How do you take or give up crafting merrits?

So I want multiple but apparently the enchanting dude can only train me in one, I no longer want that - how do I switch or take black smithing as well?

You can only do one at a time. I haven't tried it, but I guess you can just abandon the quest? It should be in your journal somewhere, perhaps under the new category Crafting.

Why not complete it though? It takes only a while.

Talk to the other NPC. There is one for Consumables that covers Alchemy, Enchanting and Provisioning. Then there is one for Cloth/Wood/Smithing

Once you talk to them, then the board becomes available, or at least the writs do.

I have not tried, but can't you do writs in different craft lines at the same time, or at least in the two groups they set up?

You can do all six at once. I did.

You're probably thinking about writs, not certifications.

Because I don't want to do enchanting right now.

I want to drop enchanting and pick up black smithing because I have points in blacksmithing I don't have any in enchanting. I level it by destroying enchantments I find that are useless.

You can do all 6 certifications. You just have to finish the current certification you are on before you are given the option for the other two by that instructor. Once you finish the three that one instructor offers, you're able to talk to the other instructor and start the process for their three certifications. I know it works, I've done it on my character. I currently am doing writs in blacksmithing, clothing, provisioning, alchemy, enchanting, and even woodworking.

So, finish out the quest. Then you have to finish the quests for the other two certifications by the mage instructor. Then and only then can you go to the person (I think in the fighting guild normally) to get certified.

Look in your quest journal under Miscellaneous.

Once you complete a certification you cannot remove it. If you have not completed it, go to your journal and abandon the certification quest.

No, I am listening. The certification literally takes like 2 minutes, you've spent more time on here waiting for an answer than you would have by just finishing the stupid certification...

I'm glad your "issue" got resolved... that wasn't really an issue... just laziness of not wanting to take two minutes to finish it... which would've been shorter than the time it took for you to get that answer... it took you over an hour to find out how to abandon it and pick up a new one, I think the longest I spent on one of those quests was literally 5 minutes. You could've done all 6 in the time it took you to get that answer so that you could skip one...

You mean the certification, just complete it, it takes about a minute, then you can ignore it.

Note that if you get all certifications you get a new dye, green unfortunately, but usable.

I had the same question as the OP. I am 32+ in every craft on 8 toons except alchemy (no hireling), and 32+ on all crafts for 3 of those 8 toons. The first one I ran through was one of the 3. When I got to one without 32 alchemy, and the quest marker for the other certifier disappeared, I was like wtf.
