Rollin a NB, my question is.. When I'm crouched and it says "hidden" and I use a bow attack is it the same as hitting the 2.5 second "cloak" and using the same attack? (Understanding crit chance will be higher with one of the cloak morphs) are these both considered stealth? Attacking from behind.. ? Does this count for any damage perk? I read that they nerfed something about NB and stealth so I'm not sure what's up.. Any info is good. Thanks

✭✭Any attack you make while hidden will automatically critically hit. You don't even have to use shadow cloak to do this with a bow. Depending on race and whether you use medium armor, you may have passives that decrease your detection range, and you can get in close behind a mob to use veiled strike which does more damage than surprise attack. (However this does not work in pvp, you must use surprise attack there).-

Depends how you are using it, for instance if you are dualwielding and using Bloodcraze + Swallow Soul, when you go into Shadowy Disguise the heal from those 2 abilities will be crits so are any of your DoT effects. My personnal favourite synergy with that power is Soul Tether followed by Shadowy Diguise, the damage done by the health drain is automaticaly a crit causing the healing effect to be increased, and that same increased healing effect is increased again because it can separatly crit too, allowing you to recover massive ammounts of health under 3sec.1 -

Can't you crit from stealth, then use Cloak to crit again, plus the other benefits like regeneration from nb passives not to mention using it as an escape skill?
I haven't played my nb in ages, but I seem to remember Cloak being more useful than I first thought...

eNumbra✭✭✭✭✭Cloak only makes you invisible - Invisible does not count as Stealth - Guaranteed crits only come from Stealth.
Cloak will however (excluding some elite mobs) remove aggro and/or keep you in Stealth (useful when using a melee stealth attack such as Veiled Strike.0 -

✭✭Just to clear up a mistake I made in my reply above, I meant Teleport Strike, not surprise attack.
At any rate, in pvp you don't have much reasonable expectation of close range stealth. Many of your opponents are using detect potions and/or magelight and may have armor sets or some other thing helping them see sneaky people. Just a heads up if that is something you're considering doing. The playstyle I used for PVE originally was no good in PVP. Even now I have much to learn.-

It is one of the best pve skills in the game. Map your cloak to a mouse button, download an add-on that puts a cool-down timer on screen (so you know when it is going to "expire") and pick up Concealed Weapon. Put your cloak and concealed weapon on the same bar.
Now, you can spam cloak and run through mobs undetected. There is nothing more satisfying then to run to the end of any dungeon (solo or not) skipping all the mobs and focusing just on the objectives and bosses.
As others have said, it can also be used to break agro and, with the right passives, give you a massive armor boost after de-cloaking.
