Tale of Hova's Name Change

So I've heard quite a few rumors buzzing around and its all very entertaining. But I figured I'd explain why my name has changed.

Apparently I was reported by a multitude of people for my name being offensive. Kudos to the trolls, you've succeeded in forcing me to change my name.

Apparently Hova is slang for Jehovah, and that with that name, it was implied I was comparing myself to be a God of PvP. So ZoS found it inappropriate for me to compare myself to God and decided I had to change my name.

Hova is actually short for my fraternity name, and it has been a handle I have used through all video games because I didn't know what else to name my characters or accounts.

So all of my characters that had Hova in it, in some sort of iteration, was forced a character rename by ZoS, which was 6 out of my 8 characters. Incidentally, ZoS also found "Hirelingbtchh" and "Enchantingbtchh" to be inappropriate mule names.

The result is, all Hova related names have been replaced with Brova, so that I may proudly represent the Swaggerfall Brovenant.

My main DK is now Brovaling. My Templar Brovalicious. My sorc Baka-kun.

Anyways, mass reporting me to force me to change my name will not stop me from leading my guild to stomp out opposition. This is the third time I've been banned by GM's through mass reporting, and also the third time I've had the suspension lifted immediately upon appeal. Stop fighting me with reports, and fight me in Cyrodiil.

In all honesty though, this has to be one of the stupidest reasons for a name change I have ever seen.

In game i have seen so many "religious" themed names that I am sure someone would be offended by (incidentally, the stupidest cop out there is) that were actually intended to be obviously offensive, that I am sure will never be changed.

What a hilariously petty community we have.

Those are clearly inappropriate and Hova clearly is not.

I'm co-opting a colloquialism for why university politics are so mean spirited.

Because the stakes are small, people feel free to let their meanness out because they feel 'oh, I won't utterly destroy him by doing this, but he won't be happy'.

In short, it's a crappy thing done by crappy reasons because won't feel too bad about it since it just a "little thing" they did.

The funny thing is this is making me think of this REALLY old anime from like the 80's where the villain was some evil computer genius who thought his name meant he was the second coming of God but no he's just a dude and he commits suicide but not before planting a critical error that threatens to cause widespread destruction in a city reliant on technology. I can't remember the name of it but it's really fraggin old. Like I think it once aired on Sci-Fi when it was CALLED Sci-Fi and not *** Sy-Fy.

But really I hate that people are allowed to do petty things like this and get away with it. I remember hearing from a friend that they were forced to do a name change only to be whispered by someone who bragged that they were the one who reported them so THEY could get the character name. Horsesh***!

I only ran into you once or twice when I went for a swim in lagblade, but you are the very modern model of a brick sh**house. Kudos to you Hova. Keep on trucking.

I would look at this in a more positive way. The fear and disdain your enemies have for you is so great that they carefully fabricated a complaint and organized a mass report so they could inconvenience or annoy you. It was their only way of getting to you since they obviously can't hold their own on the battlefield.
