to have time to get past vr2 (yea i hit vr2 after playing for months)

Lol yeah unless your AD. The AD pugs have serious trust issues after a certain guild steered them the wrong way, we lost the campaign and then switched sides. Like serious trust issues, like needs counseling for life lol

One thing I liked in Planetside 2 was, those who wanted to lead or give direction could put certs (ap points) into a skill line that gave them an ability to speak in a different channel which showed up as differently colored text. Had an issue last night trying to follow what was being said in chat but the orders kept getting bumped by group invite spamming. I would like to see this be something earned requiring enough effort and skill not everyone and their dog could get into it so we could see a bit more unified combat coordinated amongst all the PvP guilds and pubs.

we should not have to buy a title just to talk in zone chat.... that is nonsense in my opinion. It's an MMO, part of the game is the social aspect of it.

A 3 million or whatever AP price you listed; for a "General" title would be a neat way to show who is leading(unless its someone who just sits in the back yelling at everyone. lol)

Oh, we have Generals all right. Usually you'll find them sitting in one of these...

Well, coming from Eve which has a pretty good set of command tools - though compiled into an interface of LEGENDARY inaccessibility - your idea has merit in concept unless I am failing to interpret you correctly (often the case). And, frankly, I was expecting more such features given the scale of player versus player combat in this game.

Yet even with all it's fleet commander features, it all comes down to absurdly massive TS populations of people who know when to shut up....well...among the corporations that are the most effective. And who listen.

And in this game command and control seems to work almost on its own during rare moments.

Yes, we get AP from sitting at the wayshrine giving advice. Hell, you can hit AR 30+ by doing nothing, right? lol denigrate that which you cannot achieve /rolls eyes

Some of the best sessions I've had in PvP have been when we've been under pressure and everyone just clicks. Zone chat just has crisp information flowing between groups and the occasional laugh. Brilliant stuff, great fun and very effective.

Doesn't happen that often, but gosh! it's good when it does. Let the people sort it out for themselves and certainly don't let people buy general tags! For me the current situation is one of the things they got right from the start, and I shudder to think what might happen if they mess with it now.

i have neither the time nor desire to become a general. nor do i even have the skill or possibly even the build for it. I am deginerating nothing. i only targeted specific types of individuals. i am getting tired of your false and predictable accusations about me, and we have only spoken with each other on two threads. I will nto rpely to you anymore until you stop acting like you know me, because you do not. good night toosk
