^ Sorc is only class with no 1.) Stam/blocking buffs 2.) Non-channeled self heal. With the nerfs to shield stacking now we have.... streak. Oh and absorption field. What should I do with the other 8 slots? Fill them with guild and weapon abilities...
Outside of steak and absorption field the sorc abilities are feeling pretty pitiful ATM.

You seem to forget 1. crystal frag 2. mages wrath 3. crushing shock 4.immovable 5. velocious curse
second bar 1. healing ward 2. conjured ward 3. mutagen 4. daedric mines 5. lightning form
There's a starter build for you

Um no, sorry, have you actually played this since 1.5? This is a perfectly viable build for questing and dying to snipers.
This sort of build would work great if you were not taking damage and can free cast on someone. However, you are going to be in trouble if you start taking burst damage in bar 1 and are at 10% health by the time you get to bar 2 (snipers, nb). At that point, mutagen is a really slow heal, and healing ward (after they fix it) will take at least 6 seconds to get that heal. In the meantime, you can't switch back to your dps bar because you are at 30% health and need to spam shields while your health recovers. If your health does recover, and you can get back to dps'n, you now have low mag from shield spamming. So you can now get 2-4 shards off before you run out of mag (while sitting in immovable casting---costing FULL mag on a not cheap spell) which will probably be rolled dodged because the travel time is so slow and obvious.
So IMO the build you proposed is terrible, and offered by a person who has never played that build.

I actually use a somewhat similar build to what he posted, since 1.5 it's been harder, no doubt about it. But I can still 1v1 people just fine and do some 1vX against bad players.

All sorts of wacky builds can work in good groups. Does not mean it is a viable build for 1v1 or small group play.
