Aoe_Barbecue✭✭✭✭✭The FC's only highlight the inability of ZoS's mega server to handle the loads on it. (Giggity.) It allows large numbers of players to continually fight in the same area, placing massive strain on the server. FC removal thus would mitigate server crashes, but not eliminate them. The mechanism to cause the crash still exists; the best vehicle for the mechanism was simply removed. I don't think it's hard to replicate those conditions actually. For what it's worth, I have noticed the crashes have been far more infrequent.
The mega server concept was new, and used new technology. I hope games in the future borrow it and improve on it. As far as experimental hardware goes I think this was one of the smoother debuts.Edited by Aoe_Barbecue on November 10, 2014 4:59AM2 -
