Cyrodil lag - any acknowledgement?

Wondering if anyone on the ZOS team has acknowledged any problems with lag in Cyrodil? Ever time I'm in there the lag gets unbareable for everyone in any large scale confrontation.

    Yes, it's an obvious problem.

    The ZOS team definitely knows about it.

    They have been testing fixes for it, but it's a very hard problem to solve. Lag only happens when there are too many players are in a small area, and then the number of calculations the server has to do grows exponentially. Lag will never go away completely, but they can try to improve server performance. However, these changes take a long time- we are talking multiple weeks or months of programming effort and even more time for testing.

    The lag isn't at a small area. It may happen over three keeps! Even there are few nearby.

    No lag at all tonight on Haderus; just a lot of fun pvp. Chillrend and Azura's Star are amazing as well.

    Just an example : this afternoon, fights on empty EU campaign Haderus, it started with 15 DC vs 25 AD or so. After it went down to something around 12 vs 12 probably.
    During all that time, awful lag, stuck abilities and even a few crashes in our group.

    So, no, sorry to contradict you, but it does not "only happen when there are too many players".

    Unless 15 vs 15 is too many, but if that's the definition of "many" then we're in deep **** if you'll pardon my French ; )

    True, it's a hard issue to solve and takes a lot more time than other issues. The only problem is that they have already had 4 months of us complaining about the issue to do something about it, or at the very least, tell us they're having trouble with a solution.

    I think ZOS missed a golden opportunity here by limiting the ping display to 999 instead of 9999. Oh the jokes that could of been had.

    I am actually surprised ZOS even released the latency command. Ever since its been an utter embarassment for them how bad the ping of their game is no matter the zone or what youre doing.

    Most MMOs ive played, 200 ping was bad, like horribad, for my connection (anywhere in the US i typically run 40-50, due to my central location).

    Here in ESO I am LUCKY to be under 200. Ive actually seen lagbombs go over 20k latency before using wykkyds toolbar. Yes, 20,000 ping, 20 seconds of server lag. W T F

    if u use the wykkyds toolbar it will show ur ping higher than 999, my highest so far was 15k ^^

    As someone who solely plays and levels characters for the PVP I'm currently unsure what to do with the game. Cyrodil promised epic 3 faction battles NOT epic unplayable lagfests.

    Are ZOS fully aware? Do they have a proper grasp on the issues? Will it EVER be fixed?

    All I'm asking is for the experience which was sold to me prior to my purchase and if you're having problems delivering that then keep us informed. People are far more likely to stick around if they at least know you're aware of the issues and are working hard to fix them.

    I am having to assume that ZOS know there is a game breaking problem here but with each wasted evening in Cyrodil I'm not sure that assumption is enough to keep me invested in the game.

    Most of my guild has quit playing because of this. We went down from doing full 24 people pvp group, every day, to nobody joining anymore.

    And believe me we tried, and the guild leader tried to keep us together. But when seeing the horrible lag, and crashes which made the game unplayable, weeks in a row, people slowly just stopped joining the PvP raids, until there were no raids anymore.

    The even sadder part is, that all those players are lost. Even fixing the server performance (which i doubt will ever happen) will probably not bring them back to the game.

    Yesterday on EU Thornblade, DC were under the cosh most of the day. At one point AD were sieging Glade (or it might have been Warden - one of the two!). It was a decent size group, about a full raid, and they got into the Inner and grouped on the landing where the two stairs (one from each postern) meet.
    -
    All the DC defenders in the vicinity went and stood on them. I was one. And there we lagged. I hit x for every synergy I saw and rotated Mass Hysteria, Blinding Flurry and simple attack. I don't know if any of my attacks actually happened, but after about 5 mins of this the AD went down.

    It was pathetic.

    I doubt they ever get the lag issue solved...i quit even bothering with keep battles anymore...not only because of lag, but because every keep battle is the same thing:

    Spam Impulse and Bats
    Stand on Flag
    Spam Impulse and Bats

    its gets old, so i tend to stay out and about in the wilderness with a few folks and engage in more small scales battles. Even during heavy keep siges on the other side of Cyrodiil the game still lags even if im not there, and see that ping shoot through the roof. its comical in a way.

    its why i stick to blackwater almost all the time. it does not suffer NEARLY as bad from these issues as the other campaigns. hedarus is not as bad either, but blackwater is as close to the first month PVP experience i myself could find. iv crashed only twice over about 2 months in blackwater, and lag is almost never an issue.

    if only every campaign was like that....

    ZOS really has got to fix the lag. By fix i mean at least get it under control.

    i refuse to play thornblade because of the powerpoint it has turned into. thats all thornblade is, a video game power point, thats how bad the lag is. they need to get it fixed soon or they will lose half of the fanbase.

    So 5 days later and the only response form ZOS on the forums is the usual 'restart your pc/router etc', which of course is the cause of everyone in the same mass fight experiencing game breaking lag.

    I don't know why I expected better, but I did :(
