Hackers, Exploiters and Cheaters Running Rampant

Unlimited Gold
Mini-Map Radar to detect enemy players (even in stealth)
Auto-Maneuver Execution programs.

This is not speculation. I have links. I have proof. I have the files themselves available. I have already sent ZOS several emails regarding this. People have been suspecting various players of cheating using such methods for a long time now -well now it's no longer conspiracy. This is fact.

Currently this game is running rampant with people abusing these hacks. There are entire forums dedicated to teaching people how to use them. I absolutely DO NOT support people cheating in this game.

Even if he does get banned he deserves kudos from all honest players for trying to make it a better game. WTG Blackthorn51.

Its the only way to get them to respond. My guild has sent in over 1000 support tickets regarding these exact exploits. I sent them links to where these hacks are found WEEKS AGO. I sent them more this morning and as always I get the same scripted response from their support team. Well no more. It's time for them to take this stuff seriously.

yea I looked into stuff before after experiencing some "issues" in the game only to be led to something; apparently someone ?owned core? The fact that these still exist and ZoS is extremely slow at doing anything or publicly shaming these people ([snip] it PUBLICLY SHAME THEM), is rather disappointing. I will continue to play though......

Just because you say it's true doesn't mean it is or we should believe you. Take it from a millionaire playboy ;)

Jokes aside, QQing isn't going to help ZOS to sort it out. Create a ticket with what you have/know and let them deal with it. Posting on the forums isn't going to do anything.

in all seriousness, i do understand this guys frustration and he has his point. but i kind of lost it at the part where he will expose these hacks to people. its made this thread pointless as what he was trying to fight for is what he is starting to create

Expose the hacks? just google any of his listed exploits and there you have it.

Like I said. I've personally sent over a hundred tickets in about this. My guild mates have done the same. We've sent them links. We've given them direct passage to where these hacks can be obtained and how they are being abused in game. All we get in return are scripted, impersonal responses.

    Greetings *****!

Thank you for contacting The Elder Scrolls Online support team! In particular, thank you for taking the time to report this issue, and helping make the ESO community a better place.

We actively investigate all reports of exploiting and hacking. Thank you for submitting the websites you have found, I will forward this on to our team that specializes in this type of investigation.

    Warm Regards,

    Gamemaster *****

Thats it. That is the extent of any communications from ZOS. Doing it the 'proper' way is not getting anything accomplished - so we resort to this.

    Edit:
Also I know this is going to get me in trouble. I am prepared to accept that. Sometimes drastic measures are required. Im sick of receiving the same message from various ZOS employees over and over again without any progress or solutions.

Unlimited gold I flat out disbelieve, as they were able to track this earlier in the game to ban gold sellers. We know that they were able to tag this, and there is zero evidence for rampant market inflation, which would be caused by such people bidding up high-end items.

I don't understand how these programs infiltrate the system, but there must be a way to detect accounts using these and ban them. Then again maybe the income outweighs the desire to make a fair PvP experience. That's my paranoid self speculating. I would like to believe ZOS will do the right thing and eliminate these cheats.

All it takes is a couple of minor changes to the game folder files and the exe files. Some of the programs we've uncovered make these changes for you, others you have to manually change. Either way these are ruining the game for honest players and I'm sick of it. I would like to believe ZOS will fix it too, but sometimes in order to get companies to move on things like this -you have to apply pressure.

I think it's pretty common knowledge these days that cheats and hacks do, in fact, exist.

Most players have seen enough evidence in other games and mmos if not in ESO to know that they do.

The question is whether or not ZOS can do anything to detect them, prevent their use and get rid of the players abusing them.

The reason the gold hackers are gone has to do with the number of people who play and how much money the hackers make... ESO does not make them money so they left. It has almost nothing to do with what ESO did.

    Hey there folks,

We understand that reporting people for cheating and exploiting only to receive the same response each time can be frustrating. We assure you that each case is investigated thoroughly by our Terms of Service team, and if necessary, the appropriate action is taken.

That said, we will not discuss the results of the investigation nor the standings of another player's account with anyone but the affected player. As we do respond to all submitted tickets, and there is nothing further to discuss when a player is reported, a standard text is sent to thank you for your report.

We appreciate all of the reports we receive and your assistance in improving the ESO community. If there's any other way we can help, please let us know.

In general, when a technical issue exists, the following things need to be available for troubleshooting:

    What is happening?
Is it repeatable and if so, by doing what?

Give the techs the information they need to duplicate the problem in house. It's unlikely the first tech that looks at it is going to be the one to fix it, but at least they can confirm an issue exists and escalate to the appropriate party.

And be nice. Getting yourself "blacklisted" is counter productive to the end goal of problem resolution. Don't create a bunch of emotional "noise" that will interfere with the process.

I think duping may be possible again. I saw it mentioned on the exploit threads, and I also accidentally did it myself. I had a single V1 lock ring with fire resist. I was trying to put in on one finger instead of the other and then bam i'm wearing it on both fingers. It was real because the 5 piece bonus lit up for me whereas if it were a UI glitch I would only have the 4 piece bonus. When I took both rings off I only had one so it only duped in the armor slots. A relog might have made it real if I were so inclined to exploit.

I'm not a hacker, but I'm pretty sure most of those resources are kept on the server. I'd be very surprised if any of those things could be done.

Usually in an MMO the most you can do is a speed hack, (because movement is reported by the client) which is very easy to detect if they want to. Radar is also possible, because the server reports enemy locations to the client, and it's also easy to detect by feeding false info. Finally, sure - there are scripts out there. Most of us gamers have keyboards that can complete pretty complex scripts if we wanted to.

To be honest, I wouldn't be too terribly surprised if there's a clientside hack for unlimited dodge and unlimited sprint, (which together would feel like practically unlimited stamina)

They are both just movement, and movement, as pointed out, is apparently client side (and based on reported teleport hacks, very little oversight). Heck, if they really wanted game to feel responsive I could see the message about a client doing a dodge (or sprint) and the message about stamina being used being 2 completely different messages. (Come to think of it, I think I could still actually sprint when I lost connection. Not sure I tried rolling) Hack just blocks the latter message, and presto. Unlimited dodge/sprint. Or heck, it just does the dodge/sprint clientside, and simply reports the new position to the server. Other players see it as a small teleport, or maybe a stuttering run or something.

While I think everyone realizes that you can't/won't "name names" for many practical reasons, what people are upset about is the general silence from ZoS on this issue. Lots of players won't even give PvP a try because they are afraid of just being steamrolled by cheaters. What would HELP restore faith in ZoS is evidence of you guys being proactive. Publish the numbers of cheating reports and the number where the reports are found to be factual. This accomplishes 2 things. It shows that you really do investigate the allegations AND it shows how much cheating there really is going on. THEN tell us what has been done to stop the cheating. New safeguards being implemented (yeah we know you can't give details but at least telling us you are being active on this is reassuring), accounts being banned, specific cheats being completely eliminated? Give us the good news! By not saying ANYTHING people simply assume the news would be BAD and that it is completely out of control.

What? Ahahaha. Go try it - I've personally got "kill the emperor" achievement as vet 1, emperor with his buffs and whole vet14 train die normally. Surely some things may seem out of balance like Snipe or Batswarm, but I've yet to see actual Hacker in PvP.

I've never once seen, or heard any indication of someone cheating/hacking. Of course what one player has or hasn't seen isn't the bottom line, but this thread seems to be exaggerated. OP is just trying to spread fear and doubt.
