Will ZOS compensate for lost XP when they push 1.5.3 patch?

thri11co11ector
As I only have one VR 4 character, I have continued to push through my Cadwell's Silver and Gold vet questing areas despite the known XP bug in Update 5. My question is: will players like myself (who haven't been screaming, "I'm not playing until this is fixed! Why isn't this being hotfixed!") get any kind of XP to compensate for the quests turned in at the bugged lower amounts?

Seems like they should be able to track the XP we have received from vet quests and give us SOMETHING.

They didn't give retroactive XP for Undaunted challenges completed before the update, so I wouldn't hold my breath.

True. It would stand to reason though that the amount of XP lost to all players leveling through Silver and Gold is a considerable amount more (and therefore a much larger setback) than the XP lost through these Undaunted challenges. Thus the need for a more drastic solution. It’s always been pretty clear (even more so from recent changes) that ZOS wants VR players to quest through and experience the other factions. Please ZOS, don’t punish those who have been doing just that since update 5 dropped.

I have 3 mains that I play, all VR4. I am not doing any quests until they fix this. I think I might pull out the Treasure maps I have been saving and go find those locations and grind some delves for gold to build up my bank.

But, questing? That is on hold for now.

Highly doubt it though I wish they would, you can always grind world mobs, you get as much exp killing 2-3 of those as you do turning in a quest

Not a chance. That would defeat the purpose of the "bug".

If you're not seeing it, then you're not paying attention. There's a definite decrease in XP for quests at VR ranks. It's even recognized in the Known Issues thread.

You have got to be kidding OP.

They can't even implement a patch without almost destroying their game, time after time, and you expect them to do something as complicated as figuring out how to retroactively give players back the xp that they were screwed out of.

No way, no chance. They just aren't smart enough!

Am I expecting them to proactively credit the correct amount of missed XP to all players? No. That would not be reasonable.

Let’s just say for sake of argument they increase VR quest XP by 50% as the solution. Do I think that (for players that fill out tickets asking for compensation) it is possible to look at the quest XP earned since update 5 and give us an XP credit of approximately 50% of that. Yes, I think that is possible. Will we get anything without clearly asking for it? Probably not.

No, they will not compensate for lost XP. They have no idea how to do it.

When they fixed group challenges in Public Dungeons they did not gave back lost skill points to those who did them while they were broken.

In EQ2 we would get bonus XP weekends when they would make screw ups like this. But also remember that EQ2 had really awesome vet rewards. Some of them were silly but fun, like fireworks, but others would give you an XP boost for a set amount of time, free appearance change, or food and drink with awesome stats. Basically I wouldn't hold my breath about getting any sort of compensation from ZOS, they tend to be pretty stingy.

You persisted to do Cadwell's quests knowing the XP was reduced? Seems to me then that you implicitly accepted the reduced XP. So no, I don't think ZOS is obligated to refund you missing XP. Actions->consequences.

For myself, I am not questing. But then again, I've learned to not engage much with the game the first week after a major update. Been burned by ZOS' update bugs enough now to know.

The VR players who don't read these or other eso forums (90% or more of all players) are being impacted as well. How did they implicitly accept anything again? Don't they too deserve to be able to fill out a ticket and ask for help?

So people who deleted their items when the game launched can have their Scuttle pet back but I accepted less XP... so tough? Your reasoning is laughable.

I know they will not give us the xp we will miss out on if we continue to quest. Therefore, I have stopped playing until it gets fixed. I cant play a broken game. What should happen is, we should be credited game time for the loss. If I cant play for a week, then I want credit on my account for one week of game time. IF its two weeks...then I want two weeks...and so on.

Not likely, since they clearly stated that when Update 5 went live they wouldn't be granting retroactive XP to all the individuals who weren't V14 but had completed the majority of Cadwell's Silver and Gold and received no progression toward their next Veteran Level by completing activities such as, but not limited to: discovering mundus stones, unlocking waysrhines, discovering Points of Interest, discovering Caves - basically anything that would grant you the Explorer and Pathfinder achievements for each individual zone.

I had a thread about this and got absolutely no word from anyone at ZOS, then the answer was cleverly folded into the next PTS patch notes, as if to avoid confirmation of a fact that would make a good amount of people unhappy.

I dont pvp, nor is it required for me to do so. Im guessing like many other pvpers you fail to realize that questing is the main part of this game. I cant quest. This means the core of the game is broken and unplayable. Thanks for your thoughts though.

I do agree with the WTF is with the broken XP, I just do not understand your stance on wanting credit. Your assumption that I am a PVPer only is incorrect. I am only VR6 and questing has also been put on hold. But going as far as expecting credit is pretty silly.

This is where the Monday time frame came from, the next scheduled maintenance. It has not been confirmed as of yet for Monday.
