Grind out veteran ranks or re-roll?

I had posted this in a different category but I don't think it belongs there, and I don't think that category is viewed much...

Question for some of you...

I am still leveling my templar(very slowly :( ), but as I approach 50, I am not sure what I want to do...I want to check out veteran content and see how my build(s) fare against the tougher stuff in the game. But I want to eventually roll new toons to experience the other classes and playstyles. I will most likely choose a different faction each time.

The question to myself is...do I want to start another character after already having grinded the veteran ranks in that characters faction zones on my templar already? Or should I put my templar down at 50, start a new toon with a new faction so the quests are all fresh and new.

Since there is, so far, no need to rush to max veteran rank(or is there?), Im leaning toward stopping my templar at 50 and picking up a new toon with new faction.
Once I have one of each faction and/or class, pick one or two and focus on them via invested time grinding through veteran ranks.

Decisions decisions...

Opinions? Thoughts? Civil comments? Is there content that Im going to potentially miss out in near-future updates by not having a max-veteran rank character?

I'm not sure about costumes reward for VR levels (asked here but no response from ZOS). Also, you can enter craglorn when you hit VR (I started to explore Craglorn at VR1). And no, I don't think you'll miss any content.
As for me, I started a new character 3 times just because I found that I do not enjoy this one anymore.

If i was you i would play the other chars as well. I have reached v14 on my main but the content is still more or less the same as when i was questing in greenshade.
As i become more powerfull, so do the mobs you encounter. There really is not so much of a diference running elden hollow dungeon to running craglorn delves with a group.
    It stays hard and interesting.
The only advantage to level a main completely is that you have access to all of the game world and the delves and quests in craglorn are pretty amazing.

But other than that, if you are one of the people that love to try out different setups and abilities, instead of using the same ones over and over (i just love impulse and healing springs and don't need anything else  ),
There is nothing wrong with leveling different toons.

I tend to forget the quests pretty fast in any case, so it would not bother me to level up a toon through the same content if i had the time to do it. Bit like watching game of thrones again, i still enjoy it the second time...

Slager, Dunmer Magica DK, DC EU, pvp
Farmer, Dunmer Magica DK, AD EU, trials build

Every major patch looks like the end of the world but somehow i just cannot stop playing.

Sadly, I dont think I would forget the quests very quickly.

If I understand it, Trials are like competitive raids...As long as no new tier of loot is released with subsequent trial releases (so I dont "fall behind" on that curve...) I think Im perfectly OK with waiting a long while until getting to that point because too often does one rush to the end with nothing left to do.

    Any word on additional trials?

It really is up to you.

I have three toons of different levels in one alliance (V8, V1 and 17) and an alt in another one (level 11 now) and I alternate between them.

I think the vet zones are fun, as I love dolmens and dungeon crawling, but it may not be for everyone.

I am sure that by the time you get to VR Ranks, the issues will be fixed. I hope.

Now, a couple of things you can do is level an alt as you always need a crafter. In fact, respec your L50 into crafting and make things for the low level Alt. With the new Intricate giving a 280% bonus to Inspiration and the Crafting Writs offering nice Inspiration in the craft, your crafting skills will easily keep up with a leveling Alt. If you have someone making gear, a low level alt is not that weak, unlike the first time you were with a low level character.

You can always respec your L50 back into combat at some future date, they will still have the skill experience progression, so you just have to re-assign the skill points.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Im holding off leveling my VR chars. They are going to reduce the xp required per VR level to 1 mil. Until then, its mat farming, lore book finding etc....

    Both for me.

I want to level a nightblade, but also want to level up my VR Templar, VR DK, and VR Sorc too.

I stopped playing my VR Templar and am playing some alts now at least until they fix the VR xp issue. I'm still having fun and learning a new class which is cool.

One thing to consider is PvP, if you have two or three characters in different alliances it can will become a problem due to the limited number of campaigns.
If you want to PvP be careful of which campaigns you assign them too as you can will end up stuck in a dead campaign with no easy way to move to a new one. There are ways to work around this but it's a bit of a pita.
I played one character in each alliance but in hindsight I wish I hadn't.

The quests for the vet level content are exactly the same as the ones you would do if you choose a character of that particular faction. The only difference is that the rewards have been scaled up.

Things you might miss: The Golden Saint, Dark Seducer, and Manimarco costumes are rewards for attaining VR2, VR6, and VR10 respectively. I'm not sure what the plans are for those once vet levels are gone.

I could be wrong, but I believe they are also introducing gear "seasons." Not sure when this will happen, but it's one of those things that you usually don't want to fall behind on in an MMO.

For my opinion... My MMO days began in DAoC and thus I am completely against cross-realm toons. I have three V14, a V9, and a V3 all DC. There really isn't a reason to roll an alt unless you are completely bored with your toon as you can experience all content. I'm just the guy that likes to have at least one of each class maxed.

If you do reroll, I would suggest staying away from the sorc as for PvE they appear to be the new templar. Both of my sorcs have been demoted to hireling collection/crafting alt for the foreseeable future.
