Although I stopped doing these crafting writs, I think this would be a good idea.
Then it would finally make sense that there are mobs around the survey spots, because in this case they ARE the survey
In exchange I'd like to not see the wasps next to the enchanter survey anymore. Just yesterday I just died twice in a row with my VR14, although I rolled out the Atronach (only once, then the ultimate was gone, of course) and the other two Daedras, so it's just not worth it as a weak single player mage when I also get repair costs additional to "Ta" (which I have over 800 in an alt's inventory)..

That sounds fair. Then people could have more fun, I mean I get why they put the Wasps there (to force people to have a minimum level) but there are better ways of doing that.

I guess you're right with the minimum level. But the problem is, there are players which aren't even close to the rank required for fighting in Craglorn (especially alone), but their skills are at 50 already, so they have to go there. It's kinda.. weird. And, I was not able to handle the bunch of wasps with my VR14, so either I suck, or to put them there was a bad idea^^

I think the majority view is that they were a bad idea, as I said there are other ways of doing it.
Like having gated areas, if you are too low a level, then you get a different resource to harvest. Or tying the writs to character level, as well as crafting level, you have to qualify on both counts to get the writ/survey.
Personally I was thinking there should be a pack of wolf corpses that we could loot, or similar.

Thanks for running this, AlexDougherty. These are good odds!
I'd like leather surveys, but am opposed to having it being tied just to crafting level (lv50 clothier must kill VRwhatevers, regardless of what their character level was).
I was under the impression that some people have, for example, one alt do alchemy, one alt do blacksmithing, and etc for the rest of the crafts (or one does both blacksmithing and clothier. Anyway...)
I don't think it'd be fair to the people with those alts to make them fight top level thingers with every single one of those alts just because they spread around their crafting. I know I'd go insane if I had to get 3-6 alts to where they were able to kill a VR14 mob. The mob itself could just be...skeevers! A legion of skeevers scaled to the level of the player, but dropping appropriate stuff for their craft level.
How about having those little Daggerbacks (Well-fed) grazing on Lush Voidbloom? Lil from A, lil from B.
Also give em a chance to drop nirncrux, just like that species of cat relative that poops out coffee beans.
