I've beaten the game on several characters now and have a few at VR14. I decided to do something different with one of them (AD Alliance) and release prisoners from Heart's Grief (except for Mannimarco as I already heard from others what happens when you release him but I'll list it below anyway.
I hope that helps for any curious and if you have done this via the other alliances or have any other character choices to release and have done so, feel free to share with spoiler tags of course for those that don't want to see it by mistake!

Aelif: Screamed: Master, no! Then she turned into a Bloody Skeleton to which you fight and kill.
Javad Tharn: He hunches over out of breath and says "Thank you, Uncle! You won't regret this!" He then turns to a bubbling blob of ooze and disappears.
Prince Naemon: He screams: "Not like this! No! No!" And then poof, vanishes
Duchess of Anguish: She stays herself and you fight her. It was satisfying to whoop her butt all over again.
I didn't release Mannimarco but it's been said he says to the player that they will regret it and then vanishes via magic. I'm glad I didn't because I would have wanted to kill that vile scum all over again.

I played DC and ...released Falchou and Septima Tharn. Falchou attacked me. No one helped me fight him everyone stood there and watched. I was playing a sorc and my pets didn't attack, nor did my ultimate summoned atronach. It took about 10 minutes to wear him down; he had a LOT of HP. Ugh. Once you release Septima Tharn, an Ancestor Spirit ghost walks up to her and she says, "An Ancestor Spirit? Here?" It stabs her and they both disappear. The Duchess you already know.4 -

Awesome, thanks for adding the DC side! LOL @ pets not helping. That has happened on my Sorc several times. Once in a while a relog fixes it --- other times it took a bunch of zoning.1 -

The others you have to go up to them and talk --- they are in the prisons in the rows besides Mannimarco. You may have someone in one, then the next empty then the next 2 with people in them.. if you make another playthrough check it out and talk to them which will then allow you to press the release button or not.1

Yes it's what happened for me.... ultimately that's what he did on 2 of my characters (only did this on the last two characters that I leveled, the other 2 I didn't release any). Unless something was changed since 1.52 because I haven't brought any characters through there since then. One of each class that is VR14 is all I plan on leveling for quite a while lol (and of course if they add new ranks/classes).
For each of my characters he poofed and didn't remain like that nor shatter but only appeared that way very briefly. He stayed like that for you?Edited by ThisOnePosts on November 9, 2014 1:00PM0
