EP in Cyrodiil in Thornblade NA Crashing Entire Megaserver?

So it was brought to my attention by an EP player that there are a group of people in Thornblade right now in a massive stack of players spamming healing springs in an attempt to roll back a scroll capture.

I'm not even in cyrodiil and the I can barely harvest a node and just got kicked for "message rate limit". Meanwhile my friends list is a nonstop log of off/on action.

WTH is going on and how do the actions of a group of players in one campaign impact every player in the game? Is the algorithm used for healing springs so inefficient that with enough people casting it on an insane blob of people will crash the entire server? Why isn't the ability capped to heal through the first 12 people it finds instead of sorting every player?

Its not the EP. Its a member of a guild in the DC. Though the forum's naming and shaming policy prevents me from saying anything about them. This lag switch they are running is causing this message rate limit.

Yep pushed EP back to nothing and took their scroll WE REALLY WANNA ROLLBACK NOW.

Seriously though report those EP players, its a really [snip] act to pull with one day to go.

Are you saying DC doing this crap too?

I'm glad I left Thornblade long ago if this is what PvP has become.

Heresy doesn't stand up in court. Not saying I'm not lagging in Stros Mkai. Just saying it needs to be investigated before we pull out nooses.

Well maybe some EP in Thornblade right now can collaborate, it is heresy and this person messaged me randomly asking me to create as post due to me being "Well known" /=

I do know I'm experiencing some server lag right now outside of Cyrodiil. I've long suspected the cyrodiil campaigns of being linked to the same hardware but I figured they would add some isolation between PvP and PvE for performance reasons.

Yep. I've been booted twice now for hitting the "message rate limit".

I'm rubber-banding all over the map... weapon swap, skills, are taking upwards of 15 seconds... and no one is pop locked.

..this only started after both scrolls were taken...

Any word on this being addressed? pretty stupid to play for 30 days and have the very open possibility a win could be ripped away from you because some scrubs like cheating.

Hmm... I saw a certain group of monkey impulse spammer from AD causing this. we had zero lag fighting ep tonight. only happened when the AD impulse spammers showed up.

Half our group on Chillrend got kicked for message limit right after we left glade and called it a night.

My group and I were on the a boss fight Dragonstar Arena on the 8th round and we were getting the error 318 (6:3:1404:2). "You have been dropped from the server because you hit the rate limit. Pleae avoid excessive messaging (e.i. spamming)". This was past midnight central time we gave up because it was terrible; I suspected PVP was causing the lag, so joined Thornblade, and not even 15 minutes into defending a Glade, ESO crashed. This is ***, its effecting PVE runs it seems.

A group of 20-24 people clustered together doing it is one thing but when you get 2 or more groups stacked ontop of one another. That's fishy to me.

I solo PvP Slugger so I'm not doing it just stating excuses I've heard given.

You really are a broken record you know that? It's always AD with the impulse spamming right?

Give it a rest, the majority of the zerg trains that actually utilized that tactic on AD are gone.

If it's ep, it's [snip] zergball of what is basically most of the ep players Zerging together, if it's ad is any number of their *** zergball groups, and if its dc it's probably [snip] zergballing and failing

Its amazing that at times like this they dont take the server down and put a flood control on to limit log ins until the server is stable again.

its not [snip] group, we were slaughtering them while the lag was happening

it is one butt hurt individual who is clearly dos attacking the server.
this is so 1990, cant believe zos server can get Dos attacked like that.
if its not a dos attack, my other theory is the hamster that is running the cpu got tired.

oh and btw,
dont confuse this with the lag from over population that is clearly terrible servers not handling the game.
this is completely different and i hope they dont generalize the lag in prime time and this lag we getting with almost empty servers.

Sorry. Yes all do it, but a certain set of AD monkey spammers is far worse than any others. Don't worry, I've been kicked from DC groups for calling out monkey spamming too.

I heard there was ask a DC guild that did this way back near launch. Am I the only one who thinks its complete bull *** that a few people can spam one skill and crash the server? I mean bugged quests? Ok I can live.. Class imbalance.. Can live with.. Devs not caring about pvp? I'll love with it.
A few people crashing the server by themselves by spamming one skill? NO wtf is that?
I hope this isnt a true story.

Impulse like most aoes chooses targets at random, which even if it went through some random number processing to allocate targets is going to have less computation required then a 'smart healing' algorithm that will compare the health of everyone within a radius and queue up the 6 with lowest hp to be healed. And everyone knows true impulse monkeys don't heal when you can impulse instead: We are the solution not the problem.
