So Werewolves can use Devour on Dwemer Automatons. Can they be bled too?

So Werewolves can now munch on Dwarven robots, but bleed attacks still have immunity across a sizeable variety of enemy types. Why can't bleed work on more enemies?

Not making demands or anything, but I'll just say that this is one of the bigger reasons why I'm not using my DW build anymore. (I used axes too)

Edit: In case you're unfamiliar with Devour, it's a Werewolf ability where your character feeds on an enemy corpse to gain additional Werewolf timer. Literally feasting on Dwarven metal and oil.

I appreciate the ability to devour.... anything! I know it doesn't make any logical sense... and most likely a werewolf would get gravely injured while attempting to eat bits of sharp, rusty metal - but it allows for me to use my WW form more.

Honestly it would be a shame if I could use WW form effectively in any area of the game, but be completely unable to use it in Dwemer dungeons and delves.

I'm not specifically talking about WW's usability, though it is affected considering how much damage is from their new bleeds. Axes and other melee weapon bleeds have always had this issue and updates periodically add another boss or somesuch to the immunity table.

Does devour even work? I have devoured a dead NPC or Player and have on many occasions transformed back to normal form almost immediately.

Not sure actually. I've experienced similar. If it does work, it's not very well currently.

Since the new patch i think i've been able to eat everything i come across, including undead and deadra. I am okay with eating everything except for Dwarven Automatons and Undead. If it is 'living' you should be able to eat it, and it should bleed (not quite sure how i feel about Deadra). It now, other than that, is starting to feel like the WW's of Skyrim(game, not zone) with some additional new abilities. The only thing i don't like is the reduced ultimate timer. But with my Akavari and Salvation set mix, the WW cost is now only 154 Ult. Using Syphon abilities as my nightblade gives me a passive to earn additional 2 ult for every successfully hit with a Syphon attack. That, including the Blood Rage passive of +6 ult while taking damage every few seconds, builds up ultimate so fast i can turn back into WW form after 3 comparable level kills.

So even with the Ultimate / DevourTimers lessened, they can be worked around. (I still like the old timers better)

I have no problem with Werewolves be able to eat undead, but Automatons and Daedra should be immune to it.

Come to think of it Spriggans and those wooden Golems (I temporarily forget their name) should be immune too.

This is typical ZOS putting lipstick on a pig. The pig in this case being the werewolf.

The complaints were that wolf form didn't last long enough (and it didn't). And so, the simple response, involving the very least amount of actual thought and labour possible, was to let wolves feed on absolutely everything no matter how lore-breaking it is! No consideration was given to the various other (more involved) suggestions on how to remedy this problem; just apply lipstick to the pig.

But wait a minute, you say, vampires can't feed on dwemer automatons, or daedra or spriggans or lurchers or camels, or even undead for that matter. Why bend the rules for one and not the other? ZOS were too busy nerfing swarm and buffing Expert Hunter to give that any consideration I suppose.

I'm not so convinced of the explanation about how Dwemer 'bots dont bleed honestly anyway.

Most of them seem to be "steam" powered, wouldnt cutting one of the steam lines effectively be the equivalent of a "bleed" on a dwemer robot?

As for Were-critters, maybe they need more Iron in their diet? lol

Sure, it's a lore/logic break, but to be honest, it's one I don't really care about. It certainly makes the werewolf a bit more viable in more situations, and makes the new timer ALOT easier to accept. Plus, sometimes I feel that it's not the actual eating portion of the devour that adds to your timer, just the bloodlust that comes with knocking an enemy down and sinking your teeth into it's corpse. Hell, even skyrim would say "bloodlust extended" when you devoured an enemy.

I was chomping on some gears last night with my WW friend.

Were you one of the people in the dungeon? there were quite a few.

It's a bit more involved than just steam, ridiculously so.

They are part Steam Powered, Part Magically powered, and part empowered by the ruins themselves.

But yes, ripping out a steam valve or three should cause them to leak steam. Although the Dewmer probably put some sort of limitator valves in them so leaks get stopped pretty quickly. Otherwise they would have been pretty useless, a construct that could be disabled with a bow wouldn't have lasted five minutes in their various wars.
