Removal of Forward Camps: Best Move in PvP Since Launch

I came from SWG where forward camps were abundant. However, the planets were massive and you could not walk or speeder your way from a major city to a battlefield. Cyrodil is not big enough to use the camps how they were and frankly large guilds abused them by placing them in such a way that a keep never ran out of reinforcements.

I do not want to kill 10 players and it make no difference as long as somebody can get a camp up on another tower. I want the enemy to feel their forces dwindling and have to have the heat and adrenaline running through them when they ask themselves, "Is there a spy squad over this hill?" when they are running as fast as they can to a combat point.

If they do decide to bring camps back in, make them truly costly to purchase so that they can reflect their massive tactical advantage. For now though, well done ZoS.

I fine with no camps as long as ZOS makes it so you can respawn at any resource that your alliance owns. Or make it so you can only spawn at camps near you.

If ZOS had made this a system change it would have gone down a lot smoother. People are pretty skewed about it and they really rammed the change down our throats with no warning and with no chaser. The way they should have done it is to remove the camps and replace it with a new system that accounts for the changes. Accounting for things like soul gem requirements, keep flag percentage, keep health, and travel.

The combat and gameplay in Cyrodiil was shaped by the existence of forward camps. Some hated it, some loved it. Given that the combat and gameplay was shaped by FCs, the removal of FC's would result in those that hated it having a new Cyrodiil to love, and those that loved it having a new Cyrodiil to hate. Because there was no system implemented all we did was allow the enjoyment of Cyrodiil to change hands. It would have been much better to change Cyrodiil in this direction while providing for those who enjoyed the old system. I have no explanation for why that did not occur, but it sure seems like it should have.
