It sucks that I can not farm the leather I need for the clothier writs.

How come leather is the only material you can not farm outside your characters rank? my clothier is Vet 2 with 50 clothing. When ever I get the writ to make shadowhide items I have to buy from other players. Never really had a problem with this until writs came along because now everywhere I see people are now asking insane prices for them. And if you do not know you can not just go to craglorn and get it there, they still own drop hides your lvl. Never understood why I can get lower leather from lower lvl mobs but can not get higher leather from higher level mobs

This annoyed me greatly. When levelling I was always able to have enough light or heavy armour mats to make nearly an entire set by the time I unlocked a new level. When it came to medium armour mats (which was what I was using on my main) I had to hit up guildmates who were higher level to farm them for me.

Adding the crafting writs to that must be even more frustrating again.

Better look for a group to help with higher level mobs if you can't find mats you can afford. Otherwise, looks like you got screwed by Zenimax. Hope she kissed you first.

I posted this thread a while back before wits even existed; someone tried to claim it was because "finding" leather sources was easy and reliable - wolves and mud crabs are everywhere, damn the fact that it's still RNG based, damn the fact that you still have to work for the mats despite cloth and metal simply being harvestable and the mobs avoidable.

Other still scoffed at the notion that anything was wrong, that leather workers should simply buy the materials from other players or decon medium armors that are dropped - cutting into looting revenues.

You can read it for yourself. Everyone hates medium armor.

I have not gotten a clothing writ that requires leather. Personally I have not had a problem getting leather for my lower level alts. Using the drops of hides off beasts and sending them any leather/cloth piece of equipment I find they have a solid stock of needed material. If anything it is the actual level of material I have to go find.
